The VW guys definitely do some things I would have never considered, and push the envelope; some of it I do like a lot. But I guess when you have that many people trying to be creative (and some getting somewhere), you'll always have some that just don't pull it off. Retarded offset and tire fitment will never become cool in my book though. No sarcasm right? Because I totally agree, despite seeing the need to be original... it just doesn't fit. That is just beautiful. I don't care if it's not the fastest thing in the world - I would happily rock one any day of the week.

I might have seen you before; I know I've passed a few MR2's around here. Although I have only lived here for about a year and three months, and don't know many people in the UA/Grandview area.

His setup: 18x8.5 wheel with a 205 and 18x9.5 with a 215. I would shove my fist up my ass before putting that kind of a setup on any vehicle I own. Stockers on our 90-96 Z cars (on the front) were a 16x7.5 wheel with a 225. To run a 9.5 wide wheel and a 215 shows that you have less intelligence than an empty trash can.

They are sooo hot. There's a black S5 down the street that I see occasionally; a friend was going to buy the guy's 911, so while they were out I hung out in his garage admiring it for a while. A5 or S5... the coupe is just plain gorgeous.

Definitely let me know. I wouldn't mind meeting some of the local VW crowd. That would be GREAT. I'm not doing it myself, and was looking at a local VW/Audi specialist. I'm at 66k now and I hear that 70-80k is when most people do it, but that still makes me a bit nervous being new to VW engines.

I'd like to, but the site doesn't help - I registered and emailed people, but never got my account activated. Kind of hard to be active.

If I can fix my vacuum leak by then, I'm definitely down for some pulls. Will probably be there regardless though.
