Grand Touring - B, but based on the pictures that's an optimistic classing. I don't see anything there keeping it out of Improved Touring, where it might do much better. But it looks like it's just a shell with a cage. And the cage looks oddly small. And it looks like a Golf, not a Rabbit, but I don't know much about these things. Might make a good starting point for a cheap enduro racer. eta: Thanks for the heads up Turbs.

Lol, I'll PM you, anything to get rid of these... adorable children.

Meh, tempers are heated after an accident. I don't expect people to behave perfectly. Hell, just this morning I cussed at my kids for spilling my coffee all over the carpet. I don't feel particularly great about it, but I'd hope someone wouldn't judge me as a parent based on those 10 seconds.

The Teins made small bumps slightly worse, but weren't so much stiffer that they overwhelmed the stock shocks for bigger bumps. Put it this way -- I noticed it but never really cared, my wife didn't notice it until I pointed out like a year later that I had lowered it. For the money (I think I paid $100 for them used) I was pleased.

When I was 6 or 8, I opened my mom's car door into the side of a beautiful red C4 Corvette. Put a nice chip in the paint. I was mortified. The old guy smiled and said, "It's just a car." People have given me plenty of breaks when I've needed them most, and I'm in a position in my life right now where I can afford (financially and emotionally) to let a lot of stuff slide. I don't think that makes me a victim, I'd like to think that it makes the world a better place; maybe this guy will let something slide when he finally gets his shit together and can mange it. (Queue CR calling me a hippie queer ) I see your point though, and in this case I think I needed the CR hammer mentality -- the car really does need to be fixed this time, and I'm not so well off that I'm willing to pay out of pocket to cut this schmuck a break on his insurance rates. eta: Thanks Doc.

I lowered my Corolla (yeah) with Tein S-Techs on stock shocks, and my Mazda5 is pushing 50k miles lowered on H&R sports with stock shocks (and recently did a day at Mid-Ohio). And that's a car that people claim the rear shocks blow every 30k miles at stock ride height. If the Teins really are that cheap then I'd say you can't go wrong. And if you really want to replace the struts, meh, Monroe makes a fine strut I'm sure. eta: Just budget for an alignment like others have said.

Thanks guys, claim has been filed. This should be a slam dunk.

Some guy didn't yield at a yield sign and sideswiped my wife: http://i.imgur.com/f07a62uh.jpg He started yelling at my wife, saying it was her fault (it clearly was not). Because of that, we waited for the cops to show up; I figured if there was a police report there'd be less of a chance that his insurance company would come after us. The guy left shortly after I said that after giving us all his info. When the cop showed up she said that if she filed a police report he'd have to get a citation, and so I wasn't going to bother because I figured his day was bad enough. But then she ran his plates and wrote one up anyway because he was driving on a suspended license. The damage is only cosmetic, it will mostly buff out but there's some big shallow dents as well. The van is a 2006 with 130k miles. I'm on the fence about filing an insurance claim to have it fixed; on the one hand, I don't really care that much, and it's one more thing to pile on a guy who's having a bad day. On the other hand, it's not my fault dude can't drive worth a shit. WWCRD?

They could have just re-aired old episodes.

+1, I love my neighborhood but you'd be adding a needless river crossing every day without any real benefit.

I live in Upper Arlington, so I'll take my bike to Whole Foods and leave it unlocked on the sidewalk because nobody's going to steal a ratty old bike here. I might lock it up in Clintonville. That's about the only difference I can think of. I can't imagine telling anyone to "stay the hell away." Drive down High St this week, between Henderson and, say, Dodridge. Pull into some of the side streets to drive past some of the houses. That will tell you everything you need to know. ETA: Clintonville is Columbus Public Schools, so most people with school-aged kids and money move out at some point. The neighborhood is a good mix of everyone else. Hippies, old people, blue collar, hippies, white collar, college kids, and hippies.

That's what the current science shows, yes. A person can be biologically transgender no matter what society decides to refer to them as. A person cannot be biologically transracial because they really can't even be biologically racial; race doesn't exist outside of society's labeling.
-
There would be no shitstorm.
-
Did I miss a shitstorm when scientists looked at DNA for genetic differences between in race?
-
Science! tl;dr: there's difference in the brains of transgender people. Biologically, you can have a penis and woman-like brain, or a penis and a man-like brain, etc. And that's not even getting into people with genital differences (you can have both, for example). We're all just bags of meat after all.

It's the sliding scale of pointlessness, though. If a C5Z is only a few seconds slower than a GT3 for half the price, and a base model C5 is only a few seconds slower than a C5Z for half the price again, and .... That's how I ended up with a Miata

Why is that an issue though? It's because everyone says that she's self identifying incorrectly. You can't think she's wrong if you don't have a "correct" category in mind. Which isn't to say that she's allowed to self identify as whatever she wants as long as the rest of the world works this way. She checked a box that she doesn't have a right to check, and she's been duly raked through the coals for it. But isn't this really all a bit silly?

"For the money, though," is the saving grace of every Corvette owner.

Race is a human construct with no clear definition, and even our "I know it when I see it" understanding of race is based on a pretty disgusting history of racism. Nigerian kid name Kevin adopted by white parents, grew up in some 99.9% white suburb, listens to Barry Manilow? 100% black guy. Extremely light-skinned kid named D'vonte with 1/8 African American heritage, grew up on the south side of Chicago and doesn't have any white friends? 100% black guy. White guy name Travis with no African American heritage, grew up on the south side of Chicago and doesn't have any white friends? 100% white guy. Makes perfect sense. One drop rule and all that. That said, this woman clearly has issues. If we're going to have a discussion about how stupid our compulsion to categorize people is, we should ignore this person and find someone better.

Did you watch 24h Le Mans this past weekend?

Anyone know where I can get a half pallet to tomorrow?

Your argument was that FPH didn't violate the rules. Do you disagree with the evidence that was presented? Is there a mea culpa forthcoming? Do you know acknowledge that FPH violated the rules, but are simply moving the goalposts so that your argument is now just that they enforced the rules inconsistently (which I've already admitted may have merit)? Then great, the Reddit admins are inconsistent. Call that hypocrisy if you want. Woopty doo. But that's not really what happened. What happened was that a bunch of knobs went on a rampage about how Ellen Pao is a cunt and a bitch (your word) and a Nazi. For enforcing the rules inconsistently. On a free website. Makes sense. And you've decided to hitch your wagon to that train.

Great, post a dozen examples of r/SRS harassing people outside of its own borders and I'll support it's banning. Hell, I'd support its banning on much less if it's as worthless as you say it is. Thing is, I've never seen r/SRS on r/all, so it's not as visibly shitty. "There are other shitty subs that weren't banned" is not a defense of r/FPH's behavior.
-
There was a post on r/OutOfTheLoop that got linked to r/BestOf that listed out a good dozen examples of FPH harassing users outside of the sub. You can argue that Reddit has not been particularly great about enforcing their anti-harassment rules consistently, but I'm not sure why anyone would waste time defending the shitlords. If you're willing to look around, there's plenty of evidence to justify the banning. r/FatLogic is a decent sub, r/FatPeopleHate just made Reddit worse. Good riddance. eta: This may be it, I'm at work and I can't follow the link.
