  1. So long winded response Got everything wrapped up minus the minor stuff Brakes Got a wilwood adjustable proportioning valve installed, I went to bleed the brakes only to get to the end a the LF to realize I was dripping some serious brake fluid, after some brief panic of realizing it covered my freshly painted bay in brake fluid I determined that the leaky fitting was a result of improper packaging at JEG's. The proportioning valve uses 5/16-24 (IIRC) and the fitting on said leaky fitting was what seemed to be a m10x1.0. Close enough to feel okay, but not work. When I put it in it seemed like it didn't want to snug properly, but I didn't want to push it and strip the threads. Anyways after a pissed few moments I drove 1.5 hour to Jeg's and bought a new one and didn't raise hell about the old one since I wasn't sure at the time if it was my mistake or theirs. Turns out I had my receipts and it wasn't me, awaiting their response to my request for a refund on that. Fuel System I am running a single 044 in tank, -10 feed splitting to 2 -08's, one feeding each side of the rail, and then a single -06 return. I got it all plumbed in which was joyous as it was my first experience using AN hoses and I chose not to buy the "right" tools and put most of it together with what most people would consider shadetree methods. Honey Badger. Once it was all ran I just jumped the relay to get constant on to leak test the system. All was well until about 3 minutes in, I noticed a super slow leak from the filter housing. No big deal, tapered NPT threads so likely not enough teflon tape or I didn't eat my wheaties. I laid down on the ground to peek closer at the filter leak and I quickly heard what I presumed to be Niagra Falls coming from the tank, I took a quick look back... I knew this pump moved some fuel but jeeeeebus. I wasn't expecting to see a gallon on the ground already. I sprung into action to promptly hit my head on the floorboard and ran to rip the pump wiring apart. I dropped the tank and realized somehow an adapter fitting wasn't tight that I remembered telling myself to tighten back in like 2014. Resolved those issues and no leaks now (or ever I hope) ECU So when I bought my ProEFI I got it used on eBay and had no real proof it was a working unit at the time of purchase. I didn't really check to see if it worked until Saturday (well over a year past the time I could have filed a PayPal claim) and fortunately it worked after having to go through 3 different versions of firmware/flashing. I initially tried to connect in "Online" mode which basically just allows you to read the ECU as it sits just to make sure it gets power, and when I did that I got nothing but "Please make sure ECU is turned on" which made me instantly think it was a junk box since I got a smoking deal (at the time). So after admitting defeat and more importantly admitting I had not a fucking clue what I was doing with anything that isn't OBD2 related I drove to Columbus again to abuse a friends knowledge and kindness to plug my box into his known good harness. He put his ProEFI experience to use and got mine loaded up with a "good" base tune. Back to Dayton again. Wiring I got my engine harness second hand off of another friend on the west coast who had an 88 as well and ran the same ECU. Only issues I had were me switching to GM IAT and CLT sensors for more refined measurements since the stock JZ sensors suck, after all they are mostly older than me. It was basically plug and play minus a few connectors being replaced and a few small touch ups and adding powers to injector and coil relays and wiring in my own fuel pump. After a few hiccups mainly due to my rushing and misunderstanding of how the wiring needed to be done I got it all sorted and working right. Finally I thought "This is the big moment, I can't wait to hear these rods knock or see oil shoot out of the turbo feed hose and douse my bay in fluids!!" Quite the contrary. I spent the next 5 hours with a friend remoted into my ecu nearly maxing out the injectors to try and get any fuel. Couldn't get any. We check over the settings "Oh oops, you have low impedance and it was set to high, lol lets try again" Nothing. Another hour passes of trying dumb stuff and sweating my man boobs off. I began to backtrack...remember the "minus a few connectors being replaced" yeah, my dumbass still had power going to the injectors and hit 12V to ground and popped the fuse I added in. Threw a new 20amp fuse in, got a backfire out the intake, revs shot to 4,000 rpm and then it shut down. Swapped two injector plugs around since 4 are the same length and got it to do what was in the video above. Today I will verify injector and coil wiring and do my best not to short anything or fry my ecu, but I'm sure something stupid will happen since I'll likely be drunk by noon.
  2. So since my old thread is locked figured I would update in here, I'll make a long winded post shortly, here is the quick one IT RUNS
  3. I'm 6'7" with boots on and 280ish, i fit fine in them
  4. Caliper covers are worse than paint lol
  5. Don't paint the calipers. Most look like shit and unless they are brembo and even then unless they are powdercoated I usually just laugh my ass off at the previous owners stupidity while I replace them at work since they look shitty. Looks good so far. Just don't go and ruin it by touching the calipers lol. Tint would be nice and a short throw then leave it be. Every 6 speed Challenger I drive seems to have an obnoxiously long throw, but that may be a "me" thing.
  6. Honestly a lot of these articles I would love to read but 95% of the time the author is so technically illiterate its too irritating to get far into them. Ill give this a go.
  7. Surprised that it didn't overheat like most.
  8. Go see a doctor. Some opinions on here may work but going to a trained professional would be beneficial I would imagine.
  9. No better way to turn away a customer for good than by writing them a $2,000 estimate their first time in the shop for a $25 LOF
  10. Thats all you do here anyways. And yea...hard to justify spending thay coin on a Focus when thats ZL1 or C6Z territory.
  11. x2 Don't bother sucking the system down. Just keep putting it in until the air comes out cold. Whats even scarier is G E A R H E A D is doing A/C stuff.
  12. I mean Dan B. basically lays out how 90% of my 20 something and 30 something friends feel about marriage anymore. 1:30 is the relevant part, wont let me link to a time.
  13. You base your thoughts off your experiences, and when you have no experiences you have to rely on others in order to form an opinion. Sure, marriage seems like it can be a great thing, but the "tail risk" is that you get royally fucked as a man, even more so if you have kids. At the end of the day it isn't worth me risking half my life savings (even at this point in life) on a bet that something will work out for years to come. I'm glad you and your wife get along so well and it has worked for an 8 year span, but people change. You or any other happily married person could come home one day to "her" deciding she doesn't want "that life" anymore and would rather travel the world as a single woman. I'm not wishing that on your or anyone else, hell I wouldn't even with that on Geetoad. I just had a friend just go through the whole "I wanna be single and live like a gypsy across the US" thing 3 days after he dropped $10,000 on a ring to propose with. I was almost turned around on the idea of marriage, then that happened and I don't want to deal with that bullshit. At the end of the day....

  15. 2500 chevy van. Any 1500 for $5000 will be a nightmare.
  16. So since I am apprently wrong (by CR standards) when WILL be the right time to buy? All the stuff I see near me (Dayton/Cincy) corridor is 15-20% higher than what I think its worth.
  17. Damn JP. Between this thread and the fun car thread your reading comprehension has been way down
  18. That isn't flipping cars. Thats buying something you want at what you think is an okay price (when it really isn't, just your desire to own the car is so strong you justify it) then you justify buying it since "man i got a deal and i know i can sell it again for that" only to find not many people are as into it as you are. 6 months of dealing with tire kickers and responding to countless inquiries later you'll have someone in your driveway ready to buy it for 23% lower than your initial listing and you'll take it, saying never again. Then a month later some other rare car comes up and the cycle repeats. Cars LOL Take your losses and learn than flipping a car looks something like the one i just got. 2008 CTS. Sat for 2 years 80,000 miles and needs an engine, bought in for $900, $700 on an engine and needs a good detail, rotors cut and some fresh fluids. Figure I'll be in $2400ish total on the high end plus my time. If i really got desperate and wanted out of it its a $10,000 car all day. Otherwise I'll sit on it for $12,000 and some shmuck will want AWD and ass heaters when winter is upon us.
  19. Man i was 80% against marriage before this thread now im more like 98% against it. In all seriousness can I get a prenup that basically outlines how a divorce settlement would go down if it ever happened? Like "this, this and this is his and he keeps all of his income (assuming no kids)"?
