  1. Good site, Carl. Your video was a repost from just a day or two ago: http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=99556
  2. Good intro, Alex. And you certainly have put some of your cars to good use. When you get back to Ohio I hope you can make it to some of our events. We've got a few rally enthusiasts here. BTW, thanks for serving. +rep
  3. great commercial -- and very cool that you keep driving your car all winter. I avoid salt with my "good cars" as much as possible, but they all get out at least every 3-4 weeks for a good run.
  4. The VW XL1 is the only hybrid I've been excited over: http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/2011-volkswagen-xl1-3_0.jpg It's a two-seater with an 800 cc two cylinder turbo diesel. It can operate in electric-only mode for an averge of 22 miles. 0-62 mph in under 12 seconds, top speed governed to 99 mph. On the European test cycle it returned 261 mpg. Roughly translated to real-world U.S. driving, the estimate is that it will average 150 mpg. It is confirmed to go into small-scale production next year but only in Germany. No word on whether it will come to the U.S. in 2014. 5. It's troubling to know that you think of your mother in those terms. http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/emoticons/confused0006.gif
  6. okey-dokey. now, there's interest--got texts. hangout will open as soon as I can get over there, probably 9:00 or shortly thereafter.
  7. The hangout can be opened if you need it. I was guessing that most guys were kinda worn-down from the cold and the traffic and would want to stay home tonight. This mild winter has us spoiled. Let me know if you want it open and I'll fire-up the heat.
  8. Trey (IV Rings) has helped a number of CR members. He's very knowledgeable, and a great guy, too. http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/member.php?u=2494
  9. Not just like it, but nearly identical. http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/batmobile.jpg
  10. I've got a copy of the 2011 ECTA 112-page (!) official rule book at the hangout in Delaware. I've been promised the 2012 book by the end of the month. You're welcome to take a look.
  11. MD Transmission in Delaware is about the friendliest transmission shop I know. The owners are highly experienced and they either do the work themselves or they supervise a third guy. I don't think you could beat their prices, and they are as honest as the day is long. They are across from the hangout. I know that Clay (Zeitgeist57) recently had some work done there, perhaps he'll pipe-in about his experience with them. They've worked on the my Viewt's CVT transmission and did differential work on the Toyota Century (who else in the U.S. can claim that?). Mark and Dave are the owners: http://local.yahoo.com/info-29213204-md-transmissions-limited-delaware;_ylt=AlhYVp14OEsc6.F5gUvce3SKNcIF;_ylv=3?tab=reviews#reviews
  12. Winding Road did a 4 minute walkaround video in Detroit, just in case you weren't psyched enough already:
  13. IIRC, Draco-REX enjoys helping people with computer problems as a hobby. You might want to pass his home number on to your sister-in-law. I'm sure he's excellent phone tech support. you can thank me later, Draco
  14. Agree with Jeffro. I tried a few different Hoggy locations (including the buffet at the Delaware one), and they just didn't stack up to City BBQ.
  15. I admit, I don't get it. Why would you spend hundreds of dollars on a wrist watch when your cell phone has a clock? http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/Celsius-10-6-2-phone-21.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/Celsius-10-6-2-phone-41.jpg The Celsius X VI II LeDix, complete with flying tourbillon. I wouldn't say it's useless. If nothing else, it's God's way of telling you that you make too damn much money.
  16. It'll be good to see some Chrysler 300's out at C&C. I've been thinking about swapping a 300 grill on the Bentley. Maybe they'll let me roll with them.
  17. Welcome, Tyler. You've got quite the car for a college freshman. CR has track days and a number of our members participate in or instruct in autocross around the area. I hope you can make it to some of our events. Good intro. + rep
  18. You really didn't expect me to wear a beanie, now, didya? http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/hatfront.jpg http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/hatside.jpg Chris, thank your Mom for me. She did a great job on the hat.
  19. I'm glad you all could make it to Delaware. I think we had 25 CR people total, but no more than 18 at one time. Thank you for keeping the cigarette butts policed at the front entrance and for keeping the shop dust off the office carpets. With all those people eating, drinking and smoking, there was essentially zero cleanup for me to do.
  20. Exhibitor fees are $750. I wonder how much I get to exhibit for that price.
  21. Those places may have great pizza, but I would have to side with the members who voted Wholly Joe's as authentic Chicago pizza. I lived in Chicago in the 1970's. Back then, no one outside Chicago really knew what Chicago-style pizza pie (we called it that) was. Wholly Joe's has regular, extra thin, and deep dish. Deep dish is the Chicago style I remember from my Chicago days. I'd call ahead because it takes extra baking time. The pic says it all: http://whollyjoes.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=34&Itemid=8
  22. If you get no nibbles, PM me and maybe we can make a deal and put it in the hangout.
  23. That would be great. I don't believe that either of you have seen the place. Tell him he ain't ever gonna be done with that thing. Scrub him up and make him take you to dinner.
  24. Nova is a lot of fun. But last time you said Nova and had me make reservations, you didn't show up. So you can make the reservations this time. I will probably be in Columbus earlier but will be back in time to open the place at 8.
