  1. That Unico place looks sweet.

We've been to El Taj in Playa del Carmen and one of the old Sandals resorts in Jamaica and I would choose Mexico 1000k times before going back to Jamaica. It was like half the cost and 2x the fun.

Jamaica just didn't do it for us. The resort was nice. The staff "acted" nice. The excursions were always packed, rushed and over priced. The locals were always hassling you for something. Just off putting for the money spent.

We chose not to do all inclusive in Mexican and it was the best decision we made. El Taj has large condo style rooms for pretty good price. So much to see and do outside of a resort. So many good restaurants and cheap activities in and around Playa. IMO the food at all inclusives is never awesome. Always just good.

I think its gonna be hard to tell how many people are gonna be at your resort. Some of the resorts are huge and it seems like no one is there and then a day later the place seems packed.

As my wife and I get a little older we tend to spend less money on the place to stay and more money on the activities, sight seeing and great food spots. just my $.02

    Enjoy either way.

  2. Not a stupid question at all. I plan to make a few different midpipe configurations to try, one being without an X. I'm expecting this X pipe to give it a higher pitch and smoother sound. The video in my first post of my chassis car's 180 degree headers does not have an X.

    Cool.

    Awesome work.

  3. Maybe consider a 2-3 year old truck? As others have mentioned the discounts on new trucks are good but they are still very expensive imo. I couldn't justify the price. Used prices are high but you can still get a lot of truck or quite a bit less.

I recently bought a 14 GMC All Terrain for roughly $20k less than the $47k sticker. Its not perfect but I figure its in about the same condition it would be in if I would have bought it new and used it as a "truck" anyway. The price difference will allow me to own it free and clear 2-3 years sooner than new. And I don't have to be paranoid about scratches, etc.

I do want to do something with the frame though. I'm thinking about taking it to those guys out in Xenia? and having it coated 2x a year or whatever.

  4. $79 is a good deal. Im sure its very similar to the one I got.

With that said, I used mine again this weekend to wash the truck. Its a hassle! I think by the time I get the damn thing setup, the soap cannon loaded I could have the truck half washed. It doesn't really seem to cut any dirt from the truck either. I still have to hand wash the dirt off of it.

Ill keep it around for other things but I just plan to bucket wash it from now on.

I may try and wash the brz with it as its way smaller and the paint has a nice sealer on it so maybe itll be worth it for that, but I doubt it.

  5. Should I get these wheels?

    Those procomps look nice.

I used a XD wheel similar to those on my GMC.

    Little different color scheme though.

  6. X1 - the X1 has been out in the US market since 2013. And has been in the EU market since 2009.

    You said "new" car.

    So new to her?

    Yes then you are correct.

    My wife has a 15.

And yes some early cars have timing guide issues.

They drive similar to an E90, so pretty firm, not cushy.

    Pretty proven chassis, etc.

We are planning to buy her lease out when its up if that says anything.

  7. By buddy and I always hang out at the Hilton. In past years Arnold has been there a time or two and its a cool people watching area. So last night we wondered down and found some seats in the bar area as always. There was a large table in front of us with some average looking people. I look a little closer at a guy in a hat. Oh hey, its Randy Couture. Him and his wife/gf with some other people I didn't recognize. Just hanging out having drinks like everyone else. I was a pretty big fan of his back in the day (like everyone else I suppose) I restrained from bothering for a picture as much as I wanted too. Fun night.
  8. Any feedback from the Sun Joe?

I used it last weekend to wash the truck.

Ill preface this by saying I dont think Ive ever washed a truck before. First truck, first wash scenario here. The truck is 3 years old and appeared to have minimal wax on it. Ill be working on that this spring.

The sun joe and the cannon seemed to do fine once I figured out what I was doing. There are a couple of adjustments on the cannon I messed with until I got it working correctly. I used Chemical Guys Snow foam (2oz) in the cannon and the truck used all of it to cover.

I thought I could get away without a bucket and rinse the mitt off with the pressure washer but that just doesn't work very well. So I ended up filling a bucket to clean the mitt off between panels. I will say it was nice to have the soap on the truck already and just be able to go at it with the mitt.

The frustration comes from the combination of the pressure washer itself, the stiff'ish wand hose, the power cord and the supply hose. I feel as though I was always getting something tangled or stepping over something. The pw hose is decently long but it doesn't self untangle if that makes any sense. I was always having to spin the pw wand around. And with a truck I had to move the pw itself a couple of times to get to the other side of the truck.

Overall, I think some time of saved on the actual washing but setting the thing up and then putting everything back consumed most of that saved time. I will also say the fitting where my supply hoes hooks up continues to leak. Not a big deal but it would be nice to have a leak free fitting. Ill work on that.

    Hope this helps a bit.

    p.s.

The warehouse deals Sun Joe I bought said "used- very good". It had actually never even been opened. Just the corner of the box was mashed a bit.

  9. My wife got me the milwaukee 2763 impact for xmas. (tool only) This thing is huge. I picked up a XC 5.0 battery for $62 on amazon. A guy at work gave me a spare charger. So I have about $250 in my setup.

Had I known this mid-range setup was coming out I probably would have waited, but I used mine yesterday for a quick wheel/tire swap and it obviously handled that with ease.

I have 5 or 6 Milwaukee M12 tools and they are all fantastic for a DIY home user. Many of my techs at work are buying the milwaukee stuff over the competition as well.

  10. Most all the parts for this should still be available. It would be a pain to get them (if the car was here) because of the BS BMW makes you go through to get non-US parts. I just helped a guy get the gaskets to do a reseal on his M1 engine. Hopefully in Italy its easier to get parts for a German car. Cool cars, nothing I lust after though.
  11. We moved into the area 2 years ago (this coming spring) and had a tough time finding anything as well. We sold ours in a week and needed a place so we didn't get a huge amount of time but I had been looking for a year before hand an there wasn't a lot available.

We bought a 1300sqft range on 2 acres with a 2car attached and 1 car detached for under what you're looking to spend. But it was built in 58 and the woman hadn't updated anything inside in years. It did have newer windows and roof though. We are happy here but I definitely feel like we paid a lot for what we have. Especially since Ive been dumping money into it to update it.

  12. I love it. But, I find it very similar to GOT in the fact that I have trouble understanding it all. The ~3 different timeline thing had me tripping for most of the season. I find myself having to read up on each episode to understand what my dumb self missed. All the acting is very very well done imo. The cool thing that I think keeps people hooked is there are lots of big answers to lots of big questions but just as many new questions arising. It doesn't drag out like some other shows.
