  1. I know BMW is pushing diag teams at most of their dealerships. I would expect there are other brands doing the same thing. I don't know any locally but Id be surprised if there aren't a few. Maybe not GM but if you are great a diag you should be able to switch brands without too much difficulty after some training. I've worked with lots of guys that have done side work after hours in hopes of doing it as their main gig and/or transitioning into their own shop. None of it has worked out. Not saying it can't be done but its just super difficult. Mainly they just get burnt out before they are able to make it work. Along with the logistical, financial, insurance, etc, etc that everyone else has mentioned. My one friend even had some financial backing to start a shop and he still couldn't get started. I hope you find something that works for you. Im in a similar "stuck" situation at a dealership with minimal options aside from changing careers completely.
  2. $2k sounds fair. Ive kept my eye on the prices locally for a project I'm working on and you don't get much of anything for less.
  3. 2 nice 265/35r18 RS3's 7/32" tread 2016 DOT $100 for the pair. http://i.imgur.com/HBMvSps.jpg?1 http://i.imgur.com/ws0313G.jpg?1
  4. That looks great. Id like something like that maybe not quite as large. Feel like to have it built, floor put in, electrical and insulation is a second mortgage worth.. ugh.
  5. Great pictures. Thanks for sharing.
  6. Do you build a million dollar+ garage to house something that's just an asset? That wouldn't make good "investment" sense to me.. And do you not insure it for a agreed upon value? But I see what you are saying.
  7. But is that lust the same if you'll never get to fire it up and take it for a drive? It will most likely only ever get pushed around your garage and only ever seen if people come over to see it or maybe it'll get trailered somewhere. To have friends/family/kids get excited over seeing it, "Hey, awesome car, lets take it for a ride" "nah, sorry it cant be driven".. Like owning a boat that won't float, or a super awesome home audio setup that never gets to play music. But yes, to each their own if that's what they want to do with it. I'm just puzzled by it. I feel life is too short to acquire things of that magnitude only to never full enjoy it.
  8. I understand the history aspect of wanting clean vehicles down the road for generations to enjoy but I feel you can do that very well with low mileage cars. I'm not suggesting every hyper car gets daily driven. Just that it pains me to have a collection of cars that all have ZERO miles on them.
  9. that never get driven? Zero mile cars taking up space.. Maybe this is the wrong forum as it will be biased but I can't be in the minority here thinking its sorta silly. To have them just as an art collection, while I sort of understand I just think its a waste to miss out on everything the car offers as a machine and not just a statue. I was called out by someone who has a vested interest in an individual with these taste in cars. I just don't imagine most car enthusiast don't have a similar feeling. Thoughts CR?
  10. ha, no wife yet but she's got the fever. His job is on the fritz and he wants to eventually get a Cummins.
  11. Im not up on the pricing of these. I just told him I'd list it for him. I know he's somewhat negotiable, but yeah..

  13. We drove the Auto Road last Thursday while up there on vacation. Travis is crazy! The dirt portion is pretty sketch. I cant imagine doing it at the speed he did it. Its an awesome road though. It was about 85* at the bottom and about 55* at the top with 40mph winds. Crazy how the weather changes during a ~20 minute drive... or 5 depending on how nuts you are.
  14. Our dealership uses AAP and they seem to do a decent job or reasonable price.
  15. Text/Call my buddy Billy. 1.440.832.1505. Hes in Johnstown. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  16. Lol. Oops. I changed a few things. Price updated. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  17. I'm not sure why BMW does that. Our BMW cataloging for any wheel that was used for part of a winter wheel and tire package always says for winter tires only. Typically they are just narrower or sometimes black, grey in color. I'm not aware that they are made any differently than a similar "summer" wheel. I wouldn't hesitate to run a set year round.
  18. You might check with Eibach too. I did their lift struts on my Sierra and they were a little cheaper than the Bilsteins. They ride 100% better than the stock Ranchos.
  19. The Barn is east side, not bad. Cooper's Hawk at Easton is pretty decent. And I 3rd Cap City as always decent. The Top has some prix fix meals sometimes for around $40, be worth looking into. Sent from my SM-G930V using Tapatalk
  20. Saw a stock white one on 270 on the east side last week driven by a middle aged woman. I had to double take as you never see them.
  21. Pictures are awesome. I wanted to travel west again this year but my wife wanted to go up to Maine and New Hampshire instead. I always recommend renting ATV's or SXS's when site seeing. Its been well worth the expense imo. We rented them in Mexico, Lake Tahoe, Michigan and will be riding in NH in July.
