  1. I just got back from Vegas on Sunday and we had an amazing time. You can have a blast in Vegas on a budget if you do some planning. Try to minimize your cab rides because cab rides can really add up in Vegas. When taking cabs at night try to avoid the strip because if you get stuck on the strip the meter is still running. You may find the cab driver driving directly behind the strip and it might be a slightly longer distance but it usually is cheaper based on the meter compared to strictly time. I will NEVER let a cab driver take us through the Interstate 215 tunnel because this is generally a sign that they are running you up. The Deuce is a good recommendation providing you do not have to be anywhere quick...The Deuce stops constantly for pick ups and letting folks off the bus. If you are in a hurry I would skip the Deuce but if you are wanting to see the some sites on a budget the Deuce is pretty cool. As previously stated, check out the Bellagio water show, the Bellagio Garden which is directly inside the front entrance behind the lobby. There is a tram between Mirage and Treasure Island which is handy during the day especially in the 110+ heat. Venetian is amazing inside, walk through "Lik" studio if you are a fan of gorgeous landscape photography. The Hard Rock Hotel is NOT on the strip but if you want to see some cool rock displays it is a very neat place. When you take a cab out of the Hard Rock Hotel, don't leave using the front entrance and instead go out the new section in the back and you will be skip the long cab line and it is slightly closer to the strip so you might save a buck on your trip back to the strip. The breakfast buffet at Planet Hollywood is outstanding and if you arrive about 9:30 to 10 a.m. after a night of crazy fun you will also have access to lunch food as well as breakfast for a lower price. If you are planning on hitting the Beatles "Love Show" you want to be around section 209 row M or N. Closer to the stage SUCKS and you will miss most of the show and think of it as sitting in the front row of an IMAX theatre...my nect hurts just thinking about it. Have a fantastic time!
  2. If you have marked Apple off (even used or remanufactured) off your list take a look at Lenovo. We have a few of them in our office and they have been solid machines.
  3. Amanda - The Whirlpool Duet pedestals are beige and they are really nice. The model of the Whirlpool Duet electric dryer is GEW9200LT2 http://www.knoxcountyohio.com/agent_files/Stuff%20I%20am%20selling/Sam%20Miller%20Whirlpool%20Duet%20%20Electric%20Dryer%20and%20Pedestals.jpg
  4. Neat car and the warehouse of spare parts is crazy cool. I loved when they were talking about the front fenders and the difference in pricing...supply and demand obvious at work!!! The Delorean is a neat looking car but it was very weak in the horsepower and performance department. I always thought the Delorean robbed some styling from the Bricklin SV-1.
  5. I have a full size Whirlpool Duet electric dryer for $300. Also have the matching pedestals and will take $200 for the pair. $400 for both pedestals and the Duet dryer so I can clear some space for another hot rod project. Only reason selling is my wife wanted new when the washer acted up and as the saying goes "Happy Wife, Happy Life".
  6. The New iPad would be my first choice and I mine every day. 1. Superior screen resolution which is great for displaying photos and video. 2. TIm's idea of using an Eye-Fi SD card works great. 3. You can add an external SD camera card adapter which works great as well. 4. The Camera card adapter also enables you to quickly and easily bring in other non photo files such as PDF's. I use a really small portable battery powered scanner and they work great together which comes in handy while I am on the go. 5. eSign by Landtech is a handy app for having clients and customers sign releases, contracts and disclosures. 6. You can display photos and play your iPad directly on a TV with their adapter. Hope this helps and good luck with your new venture.
  7. Killer video and 750 horsepower in a CTS-V is a sleeper by my standards. A handful of people would expect it to be quick but they wouldn't think this car is capable of 10's with tires or low 11's as is. I love it!!!
  8. $3.50 is great because I have a bunch of bottles that need filled.
  9. John - I ran this S-10 a ton at Pacemakers and 42 http://www.sammiller.com/afw/SamMillerTruck2l.jpg http://www.sammiller.com/afw/SamMillerTruck1l.jpg
  10. It reminds me of Nick Scavo's 69 Camaro but Scavo had purple stripes. http://www.knoxcountyohio.com/agent_files/Cool%20Cars/NIck%20Scavo%201969%20Camaro.jpg
  11. Erik - Do all older nitrous bottles have to be recertified before refilling?
  12. Wagner - I agree and I LOVE IT! In my eyes it was the most impressive car of all the cars at the event. Lutz's car is insane but it is not a street car in my eyes, Parker's car is wicked cool and crazy fast but Kyle's car is a serious surprise. I saw it from a distance and pulled a serious rubber neck and headed right for his pit area for a closer look. I probably visited his car 3 different times Friday night.
  13. John - Jeff was there and he spent quite a big of time at Kyle's trailer hanging out with a few of the Lancaster boys. I talked with Jeff for 15-20 minutes and it sounds like he is into the diesel scene in a big way. I remember Jeff's Vega well and I have a feeling you and I may have met back in the late 1980's early 1990's. At that time I had a blown 79 Camaro tubbed / red. Did you work at Jegs back when JJ was there?
  14. I wanted to check with the group and see if there is a forum member or forum sponsor that everyone goes to for their nitrous bottle refills?
  15. There were tons of really cool cars at the King of Columbus event at National Trails last Friday night. Kyle's 1969 Camaro was by far my favorite of all the cars at the event. If you haven't seen this car up close it deserves a few minutes of your time and it retains the feeling of a factory 1969 Camaro Z28. Jeff Dean told me that when Kyle picked up this car he couldn't believe that Kyle would actually buy it because it is in such poor shape. The rumor is that Kyle and his father have been working on the car for quite some time and they are still shaking the car down and fine tuning the setup. Friday night he ran very low 5's and it looks like Kyle's Camaro might have high 4 second potential...it is an AMAZING car and a very well thought out combination. The fact that it retains a passenger seat is very cool and the way he ran his intercooler lines is another neat touch. If you get a chance to see this car up close I think you will be impressed with the attention to detail. http://www.knoxcountyohio.com/agent_files/Cool%20Cars/P1000115%20(2).jpg
  16. I just scanned through your photos and your Camaro is going to be a seriously wicked ride.
  17. Thanks for posting the LS link. I have some interest in building an LS engine for one of my projects and I have a feeling your link will come in handy.
  18. Special thanks to Nick for hooking the group up in company suite!!! It was great meeting everyone and thanks for making me feel welcome at my first CR event. Sam Miller
  19. I took this photo tonight in Mount Vernon just a little before 9 p.m. using an iPhone 4S and the TrueHDR app. http://www.knoxcountyohio.com/agent_files/Mount%20Vernon%20Ohio%20Sunsets/Mount%20Vernon%20Ohio%20July%2026th%202012%20after%20the%20Storm%20by%20Sam%20Miller%20resized.jpg Not sure about the rest of Central Ohio but Knox County experienced some heavy rain starting around 4:30 p.m. and we had some really high winds. For a few minutes I thought we were going to experience a repeat of the storm we had just a couple of weeks earlier.
  20. Can't make this one but am wishing I could attend.
  21. Tim - You took a gorgeous photo tonight! We still had storm clouds here in Knox County at dusk and I have a feeling we may get hit again later this evening.
  22. J - Your Saturn sounds like a really cool project.
  23. Your engine build is looking good and keep the photos coming.
  24. Tim, Thanks! The 14mm 2.8L will be the primary lens and we will have to do a little post editing but am guessing it will be far less than we are doing currently with the 10-22. I am hopeful the full frame will help us capture slightly better interior images especially in lower light rooms. Thanks again!
  25. Thanks for sharing the progressive photos of your build. Looking forward to seeing it continue to take shape.
