  1. That can be categorized as yawn-inducing news
  2. My case is nowhere near yours and I have not delved into registration further, but I expect the title transfer is without a problem since it already has an Ohio title. As far as insurance goes, my agent told me that Hagerty would insure it for a set value; granted that it would be insured as a show car with certain limitations. The insurance company (Travelers) that cover my other cars wouldn't insure it for some reasons. I would likely move my '96 to Hagerty if the premium was lower.
  3. Natural gas consumption for my 1996-built, 2116-sqft, 2-story (with basement) home is surprising to me. It has a gas-powered furnace, a gas-powered 50-gal water heater, and a gas-powered dryer, yet last month usage was only 89 ccf. Keep in mind that this is a house with original windows, mostly with blown seals. According to Columbia Gas, a comparable efficient home (top 30% of similar homes) uses 121 ccf on average and the similar-home average is 138 ccf for last month. There is an explanation, I just don't know what it is.
  4. I looked for one in the middle of '19, most were priced in the $40-50k range and some in the mid $50k. One dealer in Ohio had a used '17 or '18 ATS-V Coupe (manual) for over a year; the price was reduced about $9k and it still took that long for the listing to finally disappear. I love the way the ATS-V Coupe looks especially the black one.
  5. There's a JDM dealer in SC that I found interesting from the standpoint of the owners/purveyors. Their current collection doesn't have unusual cars like Pao-Rasheen-Figaro, but half of them are interesting to me.
  6. That's basically buying the VIN plate and the title. The rest can be parted out or as scrap. It is a weekend project in a way, a very expensive one at that.
  7. This reminds me of Indonesia. USD is a commodity instead of currency. A new, crisp $100 bill is worth more (per dollar) than a smaller bill in the same condition. The coins are unwanted and the $1 and $5 are worth much less. Every time I went back, I brought brand new, sequential $100 bills so I could get more in local currency.
  8. I do understand, my post was meant to be taken light-heartedly
  9. My buddy, Julius Poa, can do vinyl wrap now. He's also mobile as long as you can provide an enclosed and heated space to do this.
  10. Damn, dude. That was a low blow.
  11. Trying to sort out the '96 LT4 even more. It's leaking oil from the front of the engine and I'm not sure about the location of the leak. Also, I'm considering revamping the suspension by going with coil springs.
  12. So you were saying that CR, at this point, sucks.
  13. I'll pass! On a slightly different note, you have access to used cars from the southern states in your travels. I'd look for one in non-salted areas. Another option is to find JDM Samurai (RHD, Jimny) which usually has turbocharged 660cc. The RHD part may be a hindrance and price level is definitely higher than just a couple thousand, however, resale value may help.
  14. So mine has 25% more engine displacement and 50% more gears (with shiftable Sport mode!). I'm going to lay waste of the first generations. You guys better not use the excuse of broken engine torque link before being obliterated.
  15. I'll bring my '16 Ford Transit Connect. You guys better be ready ...
  16. I can use the pair on the right, they fit 5x4.75. I'm going to pass on the 14x1.5mm lug nuts, I don't have a vehicle that uses that size anymore. How much do you want for the spacers? I'm mobile during the day and I can pick them up at a location of your choosing. Please let me know at 614-Z06-VETT (614-906-8388).
  17. If the bore is smaller by a few millimeters, I can deal with the problem. Thanks.
  18. I'm looking for a pair of 1/4-in wheel spacers to fit my C4. Center bore needs to be at least 70 mm. Alternatively, a pair of 3-mm or 4-mm spacers will work too.
