Would $20k pay for an engine over haul on something like this if lets say, a wrist pin broke. Or a trans rebuild if 3 teeth got eaten off the planetary? I apologize for the dumb questions. I am just trying to see how far $20k goes in this world I will never afford to be a part of.

That's what I figured...so $20k is like a drop in the bucket for anything major that needs fixed on a car like that. Better than nothing though.

serious question because I am a little retarded...how much money do these guys have into these cars? I am sure $20k is a lot of money to most of us in here, but how far does $20k go when reinvesting back into one of these cars? I would imagine that $20k would disappear really quick into one of these things.

Serious question: what makes you say that? Powertrain issues? I HATE the way the 2015 looks compared to the previous generation; so does it have fewer mechanical issues?

Popped my HG last Friday at the track at the top of 3rd. So count me in that group.

I used motoman's method on two motors. this current one, I beat the snot out of it from the moment it started and I had air bubbles out of the system and the rings were seated in 10 miles.

Forgive my ignorance; I know a lot of people run "diesel" oil's in their gas engines, but what specifically makes a "diesel" oil just that, and are there any negative side affects to running a "diesel" oil in a gas engine, specifically pertaining to emissions, (where they test here annually)?

Are you talking about the body, or undercarriage and bumpers? The body on my 91 GSX is very clean. The undercarriage however have rust on the rear suspension components, and crash beams.

The only concern for me when driving a vehicle is salt. If I don't drive a "nice" car in the winter, it's because I don't want rust. That is one of the few things IMHO that TX has going for it...virtually no rust on the cars down here. So this past Feb, I said fk it and took my nearly mint, built GSX out in the snow and ice several times. My only reservation about doing that up north would be, as I said, salt=rust.

Well, I'll be at a track on Friday, but it won't be Norwalk, maybe next year.

I would buy this JUST to drive it in snow.

Every Ford and Chevy I have owned started having some kind of issue in the 40,000mi range, give or take a couple thousand depending which vehicle we are talking about. If you are spending $40K on a new Ford, spend the extra cash and get the best extended warranty you can. (That's what i'll be doing when I get a new vehicle.)

Man...i'm supposed to hit the track on Friday on my new setup, and while my car can't hold a candle to something like this, vid's like this always freak my out a bit about pushing my car as hard as I can...

Im excited for it, not $42k excited for it. I'll wait a few years for the problems to work themselves out and prices to come down. Intriguing car though.
