leaving in +/- 6 months. houses in my neighborhood sold over summer were off the market in about a week. I was going to shoot for a June 1st occupancy. Houses where I live often sell themselves. I don't want to sell too early because I don't want to have to worry about finding an apartment for a few months.

I'm thinking about putting my house on the market, I'll be leaving the country for several months and don't want to have to worry about it / pay for it while i'm gone. The house's value has increased almost $100k since I purchased in June 2008 so i'd be nice to get the cash back out of it. A couple of co-workers have sold their houses using only a real estate lawyer and have had success without using realtors, but I haven't talked to them in depth about it. Anything big things i should consider before I take on the responsibility on selling myself?

N/A Subaru that's had its head gaskets done is about the best winter beater option IMO. Parts are cheap and interchangeable. Tons out there that run +200k miles

Two car garages in German Village and Short North are very hard to come by without $$$$. A lot in German Village don't even have a garage. I live in the poor area of GV Heights aka "down the hill." Most houses have access to an alley. I have a detached one car garage and two off street parking spaces but a small back yard.
