  1. yeah, that's what i was hinting at. i'd probably need a welder too, since they perform better welded on than bolted on
  2. i hope to get on the dyno but with as many people that are planning on a dyno run... see you there doc
  3. I would definitely be up for this. They had something like this when I was in the Army, stationed at Ft. Huachuca, AZ. It was on base, so there might have been some different policies in regards to insurance, but it was the same basic idea. Come in, use lift, clean up, done. Question for if you get the insurance thing sorted through... is it a chassis/frame lift or do you drive up on it? I would be needing the kind that sets the car on its own weight to install some subframe rails.
  4. This is exactly what I was going to say. When GM took Saturn from being its own brand to turning it into just another re-badging, that's when it started to fail. Don't get me wrong, I think that the new Saturns are some great cars, but no better/worse than the Malibu/G6/Lacrosse/Acadia/Traverse...etc... I definitely like the Sky, but again, it's just a Solstice in Saturn garb. The ION is a Cobalt, yes, but it still had some areas where it wasn't just as obvious as a Cobalt/Pontiac G5. But you are right... nothing in today's Saturn brand is Saturn anymore.
  5. hey, i know i am not supposed to post in newb threads (:gone:), but i think i might know this guy (or his car anyway) i was at precision autosports in beaver creek a couple weeks ago and i could have sworn i saw this exact car - same year, same front grille with no license plate and same color, and the rear license plate did have svt in it. talked to the owner of the shop for a few minutes and from what i remember, i think it is a stock ls1 with ls6 (?) heads and some different cam and a return style fuel system in addition to the sts turbo. i don't remember the exact numbers but i think it's 550-575 whp and 6xx wtq jeff from precision said the owner was from here in columbus... and his name was pete... and how many blue `02 camaro owners have an sts turbo kit...?? just sayin.... i'll :gtfo: now...
  6. hey man, nice car
  7. thanks guys. that friend that i had that fucked his timing up.... well he ended up blowing a fist-sized how through the block. don't know if it was timing related or not - he had the timing chain set 1 link off for 300 miles and then fixed it right and blew her up... idk that made me paranoid as fuck but so far she's still running good. un-tuned she pulls hard as fuck with a 10.0 a/f ratio... just wait til i get tuned
  8. Thanks. i've only got a few pictures of the install but it was definitely a learning experience
  9. UPDATE : Piston install is completed and timing is set. Not nearly as difficult to set timing as I thought it'd be. Now I'm in the break-in period on the rings, and should be tuning for power soon. Thanks to Gearhead for the helpful pictures. The reason I was so paranoid was because I had a friend with an identical Saturn try to set timing and fucked it up. But all is good with mine.
  10. hey whats up ya'll 26th April 2009 12:22 PM for the last time stay the fuck out of other noobs threads! no one cares about your 2 cents, take the hint or never come back to CR (<---quoted from rep) please tell me that's a threat... because that would be fucking awesome. brilliant display of your e-thuggery. now just sign it so you can take credit for your awesomeness. and OMG!! how did i not see this coming? you've run out of insults on me, now you're going to bash my car...
  11. well, first off, i don't know too many that can afford a $70k car that would be stupid enough to take it in the snow or mud. hell, if they can afford this car, they can afford a second vehicle, 4wd, that could be better suited to snow. second, whether or not nissan really intended for the "launch control" to really be used as launch control... they never stopped the press from advertising it as such. they also never said anything when motor trend, car and driver, and whatever other magazines tested it, in their presence using the technique. in fact there are several articles from when the GT-R came out that had nissan engineers on hand for the mag's testing the car, showing the testers how to use it. they would continue letting the car be advertised as such and not say anything, then when trannies started breaking, they suddenly said "oh, it was never intended to be used that way, it's not launch control, it's get-out-of-snow control - you're fucked on your $20k tranny" nissan still = fail
  12. this has always been my favorite gen eclipse. GL with the sale free bump
  13. Omfg! I misspelled a word?! I'm sorry, I must have been stitching myself up from where I cut myself earlier, must have hit the wrong key with my sutures.
  14. Wow you guys really amaze me. You all need to come down to earth, pull your heads out of your asses. There is no reason to even be arguing about this. And then to say "seriously, gtfo" as if its a cardinal sin. Lol @ all of you. (except firehead)
  15. I am an idiotic ricer because I posted in 4 newb threads where there is supposedly an unwritten rule that newbs can't post in other newbs threads because said newb has only a certain amount of posts in this forum so that must mean I am worthless. Sorry I didn't catch that in the unwritten rules thread.
  16. shit-stain?? did you think of that all by yourself?
  17. as if i give a fuck about neg rep? what's that going to do, make me lose sleep at night?
  18. wow... what a stupid unwritten rule. i don't remember getting bashed in the 3 other newb threads i posted in
  19. Nissan = Fail.. it's just a coincidence that the "launch control" that isn't really launch control helped to make the car go faster 0-60...
  20. here, i'll quote you to make you feel important
  21. it's just cause my car's silver, huh?
  22. wow... i thought my intro was bad...
