  1. Why not throw in a 2-mile run while you're at it?
  2. I just read this. How absolutely aweful! Ironically the guy who found her was a criminal defense attorney.
  3. Many firewood places do this. Back when I was logging we did a full cord delivered for $140, and it was a cord, down to the piece. I made plenty of runs to people's houses because they "weren't sure it was a cord" but it was worth the referrals and word-of-mouth business. If they start getting sheisty, take a picture with a measuring tape to document the quantity before you start burning. Legally if they won't make it right, you're going to small-claims. There are plenty of fly-by-night wood sellers. You could always threaten to report him for transporting emerald ash-borer, haha.
  4. I've never seen that plan work out for anyone that wasn't unemployed/bored off their ass. It just takes too much time to strip things down, especially if the car is old and things are seized/corroded.
  5. Might want to put up a sign for fill dirt, or check around craigslist or locally. You'll want as much dirt as you can get for a backstop, and plant grasses/ivy or some kind of vegetation on top of it to cut down on erosion. If you want to stay out of the mud, get some gravel put down at the back of the lanes as well. Just some ideas to get you started. I generally like to have a 25m pistol range, and at least 100m for rifle.
  6. If you plan on reselling it anytime the diesel VWs typically hold their value much much better. If you're going to keep it forever or drive regular miles, get the shitbox 2.5. The Jetta Sportwagen is supposedly not the shitbox US-spec crappy Jetta like the sedans are. Highly recommend against DSG for any modding though.

    Re-introduce

I don't understand, are you only here to sell cars? I'll give you $300 for the M5.

    do want!

You're thinking of Mercury, not Mercury Marine. It does look unpleasant to load and unload. And I wouldn't want to be towing thing in a crosswind! Great, now you can spend $1.7 mill and get those lovely interior pieces. At least it doesn't have a cavalier steering wheel.
  9. I think not! You sure it's a diesel? I think the redline on the diesel VWs is closer to 4500. It's been a few days since I've seen once though.
  10. Vortex is mostly retarded idiots. If you find it to be a waste of time try TDIClub.com.
  11. That's a pretty solid deal. That is a $400 optic by the way. Definitely a good starting point for someone.
  12. I wouldn't put a NV4500 in something to go fast. They are durable in my experience, and will last 200k+ miles behind a 454 with a monkey driving the shit out of them, but massive, heavy, and not as good as a t56 for you.
  13. The big companies seem to be the worst about this. When I was job searching i can't remember how many large corporations had year-old postings that had been filled long ago still up. Obviously they need more help if they can't manage their online presence.
  14. If you can't afford a real security system I wonder if you could use a cheap game-camera, the ones that take a picture when they detect motion? If you have any hunting buddies they might have one.
  15. There used to be a place in Tremont Center in Arlington that did good shoe work. Old mom & pop shop, but they did an awesome job resoling some vietnam-era combat boots, and a few work boots for around $40. Haven't used them in 10 years, but any cobbler should be able to handle this.
  16. Yay a sporty car without a totally garbage econo-box interior Oh wait, the mustang just got $5k more expensive

How many misses does it take to screw in a lightbulb? As they say, you can't miss fast enough. If you can point shoot something 20 feet away in the dark, good for you. If you aren't training with your pistol regularly enough like most people, good luck with that. Do this for me: Spend a few minutes shooting a 1911. Just a couple mags will do. Next pick up a glock, close your eyes and attempt to point it at an object 20 feet away. How'd that go? You really can't argue against a tac light or night sights on a defensive handgun. If it helps you get more hits and you can afford it, why not? If you're having so many problems with contact shooting, perhaps you should employ a taser, blade, or some other weapon. Pistols are underpowered anyway.
  18. You guys talking about spending $2k on a first AR (or even rifle) has me laughing. And yeah, LOL about a $2300 bushmaster. Sure, it could be a bushmaster stripped lower built up right, and sure the scope could be half or more of that price. I'd want all the specs before spending that much though. I'd highly recommend NOT buying a SCAR for a first rifle. You'd be better off spending half that on a quality AR (LMT, BCM, DD, etc.) and the rest on ammo and training... unless you want a safe-queen I suppose.

Try both and get back to me. Especially if you shoot a variety of platforms, things can point in wildly different directions and having sights you can see instantly sure is useful. For me, I can pick up a tritium front sight faster than I can get a light on, find the sights, and get them on target. If a light works best for you then great.
  20. Reading the article, it says ANONYMOUS info may be sold. It isn't like they're going to call the nearest trooper, and guide them to you for speeding. I'll agree onstar is screwing up here, but "Big Brother" can already watch you on traffic cams, satellites, undercover secret spies with webcams, and computer/phone usage. To think they even NEED onstar to follow you is even more silly.
  21. Maybe if I were going that fast all the time... Better get cages on the motorcycles. At the very least showroom stock cars shouldn't need any additional equipment, that's retarded.

Practice will help this problem. So will nightsights. So will a weaponlight. Don't get hung up on tactikewl accessory BS, especially for a defense gun. Go with something simple that works. Spend the money on training.
  23. Read that bit of wisdom again right there. Changing your routine before an important event is asking for trouble. It's nice of you to want to do something special, but I wouldn't do anything new within a few days of the dinner/wedding.
