Thanks for the info, I'll pass it on to him!! Hmmm wow I didn't know such a club existed!! Thanks for that info, I'm not sure if he knows about it either should definitely be a good resource. So is this a body shop mainly??? Or does he get into some performance aspect of the cars/do mechanical stuff too? Thanks for all the info and recommendations so far guys!!

Hey everyone, a friend of mine has a 68-72 Oldsmobile cutlass with a 455 bored .030 over. Not 100% sure on the internals.... He said it has flat top pistons, solid cam(comp of some kind) with roller rockers and a set of edelbrock rpm heads with the rpm intake. Has a Holley 750 carb on it, hooker longtube headers. The guy who originally built it for him years ago seems to be too busy to want to mess with it now. I'm trying to see if there is any good recommended shops or people out there that have some expertise with these cars and could help him get it fine tuned and running right. Any recommendations out there?? Any help is appreciated thanks!

Also used habitat for my inspection last week. Everything went good, Mike did a great job on my inspection. No complaints at all.

One of my customers I have done a lot of work for had one installed. He always got the top of the line stuff though.... I don't see these working good unless they are fed by natural gas. An all electric whole house one would be a pain and a waste of time I think. The one he had was supposed to be like 85-95% efficient with natural gas. The plumbing that had to be installed for it was a little tricky it looked like. He had a circulation pump hooked up inline and the heater would kick on and run the pump every half hour or so to keep the water constantly hot and ready. As far as I know he hasn't had any complaints about the system really.

Not necessarily from the primary wiring..... I'm guessing it's all tied to a general lighting circuit so it could have came loose in another switch box that is still actually working. If it was the feed you would probably have lost a lot more lights.
-
Also how many lights are in the bathroom?? A vanity light, then the fart fan/light in the fart fan?? Everything is dead right? How many switches do you have? How's the switches in the hallway, have a set of 3-ways I would guess??
-
First place to start is pulling the cover on the switches. Check for any power in there at all. Older houses can be very tricky as to how they are wired I have seen all kinds of different things. The newer stuff most decent electricians have a pretty similar way of doing things, especially with the new codes there's not a lot of different ways to do it. As far as black (hot), green/bare (ground) white (neutral) I definitely wouldn't use that as the end all be all. It's a good guideline but older stuff normally has a lot of backfeeds (white wire being hot). To me this sounds like something has come loose, a wirenut or junction somewhere.

Some forums I'm on swore I seen some guys saying 800-900$ for a set with there pricing. For that little difference I would probably go with ID'S. But if the set you're using works good then that's another nice option!
-
Hmmmmm for 100$ per injector you can get a set of ID1000'S......
-
Hahahhaha yea I think he nailed it too!! He won't steer you in the wrong direction!!

Just checked Glenn's site...... 16 gallon tank with baffles and whatever size fittings you want, can still put stock gutted hat into it for sending unit. 400$ not to bad really.....
-
Yea pretty much a stock tank that's sumped, then use a stock hat just for the sending unit. Put a -8 or -10 bulkhead in it for the return line and cap the rest off. Then feed the large single pump and call it a day. You said "stock tank and pump" you won't have any sort of stock pump..... Been a while since I looked at the Glenn's sleeper stuff, but if you can put a stock sender/hat in it then that's what you want. It's sumped and ready to go I do know that....
-
If your serious and have the money to spend definitely injectors dynamics. Deatshwerks also have some good stuff that works/tunes well but isn't priced near as high. I would try to avoid going crazy with the triple pump crap..... It can be more of a headache and less reliable than its worth. The sump setup is going to be better and simpler but make sure you get a good pump so you don't have to worry about overheating bs, Weldon or magnafuel both work great. Line setup like Brian said. You should be able to wire up a stock fuel sender on any sump setup to work also.....
-
Yea but it also changes the fan speeds right? I know the older/less technological stuff has the blower resistor you are talking about but I'm not really sure on the newer digital stuff. It could be all electronically controlled. Have you tried checking the Audi forums? I'm sure someone there has probably ran into this.
-
Hmmmm it has some sort of digital display/control for the fan and a/c? Almost wonder if it is messed up or something?
-
Yea Andersons usually has it for the cheapest I think. Columbus car audio also has it some more finer stranded stuff..... The price also goes up quite a bit though.
-
Yea guess I shoulda put that I tried that already.... Was hoping maybe someone was there yesterday and they had a flyer saying closed or the hours today. Searched all over and found nothing about holiday hours. Thanks for checking into it though!

Damn just seen this also, was really hoping to see your work in person. All good though definitely have to keep your health up and keep enjoying life! On another note.... Still would like to have someone buff/polish/detail my vehicle.... Any recommendations on other people in this same line of work that you feel would be able to do a great job also??? Thanks and good luck with everything!

Had the top on my foxbody done here, very reasonably priced and did excellent work. When I purchased the car the owner gave me a top he had purchased with it. Gave this top to Jim's trim and after a few days of fightning to Make it fit they called and said it just wasn't going to work and was a crap top. Ordered a new one from 5.0 resto they put it on and didn't upcharge me anything. Very honest and good people to work with.

Hmmmmm the gas bonding is a pretty easy fix if the panel and gasline are both accessible. The grounding and 3-4 wire thing sounds kind of odd to me..... If it was just a room addition or something and they installed new wiring into the old panel it shouldn't be an issue...... The only time you really have to worry about seperating the neutral and ground wires is if there is a subpanel installed. Then yes it does need to be seperated in the subpanel. As far as the codes and things go, it's really up to the people doing the loans and all that. Technically anytime you do an improvement that has some sort of a permit pulled the area being worked on has to be brought up to code. But they can sometimes make you do other things to the rest of the house.
