  1. I will see if I can dig it out and get a pic of it tonight for you.
  2. I as well like where this project is heading. I have an old air compressor you can have for the tank if you like. It is only 10-15 gallons (no markings) and I need the regulator, but the rest is yours if you want it.
  3. Is moving the engine up going to have any negative effect on the driveline angle, or is it not significant enough to make any real difference? Interesting build btw, I don't think I have ever seen this swap done before, but I am admittedly not a VW guy myself.
  4. What year did Dodge start using composite valve covers on these motors? I have an 01 Durango that has the magnesium valve covers and I believe one is warped (new gasket but still leaks) but new composite ones are around $100 each. Not that I am opposed to spending that much to repair it, this is one of those parts that I don't mind getting used to save a little money. Tia.
  5. If you keep saying "what?", do they eventually get it?
  6. My bad, I missed where this one is an auto.
  7. Was trolling craigslist and saw this ad: http://columbus.craigslist.org/cto/4873122002.html Seems like the guy is looking for what you have for sale.
  8. No worries, I was just trying to clarify what I was saying a little. As for your motor, idk why but I was thinking it was a stock bottom.
  9. Isn't op asking about what engine to use for a racecar? Besides I said that this is what I have heard (which, Grant, you left that out when quoting me), I was not stating it as a fact. However you said you should be putting down about that range on you're car? I guess we can wait and see how it holds up. Fwiw, my motor for my car is getting forged internals, this will not be such an issue for me (more worried about the trans and rear end holding up). JP, care to weigh in on this? I know you have done some budget 4g builds in the past, maybe you have some insight you can provide.
  10. I hope he only gets what is necessary and donates the rest to a charity, if not then he is going to need to move at least.
  11. They may as well not even have the flaggers, nobody pays attention to them anyways (pisses me off because I actually pay attention to the rules).
  12. I would go 4g myself. The rule of thumb I always hear with them is the stock internals are good to 600 before things start going bad. With rods and forged pistons you could go further, and they handle boost very well.
  13. No prob, always happy to help a friend.
  14. Most things are designed with the hopes that they just outlast the warranty. For most companies a warranty is just a money maker.
  15. Complaining that the guy walks to work for 10 bucks an hour? At least he is working instead of living on government assistance... As far as the charity going on for the guy right now, I doubt he asked for it.
  16. For the dealership to sue wouldn't he have to be saying something that is untrue? Seems to me the car is wrecked and if it was in posession of the dealer at the time, I don't see how he could be sued. Maybe there is more to it though.
  17. They might be able to help him with a trade in? Sure, they can offer him pennies on the dollar for that car, put him underwater in another new car then fix this one and profit even more...
  18. 25k? He ought to have enough with that to buy a house closer to work...
  19. Try turning the motor over a little and see if it does the same thing. Also check the routing of the positive wire, when I had this problem with my old Camaro the positive wire had melted because it was too close to the header and when I hit the key it would ground to the header instead of turn the starter over.
  20. All you guys getting excited about getting 8-10 inches this weekend and now it's not going to happen.
  21. Don't a couple from the board live out there? If they are close to the PO I would send the title to them so they can have the guy sign it for you in person, then they send it back. Thats only if there is someone living close to the PO though.
  22. So nothing like an Italian tune-up then. Sounds pretty mean for not putting their full effort behind it.
