  1. Stay away from 42%. I've heard good things about the ASP pulleys. Never looked into the Steedas but you'll probably pay an extra 20 bucks just because it says Steeda somewhere on it. In the end, a pulley is pretty much a pulley. I'd get whichever one is cheaper.
  2. Another idea to add to your list, get an intake manifold off a Ford Windstar. Believe it or not they broaden your torque curve and up your peak torque by around 10 lb/ft ish. You can find one at your local junkyard for cheap, and port/polish it to fit the ports on your motor.
  3. Possibly a repost, but I just discovered this for the first time, thought it was rather insane. If this is a repost, mods please delete.
  4. +1 Most of the electronic shit now used to be mechanical and worked fine when it was. At least if it didn't it was a lot easier to fix than now. Part of me thinks we're just over engineering everything for no reason at all at this point.
  5. If this is the care they take with the cosmetics of the appliance, who knows how many corners they cut when they were repairing the electronics. +1 for Return it.
  6. Win. If that had a better sound track that might have been the best youtube video Ive seen all month.
  7. Ill take it off his hands if he pays me...
  8. +1 to a harddrive reformat. A lot of those viruses might be embedded deeper than you think, and I don't know of an anti-virus or anti-malware program I'd trust enough to take EVERY single one of 90-some viruses off your computer. If she does any kind of business, or keep any kind of secure information on that computer I'd just wipe the disk. It's a pain in the ass but it's guaranteed to remove all of your problems, where as any protection program still runs the risk of not recognizing some of the threats.
  9. Thats pretty sweet. A world without mosquitoes would be a much better place anyways.
  10. Thread over. I'll be trying this tonight.

  12. Probably. He certainly didnt sound like he knew what he was talking about enough to work at a performance shop.
  13. Either way thats fucking awesome.
  14. You can't make that shit up. Theres some weird ass people in this world.
  15. I loves me some STi. Boxers are fucking awesome. Ill ride shotgun with you on some shenanigans for sure.

  17. That was kind of a given. I ment lolz oriented slogans.
  18. Toyota's new slogan: Moving Forward. (Whether you like it or not.) What should Honda's be?
  19. I would guess so. Part of the point of the show is how dangerous the job is. Besides, I'm sure Captain Phil wouldn't want them to cancel the show about this large part of his life over his death. If anything continuing the show honors the man and the profession alike.
  20. Rofl nice. Ford= Fire On Road Daily?
  21. Yeah, Im a Freshman living in Lincoln Tower. Either the Probe will be mechanically immaculate or I'll get something reliable for a DD before I go turbo. Nothing funnier than a guy without wheels because his "DD" broke down and his other car is in pieces.
  22. I should hope so. That car needs it with the eleventybillion hp its putting out.
  23. Wow. So each engine drives the wheels it's over? Is there any way you could link the transmissions to one common shifter so the car is easier to drive, or are they already linked? I couldn't tell.
  24. Auto. The factory T5 in these cars can barely handle stock power. Id have to auto swap or put a Tremec 3650 or 6060 in if I wanted to go with anything much more than I've got right now power wise. The auto in the v6 trim is the same as in the GTs, and are good to way more HP than I plan on running through this thing. These cars run 15 seconds flat stock, so theyre not as slow as most people remember v6 Mustangs being. The Probe is manual, and yeah the GT probes are 24v Mazda motors. Not fast, but it runs pretty reliably and gets out of its own way so it DDs nice. Gearhead: The fastest v6 S-197 car I know of was a 10.91 (maybe 10.97), on twin turbos and a 75 shot of nitrous. Stock internals as far as I know. The guy later swapped a 5.4 into his car (he blew his motor apart a few runs after he broke 10s) and still hasn't broken his V6 record with his new motor. Thanks again for the warm welcome fellas.
  25. Thing is, I got it at a good deal, and the difference in price between what I paid and what I would pay for a GT is about the same as the cost of everything I want to do to it...so I'll take my lower insurance / better MPGs and slightly more unique car for the same money spent overall. That and turbo 4.0s have been known to run low 12s fairly easily, which is a GT + bolt ons. I believe the record for a stock internal 4L was somewhere in the 10s on twin turbos and nitrous. Im not looking to make a drag monster out of it (id buy a 5.4 or wait and get a new 5.0 if I wanted to do that). Just a nice quick street car that goes to the track every once in a while is good enough for me. Thanks for the welcomes, seems like a pretty cool site from what I can see so far .
