Aww, that is not a MR2 wheelie, this is: Wow, simply nuts from a 4 cylinder car.

Technically the Euro plate is not legal. It is a legal plate for a different country probably for a different car, or if it was on your car originally, it is no longer current. So you are driving with either an expired Euro tag or an illegal one off another car. On top of that you have 2 tags on one car, sort of like driving around with a Ohio plate and a Michigan plate at the same time. How did you come by it?.

I have an air tank, harbor freight $20 special and a small 5 gallon compressor. You can borrow any of them, but I live in Dublin. The harbor freight special is great, although I think it is $30 normally, the one I have.

Wow that computer is over kill. You don't need to spend $1,500 to keep a computer for 7 years. I just built a new computer for $550 with 4 gig of ram and a good video card (I play a lot of FPS). My old computer was still fine for normal things (single 2.54 gig, 2 gig RAM), the video card was AGP on it and would not run today's games. I built that one in 2001 for $600 and used it for almost 9 years. Honestly, even multi-tasking with multiple windows, video and photos, I never get near using the full 4 gig memory. I don't see a monitor on that list? You could get a nice 22" or a set of dual monitors and knock the computer speed down a little and still have money left for a turbo.

Ha, that was great! Man, don't play drunk or you WILL throw up.

I did not see it! That is sweet! Imagine going there for a visit.

I put my old truck on craigslist with lots of pictures and a 3 paragraph description. After 2 weeks I only had 2 emails on it. I took the ad down, put up a half ass 1 paragraph thing only saying the year, engine size, 4x4, and the mileage with 2 pictures and I had 10 emails in the first 3 days about it. Go figure? It was a '91 with lots of rust, guess that demographic was not into reading. You should have lots of pics showing the car and a few of the artistic ones.

My local guy said the one on the Mr2 was worth about $40, it is small. I let him cut it off and weld the pipe for free in exchange for it.

Man, that is awful! I wonder who's insurance is going to cover that? In most cases it is not about the money though, it is about the time, effort and pride that is invested in those vehicles, and that can not be bought back.

I found this a long time ago and posted it under my youtube account: Sick what he does at the end.

You can do it with a long exposure, but like this image has, some ghosting. Here are two ways to do it with an SLR: 1. Set the camera on a tripod with a long exposure or better yet the "bulb" setting on your SLR. You need a portable flash, one that mounts on the top of your camera is ok and a friend. Open the shutter with the bulb setting, flash the flash manually in your hand. Walk in front of the car or object and have your friend flash the flash again from the same spot it was fired the first time (above the camera is ok). Then close the shutter. You can also flash the flash on the object, walk in front and hold the flash in your hand, flash just your face or waist up and you will have no legs. 2. This one is a bit harder and you have to have a film camera. Set it up on a tripod. Take your light measurements and divide them in half. For example if the light meter says to use a 1/30 shutter, use a 1/60. If your camera says to use a 2.8 f-stop use a 4. Take the picture, don't move the camera. Then wind the film canister side tight with the manual wind arm so there is no slack in the film canister inside the camera. On this image it is on the right side of the picture: http://gearpatrol.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2008/05/vintage-canon-ae-1-program-slr-camera1.jpg Then press the button that allows you to rewind the film. Hold the rewind handle (the knob in the right of that pic) while you advance the film with the normal lever (the black lever on the left side of the picture). What you have just done is fool the camera into thinking you advanced to the next frame, when really it just stayed in place. Take the picture again with you in the image. Since you took the same picture twice, that is why you have to half you light settings. Just half one, the shutter speed OR the aperture setting. Again, the first one is the easiest and can be done with a SLR digital camera. You can have a blast flashing random things in the bulb setting. You will get some neat effects that can't be reproduced in photoshop. All the filters and techniques in photoshop came from film and the darkroom. I worked with black and white photo for about 5 years developing my own film and pictures. It is a lot of fun, but hard to do with the digital age.

A 4x4 dually? How would that be better then a 4x4 Blazer? The dually has more tires on the road which is less pressure on each one. I have never gotten a FWD car stuck in the snow on a road, only jumping snow banks. No worries, not enough snow around these parts for it.

Got the MR2 sitting for storage in the garage with some cat foot prints on it. I just never get around to putting the cover on it. I have the battery out and in the basement and I charge it every few weeks. http://img683.imageshack.us/img683/1401/img0521uq.jpg ]http://img11.imageshack.us/img11/4383/img0518gr.jpg

That is amazing. I watched a documentary on the History Channel about the Joe Kittinger jump. He talked about how his glove got a hole in it and his hand swelled up and was frozen. In the end it worked out, but talk about nuts. Back then doing the tests they did on the rocket sleds and the X-1 plane, just nuts doing what they did! Him, Chuck Yeager, and others risking their lives for the advancement of technology. -
Heat pumps suck when the weather is below 35 degrees. I have one and if the temp outside is below 35, I have to put it in "emergency mode" which is basically a giant space heater in my furnace, never warms the house. After running for 3 hours when it is 17 out, the temp only goes up 5 degrees. I would never put a heat pump in a house I own. My electric bill goes up about $60 in the coldest months with the heat pump for about 1,000 square foot place.

Wow, not bad at all. Lots of highway miles, that is fine with me.

In my old rental I blew insulation into the attic area on about 1,000 square feet. I put in 13" on top of the ~6" of fiberglass that was already up there. The total cost was around $450 including the cellulose and the blower rental for the evening (landlord paid me back). It took my friend and I about 4 hours total and I had paper boogers for 2 days after. Over all not hard. For what you are having done, that seems like a great price. To take off a piece of siding, drill holes, blow it in, just easier to pay a professional. You don't have to worry about tearing any siding or making things line up again. If you damage your siding and it is old, could be hard to replace and then it might not match. Plus the rental machine only has a 4" hose on it, so you would have to fabricate an adapter. This machine also did not "throw" the insulation, it just sort of fell out of the pipe so I don't know if it would go into a wall easily. Some things we can do, but pros are just worth it (like mudding drywall). I was paying about $150 a month in oil heat. Unfortunately we did it in November and then that winter it was about 15 degrees colder then the winter before, so comparison was not in the cards. I know our bill did not go higher though.

I know in the MR2 world people love the Eibach springs. I have the Tokico struts. I like them a lot, BUT they are also the only thing that I have had on the car (except 17 year old blown OEM struts). I have tracked the car and I can adjust them a little. My model only has one adjustment. I bought em used from another guy, so I don't know how old they are or the model. I am happy with them, nothing to compare them too. Feels like the car is solid on the ground and I get good feedback when the car is going to slide.

Boosted, I never met Roger Wade, although I did find his old space heater and a picture of him when I was cleaning things out. I also found some mechanical drawing done with a T square and triangle from 1989! It was neat. TurboSpec, I had one of my students who used to race his Revo down there. Just so many neat hobbies and just not enough time or money. I only have a $400 heli and I can't see spending the money to get a decent running car up for that. Looks like a complete blast though! I do have a Traxxs Stampedee from 1994 or so that still runs. It has a brushed motor on it, they did not have brushless when I bought it! Trouble, Ski Patrol, I was actually thinking of joining ski patrol. Last time I was up there I spent about 2 hours talking to a guy named Ted or Tim about it. His dad also works ski patrol. Tim works on Fridays from open till around 7pm. He has a 2 year old and lives east on 36 from Marysville. It just seems to be a big time commitment for the summer when I am off. Hard to travel if I have a 3 hour meeting every week, but I will see. Man that Ray's place is sweet!!! I want to go up there for a weekend, wow. Thanks for that info. Stimmel, Thanks for the warm words. Seem to be a lot of Mustang guys here. I grew up with a mustang, my folks had a 1990 7up Green convertible with the 5.0. It was an auto and slow, but man did it sound great! I loved to drive it! Finally talked my folks into selling it. I said to my dad in '07, either put new tires on it (originals were still on it), change the brake fluid, tranny fluid, and drive it, or sell it. So he sold it with 17,000 miles for $11,000.

I have been to Alumi Creek. I really enjoy it. Phase II is great. Phase I (intermediate) is a is ok, but too many roots. I think a group ride would be fun. What is Ray's? Here is a video of my dog and I there: I have been to Mad River once, I almost left after 3 runs. The lifts are really really slow. Can't beat the price of only $20 for a day, but much of that was spent on the lifts! There was wonderful snow, I 3 weeks ago when we had that snow storm and all the schools closed.

Ha, yes new to CR not central Ohio. I do enjoy Ohio. I have found a great group of people over at the MR2 world who live local and I am hoping to meet a few more through here. Honestly maybe some people to spend a weekend at Mid Ohio with. The people here are much more polite then back east and there is plenty to do here, it is just not as easy to spot. Biking, thought about it. Maybe I will do that. I am getting stir crazy now with limited winter activities here and a lack of snow. Thanks for the input and kind words.
