  1. Mata-san, if you going to win, you going to need MODIFICATIONS!
  2. And don't forget, it's got a Century, too. Except Centuries never break down..... they are like Rolls Royces in that regard. They never break down, they just experience a "...... failure to proceed."
  3. If the rain stays to the north, it might be a good night to get the ol' triple niner out to blow some of the cobwebs off. (off of the bike, not off of me) If it looks like a good chance of rain, it'll be the WRC, which should fit right in with the ricers. If it's actually raining, the old man will be in bed early tonight. Diet owns me, so if it's Red Robin, it'll be salad only for me.

  5. Yeah, I see where you're reading that. But I believe those were the V-8 options for all of the Plymouth lines in 1957. The way I read the references is that the Suburban only had the 6 cylinder and the 301 V-8. I could very well be wrong, and if so, I'll be the first to admit it and prolly the last one to know.
  6. Here is some additional info. I don't see any reference in 1957 Plymouth engines for the MR8 prefix on the engine block stamping you've got in your post. The engine code is not shown on the body tag on the firewall. There is a body code number, followed by the body serial number. The engine code is found only on the side of the block, at the front, below the cylinder head. The serial number plate (VIN in "modern" wording) is found on the left front door post from 1946 upward. A 1957 Plymouth V-8 engine code should be P31-1001 to P31-492995. The P31 prefix is for a 301 ci engine. The LP31 prefix identifies the 277 ci engine. A FP31 is the 318 ci engine.
  7. I believe the Fury 301 was the only V-8 option for a 1957 Sport Suburban. The only V-6 for it was the Power Flow 6. I haven't been able to locate serial number id for the engines in case another year of Plymouth engine has been swapped into the car. I'll let you know if I run across one later. http://www.plymouthcentral.com/
  8. Great video clip and a good endorsement of protective gear. http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/commitment.jpg
  9. I'll head to Rob's at 3 ..... haven't seen the new place yet. We'll figure out from there how to get into maximal trouble
  10. I'm willing to meet up, but I can't get to the eastside until about 2:15-2:30. Any suggestions on where to meet?
  11. Bring your little Neon to Dragway 42 and re-experience the feelings you had all last year getting beaten by the "slow rice filled benz."
  12. Yeah, it's truly RICERIFFIC! But it's soooo nasty right now ... rusty wheels, worn ricer painted plastics inside, black paint on the turn signal lenses. I'm almost ashamed to take it out. So much work yet to do ....
  13. Brightly colored cars and bikini-clad babes. Hmmmm....
  14. Wow! I didn't even know that you were driving this year. Best of luck with your qualifying laps, man.
  15. Many thanks to Scott and Steve at NTB for excellent pricing and service on a tire set for the ol' LeSabre. I got hooked up with a set of Michelin Symmetry tires, alignment, lifetime rotate and balance, and full road hazard for less than I would have paid elsewhere for just a plain set of middle-grade tires without any of the extras. It was well worth the hour drive. N.B. This was also the shop that sponsored a CR cookout and burnout competition last year.
  16. You're quick, Jason. I had been watching the news for the announcement, but you got the scoop first. On the Mercedes question, what I heard was that the MAG owners approached Crown Mercedes with an offer to buy them about 2 months ago. My understanding was that Crown was for sale only as a package deal (with Kia and Chrysler), and that the Mercedes division would not be sold separately. Of course, things change, and you have to take into consideration that I'm getting this second-hand.
  17. Maybe CR should volunteer to help move the inventory from Marysville to Dublin ....
  18. I can't find any online or news confirmation for it, but I was told today by a reputable source that Nelson Lamborghini was just sold to MAG (Midwestern Auto Group) of Columbus. If it's true, MAG will have about every luxury/European marque except for Mercedes and Jag (Rolls-Royce, Bentley, Ferrari, Audi, Porsche, Volvo, VW, Mini, Lotus, Aston Martin, Saab, BMW, Land Rover, Maserati, and now Lambo). And I've been told Mercedes may not be far behind. Just in case you hate to drive around shopping for your DD.
  19. Let me help you with the concept. First, take your ADHD meds. Then, continue reading the rest of the line before coming to the wrong conclusion: We've got a chance on the 16th, but the Century will be away. Doesn't mean we can't all get together, though. There now -- it's easier when you break it up into smaller pieces, isn't it?
  20. Wow! You guys are keeping better track of this than I have been! Saturday looks like a pretty good chance of rain, so, no, not this Saturday. It's a shame, because the business willing to provide the dyno was good with this weekend. We've got a chance on the 16th, but the Century will be away. Doesn't mean we can't all get together, though. May 23rd is the CR car show. Everyone wants to do this and I still wanna host it. It would be so much easier to just say we're having it rain or shine, but what's the fun of having friends over for a car meet in the rain? It will happen. Keep the faith, my brothers and sisters.
  21. Hmmm. Could be. I did notice the windshied wipers on .....
  22. They say "Money talks," but offering a man half his asking price isn't even a whisper ...
  23. - rep for being influenced by Mike - rep for ditching the cafe bike for the Suzi - rep for dissing Team Output--they happen to be good friends of mine You and your vehicles appear a bit slow. You'll fit right in here.
  24. You're always welcome, Pat. It was last minute. I knew I'd have some stuff to wash today, but it was mid-morning before I realized how long I was going to spend at the garage ..... thus the offer to let others use the equipment while I was there. Funny thing ..... 10 minutes after I left at 3 p.m., friends from CR texted me and said they were coming over to hang out. :gone:
  25. Working .....working ...... Oh yeah, I remember now what that used to be like.
