I have been to Autointrests, gridlife, porsche club, BMW club, scca PDX and NASA track days and they all offer great events. Schedules are listed on their websites.
I have ran XP8, 10 12 and 20s all with great success in different situations on the track. Never for the street. Any hawk pad HP+ and above will have corrosive dust that causes rust and oxidation on wheels and paint if left on. Carbotech does not and just wipes off. Any agressive pad will leave dust.
Car only seems reasonable as a fourth or fifth car. I would need a fun car to drive and a car with some utility before I get one that does both half ass. Pretty lame otherwise.
Mine had the issue really bad. I had to really drain the slave cylinder and used good fluid. Lingenfelter makes a really fancy and expensive spring to help.
