  1. I'll be honest and say it; they look too stupid for my taste.
  2. I'm just laughing at seeing that image twice in a couple minutes. Made my night.
  3. So I just flipped on Rides on "HD Theater" via DirectTV. I've never watched this show but once before, and thought this would be good. Well, there are definitely some things that I have to chuckle at... and had to share. First, they're at a dyno with a Lexus GS300 (I believe that's the one with the V8) and the announcer is talking at the speed of smell about how "this car is going to be driven all the way up to the speed of 100 mph, which is a lot of RPM for a car not moving an inch." Yes, because gearing has nothing to do with RPM... good call. Then I get the idea of what the episode is about. They are putting the V8 from the GS model into an IS300. Nevermind the motor that is in the IS... or the one quite frequently dropped into it from a certain other RWD Toyota beast. Then they go on to complain about how hard it will be to fabricate new headers, make the engine fit, give it more power, and then of course that "the V8's airbox is so large, so we'll have to make a custom air intake." Sigh. I'm no master mechanic, welder, automotive designer, etc. but this just seems like a lot of hand-holding for viewers and a lot of really dated ideas. I'm not in any way talking down the V8 option... god knows some of my favorite cars are powered by such, but come on. Sorry, had to share my frustration with a simple tv show. I'm over it now. 4. A good friend of mine in Tennessee has one that he uses as a second car, but daily drives a lot too. The only thing I hear is about how little storage room it has in the rear. After driving them a few times though, I wouldn't second guess getting one as a DD if the price was right. I love them.
  5. Meh, there's nothing wrong with knowing the current limitations of the car. I'd rather have a lower power car that's more street-friendly than something that can't get traction worth a damn at WOT. Enjoy it how it currently sits and just plan for the next stage of power and power-handling upgrades.
  6. When Jesus isn't riding a raptor, I bet he'd rock those on the water.
  7. I need to go do that someday soon. Since I started out at 3150 or so... hmm.

  9. You'll find one in place of your spoiler.
  10. I'm ordering a roll this weekend - no joke.
  11. +rep for the engine in the kitchen and having a good attitude. Welcome.
  12. I probably shouldn't, but... Rectum? Damned near killed 'em! Except well, you know... it did.
  13. When your village has just arrived at the technological tipping point of 1942, a crappy Photoshop job will blow you away.
  14. No joke. I can't believe I didn't think of doing something like this. http://www.failsticker.com
  15. I'd have no debate over rocking one as a[nother] weekend car, with the track or AutoX being its main home. Having driven a '00 Celica GT-S many times (father's DD), I can attest to the motor being rev happy. I think it would be a great time in that little featherweight. I agree with everyone else though - it's made to be a track car that's livable on the street, no vice versa.
  16. Nice car. The front fascia isn't my favorite, but there are lot worse out there... and well, as long as you like it that's all that matters. It's refreshing to hear about a purposeful-built GSR. Welcome.
  17. I like the exterior. That's about all. Seats look rigid and uncomfortable, and I'll be damned if I buy a track-ready Lotus that will also tell me when to "green shift" for best fuel economy. I'm tired of this technology that is designed for the lowest common denominator. I don't need my car to tell me every single thing about the outside world while I attempt to save gas and drink my 160oz Coke. That said, I'm totally down with considering materials used in the economic equation for greener vehicles.
  18. I will haxor them. Teh internets are not 1337.
