Welcome. Good intro I hope you make it to some CR meets/events/track days this coming season. If you do, don't be shy -- introduce yourself. You may be a few hours out of Columbus, but there are some great roads in-between. +rep

http://i355.photobucket.com/albums/r445/martyr65/1873.jpg And then last night i had that strange dream Where everything was exactly how it seemed Where concerns about the world getting warmer The people thought they were just being rewarded For treating others as they like to be treated For obeying stop signs and curing diseases For mailing letters with the address of the sender Now we can swim any day in november

Third posting of this, but some prolly haven't seen it.

I would agree with you on these points. To your first point, it seems as though almost every large shop has a few of these--cars they just can't get fixed. There's no defense for this. The dealer SHOULD be able to get it right. And on your other point, it was just rude of them not to have the initiative to have phoned you in advance to tell you of the situation and offer you some alternatives. It was clearly a customer service failure on their part that you left the dealership mad. A sincere apology to you for not calling you, an explanation of why that didn't happen, an offer to work with you on getting the service done (perhaps with a discount if you have to pay and a full reimbursement for you if Saab comes through with warranty money), and a pledge to continue to work with you in the future -- all of this would have helped soften the blow you got with the news of Saab's demise. If I get poor treatment at a big business like MAG, I make a phone call later to someone in upper management to give them feedback on why I'm unhappy. Sometimes it's really not the fault of the employee I dealt with. If there's a stupid policy, a faulty procedure, is just plain not enough staff to do the job right, I want to let management know that it's costing them in the customer satisfaction department. If, on the other hand, I'm so mad I won't go back, then I don't give them the benefit of the information. As long as it's done in a calm, reasonable way, it's surprising how much can get made right by voicing your frustrations this way. I suggested this to a friend who was unhappy with MAG, and to her surprise, the problem was completely resolved to her satisfaction and she came away very pleased with the perks they gave her for her trouble. I know where you're coming from, but I disagree. The guys at MAG aren't idiots, and they know that VW sales and service contributes more to their bottom line than does high end sales and service. Any smart business is going to pay attention to the bread and butter. Isn't it a little close to Christmas for you to be acting pissy? A see a lump of coal in your future, Grinch. Anyone who buys something a bit different, from a relatively low volume brand, runs the risk of being orphaned. But, being orphaned isn't the end of the world. Were you thinking of the word onus here?

That's such a coincidence .... I would have sworn I'd seen a thread just a few hours ago that this same thing had happened at the very same place http://www.columbusracing.com/forums/showthread.php?t=98845

"Light 4 Wheeling" around Columbus
Doc1647545523 replied to Bahnstoermer1647545488's topic in Passing Lane
I think the old slate quarry in Delaware is on the west side of Curve Road, just north of the intersection of Armstrong Road and Curve Road, isn't it Sean? -

There's a quarry just east of Delaware. I think Christian (ImUrOBGYN) might know about access and suitability--maybe PM him to see if it's what you're looking for. -
Silly lads. This type of kit is for someone who's trying to impress with appearances. I put it in the category of Cobra badges on non-Cobras, knock-off watches, cubic zirconia jewelry, and a huge roll of one dollar bills with a hundo wrapped around the outside. You're only gonna fool the fools. Anyone whose opinion you'd value will know that ice ain't real. I didn't buy the Bentley for its looks. I don't think the body looks all the great, frankly. I bought it for its power, speed, the refinement of the driving experience, and for the craftsmanship that went into it. If you don't happen to value those things, you'd be wasting your money on a Bentley.

Is there a count on how many want to go to the hangout?
-
Happy to open the place up if we have four or more. Less than that and it prolly isn't worth your drive up, although I don't mind opening it for fewer.
-
I will prolly swing by around 9:30 if it's not flurrying.
-
Too bad we don't have a place where we could just hangout.

I've tried experiencing Face Book but when I've asked at bookstores if they carry it in stock, and they just look at me funny and shake their heads. I've looked to buy one used, but they're never on Craigslist or eBay. I can't find it at the library either, but they have apparently moved the library card catalogue and I'm having problems finding any books I want. I admit I don't understand how a book can do all that the Face Book claims to do, but I'm willing to try it to keep me in tune with you young'uns.

I agree with the comments above. You can always send the email on to the PayPal customer service department and get their advice before shipping anything. Sometimes they deem a transaction "eligble" or "partially eligible" for fraud protection. In any case, their security staff will know more about the angles than any of us do.

2011 Rally North America official video
Doc1647545523 replied to Doc1647545523's topic in Pics and Vids
Not a problem at all. If we can find a date most everyone can gather, I'll be happy to host the group at the hangout. There is also a new Columbus team who are friends of Paul-Michael but not CR members. That makes 6 Columbus teams in all so far. -

Welcome aboard! Looks like we'll be having a CR posse on this one. -
Good intro. Sounds as though you've made a successful re-entry. I look forward to seeing you at a meet. Welcome to CR. +rep

When do you get rid of full coverage on a vehicle?
Doc1647545523 replied to Trouble Maker's topic in Passing Lane
I never buy collision insurance. Why would I want to bet that I am going to have an at-fault accident? Nobody's perfect. I did have an at-fault in 1976 and caused about $1500 damage. Considering that right now collision insurance on all my vehicles would run 6-8 grand per year, I'd say my decision not to have collision has paid off many, many times over. -
I'll open the place up at 9:00 or so. Any consensus on dinner? Hangout: 320 London Road, Delaware, OH 43015 park in front of building 100 there's a new smokers' station at the front door--please deposit cigarette butts there and not in the shrubs call me if you get lost 740-405-5565
