If starting a family, the schools is definitely something to consider. It doesn't really play a role in my personal decision making because our children will be home schooled; however, for most people, that would understandably be a huge factor. Some may say DeSales is right there so private schooling is an option, but, some of the biggest whores, drug users, and drug dealers I knew were preppy white kids from affluent families that went there. I would never send my kids there, ha ha.

Can't tell if serious, or trolling. The assumption that all low income people steal and sell drugs is completely ignorant. We were poor when I was a kid. We never stole anyone's stuff or did/sold drugs. BTW, I know people/kids who were well off and I can't say the same for them.

Why does that matter? If I make $30k/yr and you make $100k/yr, i'm not good enough to be your neighbor?

car break in and house break ins happen in ALL kinds of neighborhoods. Again, I live in prissy suburbia where my vehicle has been gotten into twice in the last 3yrs. That ish wouldn't deter me from buying a place unless it was on a mass scale.

I have spent half my life living in "the hood." The other half living in white suburban areas. I have more issues with people in white suburbia than I ever did in the hood. Just sayin'. Go spend some time over there and talk to the neighbors. Get a feel for the place then make a decision.

It seriously breaks my heart to see this happening to people, and gives me a sense of shame for sitting here in my AC office, typing on the interwebz, and thinking about taking my block to the machine shop on saturday for my "fun weekend car." Watched a Vice doc on HBO the other day on bonded labor in pakistan...we are truly lost as a race when we can treat each other the way that we do. Not just abroad, but domestically as well.

I hate it here in TX, but that is one thing I can't complain about, rust free cars. It's nice going to the junk yard to pull parts and not getting rust in your eye.
