I know alot about my car, inside and out. However, I am a greenhorn when it comes to the dyno and laptop tuning. Until now, I never had any experience on those platforms. I'm not gonna let the little setbacks discourage me. The car runs killer and I'm sure its gonna work out eventually. Boost was spiking a little today too. When it starts acting like its gonna go past 20lbs. and keep climbing everyone gets a little "aware". Better safe than sorry at this point. But like I said, car runs killer on the street as is which tells me things will only get better.

Dyno vidz from today. They are very short and not really that good but they are car related so I thought I'd post em. http://i1039.photobucket.com/albums/a473/KD93R1PB/th_001-4.jpg http://i1039.photobucket.com/albums/a473/KD93R1PB/th_002-7.jpg http://i1039.photobucket.com/albums/a473/KD93R1PB/th_004-2.jpg http://i1039.photobucket.com/albums/a473/KD93R1PB/th_005-6.jpg http://i1039.photobucket.com/albums/a473/KD93R1PB/th_006-3.jpg http://i1039.photobucket.com/albums/a473/KD93R1PB/th_007-3.jpg http://i1039.photobucket.com/albums/a473/KD93R1PB/th_008.jpg

Project today, dyno tune car. This is my 3rd trip to the dyno. Came really close to gettin it right today except we could not get the AFR to come up no matter what? Laptop software would not do it? Car seems to run fine once you start rolling but is extremely rich at idle and low rpm, non spirited driving. My Autometer AFR guage usually reads in the low to mid 10's at idle and low rpm driving. Its funny because I can be driving normal, low rpms and the AFR is nice, like 14's t0 15's and as I am driving, without changing throttle position, just cruisin the AFR starts going back to the 10's and 11's? Think I need to clean out my wastegate too. It is really carbon'd up especially w/the car running so rich (seperate issue). Also, dyno sensors confirm very rich conditions and its numbers are right on w/my guage. I guess to much is better than not enough, but this is a little to much. http://i1039.photobucket.com/albums/a473/KD93R1PB/th_007-3.jpg

Turbo is GT35R. Wastegate is Synapse 50mm. I drove the car today, seemed fine except I didnt get on it at all, but the wastegate is shut. I was wondering if my AEM Truboost controller can hold it open? Oh yeah, turbo and wastegate have 2k miles on em, maybe. I think the boost controller was holding it open or it just stuck from debris. However, since I never experienced this before, I could easily be wrong. Want it to be right though, hittin the dyno Friday.

Just wondering if anyone has experienced a wastegate that just sticks open? I was driving, accelerating normal when I noticed the car seemed a little louder exhaust wise. Then I noticed I seemed to have stopped building boost. Pulled in the garage, checked vacum lines etc. and all seemed ok. I could hear an obvious exhaust leak around the exhaust manifold. I put my hand in front of the wastegate out port and it was open no doubt about it. I came inside and had dinner. Went back out, started the car and it seems to have closed and sounds normal. I took a closer look inside and it is pretty black, carbon build up I assume. Guess I should clean her out. Is this normal w/a wastegate?

Oh yeah, I also sell new snowplows, parts and service too..... Is there gonna be any kinda last of the year car event close by or should I wait for spring???

I wasnt thinkin about the fuel rail needing 4 bungs, dah... I'm makin up some #6 braided hoses now, they are a pain in the ass. Was gonna post more pics of my project but I guess I should only make one post per project. I like the yellow. My buddy Paul, whos FD just got a port/rebuild by me loves the yellow.

Was thinking about removing the vacum nips, just never have. Would look even cleaner though I agree. I did the rebuild including the porting. Zavier from the RX7 Store does my tuning on Brians dyno (DynoTuneMotorsports). I really aint into 4 injectors on the secondary rail right now, but that sounds pretty sweet. When I do change that I'm gonna get the LIM from Pineapple Racing that is made w/4 injector bungs in it, one for each port. Dont think I've seen your ride unless I've seen it at the RX7 Store.

Fabricated aluminum fuel lines being installed w/alum. hangers/spacers/fasteners. OEM plastic covers will be reinstalled w/spacers and new fasteners. http://i1039.photobucket.com/albums/a473/KD93R1PB/FabalumhangersunderOEMones.jpg Fabricating aluminum hanger brackets for additional fuel lines. http://i1039.photobucket.com/albums/a473/KD93R1PB/HardlinescomingupfrontunderFPR.jpg New fuel lines coming up (hex caps under FPR). http://i1039.photobucket.com/albums/a473/KD93R1PB/FuelfilterforPUMP2.jpg Ref pic, number 2 fuel filter. http://i1039.photobucket.com/albums/a473/KD93R1PB/CustomaluminumbracketforPUMP2sfilter.jpg Ref pic, number 2 fuel filter.

I'm adding a second high-performance Nip-Denso fuel pump in the tank. Fabricated #6 hard aluminum fuel lines (feed & return). They are mounted directly under the OEM hardlines (over-under design). I fabricated some .125 aluminum hangers similar to the OEM ones utilizing rubber clamps, spacers, and misc. fasteners. This is turning out to be quite a little project.... http://i1039.photobucket.com/albums/a473/KD93R1PB/Refpicbeforefuellinechanges.jpg Starting 2nd in-tank fuel pump project. http://i1039.photobucket.com/albums/a473/KD93R1PB/001-3.jpg Fabricated No. 6 aluminum fuel lines w/No. 6 AN swivel nuts. http://i1039.photobucket.com/albums/a473/KD93R1PB/CustomaluminumbracketforPUMP2sfilter.jpg Fuel filter for 2nd pump mounted. http://i1039.photobucket.com/albums/a473/KD93R1PB/PUMP2sfilter.jpg Ref pic filter for number 2 fuel pump. More pictures coming soon......

Wow, I've never rode in a super car. I'd love ta have one for a Saturday.

My first car was a 1978 Datsun 280Z. It was Dark British Racing Green. 100% bone stock. 4-speed, fuel injected, w/AC. It was my dads weekend car and I talked him into selling it to me on payments. I got it in 1986, it had 33,000 some miles on it. Looked like new and smelled like new inside too. Wish I still had that car I tell you what. Learned my lesson though. I will never get rid of my FD.

Been in the garage. Fabin up some #6 aluminum fuel lines. Had to cut, bend, double flare, etc... Addin a second high po Denso in tank pump to guarantee more than enough fuel. I am gonna post that build thread. I wish I would have joined CR earlier. I really appreciate all the positive feedback. I plan to be a member as long as CR exists. Wish I could have an avatar though. However, I'll be patient if thats what it takes. Took me 3 years to decide on these wheels. Custom made in Japan, took 4 months to get em. Anyway, heres that side view. http://i1039.photobucket.com/albums/a473/KD93R1PB/003-2.jpg

Other than the RX7 Club, this is the only one I'm on. I wlll make a build post w/some descriptions, etc.. Thanks guys. I like the CR so far and am enjoying it.

Sounds cool, but what exactly do you mean. Could you give me an example. I just wanted to make some posts. Guess I dont really have to many great things to post. Do you mean like I would start a post that says put pictures of your build here? I assume you were being serious.

Just installed a new AEM TruBoost boost controller I got from the RX7 Store. Its in the A-Pillar below the wideband. I am very impressed w/it so far. Much more control than my previous HKS one. http://i1039.photobucket.com/albums/a473/KD93R1PB/Nightimeinside.jpg http://i1039.photobucket.com/albums/a473/KD93R1PB/Nightpic.jpg

I can weld that up for you. I would need to see it to say for sure, but if it is where you can get the welder in there I dont see why not. May need to vee out the crack a little, maybe not, and clean up the alum. w/some acid. I dont like to guarantee anything alum. especially cast but have done it many times w/success. You would have to bring it to my job (I-71 & Greenlawn Ave.) Monday or any weekday. Be glad to help. Cheap, cheap too.
