  1. I'm down... can bring some steel plates as well.
  2. Yep, make sure to check the timing belt. They are not too bad to replace on the SOHC motors (I think 2003 is still D17) but it does take a couple hours and cost ~$75-100 for a belt and water pump. You should also check to see if the Takata airbag recall applied to the vehicle and if it is completed. Another person died today from metal fragments getting stuck in their neck after the airbag deployed. http://www.motortrend.com/news/teen-driving-honda-civic-dies-takata-airbags-rupture/
  3. I'd just make sure the school offering the classes is accredited and respected. There are a lot of places willing to take your money in exchange for a piece of paper that won't get you very far.
  4. Weird. Maybe my old LT155 required less power so using the charger for 20 min then cranking it would work. At least the fix was pretty cheap
  5. 12v battery charger could help in the future. Even when my John Deere battery was bad I could use that to start it.
  6. A fair number of them are recruited from the "West" and Europe for sure. Some are middle class from abroad and those are the leaders of their social media campaign (i.e Jihadi John from Britain who beheaded some of the journalists). Most of the ISIS group are Syrian and Iraqi, but not all. Of the foreign fighters the majority are from neighboring Arabic and Islamic countries. The GDP of Iraq is almost half oil, 16% unemployed, and 25-28% below the poverty line currently. It has been both better and worse in the last 12 years. For the unemployed and poor, the appeal of joining an organization that provides food, clothing, pay, and security (of sorts) is tempting. You're right though. Is the problem entirely economic? Definitely not. People are legendarily bloodthirsty, and using religion and ethnic warfare are common tools. Using social media to recruit and convert people abroad is new and difficult to stop. Hopefully Europe and some other powers can come together and run these barbarians over soon.
  7. For poor Arabs joining a terrorist organization like ISIS is like joining the military. Take young men with no job and train them that through their version the Quran murder of outsiders/infidels/innocents is glorified and rewarded. Give the same young man an AK47 or suicide vest, $1000 a month (for that region very good pay), and he will do whatever you want. I do wonder how many more attacks like this will happen before Europe can pull together and go against Russia and Iran to wipe out ISIS.
  8. Owned a John Deere LT155 and helped my dad with maintenance with it for about 17 years. Other than oil and blade changes we had minimal problems with it and every problem we had could be fixed using the online diagrams. I think John Deere uses Kohler motors if you can find a similar model with one.

    Sig Sauer

Are the malfunctions related to extractions? I.e case isn't picked up by extractor or not thrown with enough force to clear chamber and "stovepipes". SIGs are usually pretty reliable pistols so I do wonder if it is the ammo. Other thought would be a bad magazine.
  10. That turtle thing is brilliant and I'll never be able to look at the car seriously again. Bugatti appears to be catching up in weight to the Laferrari and P1... maybe can catch them on the track too.
  11. Don't worry Black Focus STs matter too. Thanks Nick... made the car buying experience pretty easy.
  12. Alas FWD Not much trouble with torque steer and getting about 28mpg
  13. Decided to pull the trigger on a new car while 0% financing was available. Took the trip to Byers to see Fijist (Nick) and got a white focus st. Deal was easy and I feel like I got a nice car for the money I had. Sad to see my 17 year old accord go (Dad bought it new in 1999) but it was starting to look pretty bad even though it ran OK. Now I have to decide if I want to void the warranty by having fun with it... I did order speakers because the stock ones are garbage. Cheers, Sean http://s30.postimg.org/m5emltwlt/20160227_104042.jpg
  14. Sorry to hear that Joe. Drugs and mental illness are a very difficult situation to get people out of
  15. Like paul said, with the procedure code and provider information (tax ID, NPI of facility, etc) you might be able to get that. I don't think insurance likes people asking the question you are, so they likely make the information difficult to obtain. You may ask HR at your work for a specific representative at your insurance, as the member services representatives will probably not know how to get your prices. Unfortunately the ethical component of healthcare prevents it from being an efficient business model. At least state institutions can't turn patients away based on them clogging up the ED, not paying their bills, not doing what they are supposed to post-hospitalization, etc. All their bills get defaulted as a tax write-off and then all the insured people end up paying the difference so that the hospital can stay afloat.
  16. It's all funny money. I work in a pharmacy function of sorts and the typical inpatient markup on drugs or outpatient infusions is 450%. The negotiated rate with Medicare, Medicaid, or your insurance might be 150% of the cost or less, which pays for the medication and administration fees. A large portion of the self-pay patients I deal with don't pay anything because they qualify for charity care / discount and never pay their bills anyways. tl;dr - what things are listed as, the negotiated rate, and what it actually costs are all really different. Oh, and that Times article someone posted earlier... if he had come to the James he could have gotten treated for practically free
  17. Try here for the procedure code: http://www.icd10data.com/Search.aspx?search=Magnetic+Resonance+Imaging+ The code for an adolescent and adult may be different. Other thing is to look into financial assistance. It varies by hospital and your household income, but at OSU any patient can apply for HCAP/Charity care of their portion of the hospital bill. You might call and ask a financial counselor at OSU at 614-293-0860 or 293-2100 for specifics, as it is not my primary area.
  18. I rotated my tires on Wednesday and the sound seems to come from the back left now. When I turn left at 20+ mph it is quiet, then when I straighten the car out it comes back. Might see if the sound goes away when I put my full size spare on. Thanks for your help
  19. I watched some videos of people using hammers to smack them in (usually with a block of wood or the old bearing). Either they are really tough or they are ruining their bearings. Currently it is annoying but I have some time to figure it out. Maybe give me an excuse to get a shop press
  20. Thanks for the replies. I'll see if I can figure out which one(s) it is. Looks a little involved to press in without damaging though
  21. Interesting idea but I think a regular holster would serve better. You would probably want to have a 2nd hand free unless you rush into a phone booth and have the time to change like superman. I have an Alien Gear (good for the money) and Bravo Concealment DOS. Both work well enough for me.
  22. I have a 1999 Accord v6 with 126k miles. The tires I have are 4 Falken Ziex 612 (2 with 5,000 miles, 2 with 10,000). I got the car aligned when I purchased the first two tires and it seems to be in alignment. On some roads it pulls ever so slightly to the left. I'm trying to figure out why my car has gotten unbelievably noisy at 40+mph. The situation is somewhat odd though, as there are speeds where the noise dissipates and then returns. At 40mph there is a loud hum, 45mph it goes away, comes back 50-65 and is deafening, then at 70mph it is not bad. Tomorrow when I repair/check my Vtec solenoid I'm going to check my wheel bearings to the best of my ability (see if any abnormal play in hub/wheel), but there is no "clunking" or bad shaking in the car. I have not had the car up in the air but when I looked at the tires I did not see any bad camber wear and they still have a fair bit of tread. Any ideas on things I should check? Or do I just have bad tires? Thanks, Sean
  23. I work in a sort of "patient navigator" type job at the hospital and deal with obtaining high cost medications. Say you are getting discharged on a medication that costs several thousand dollars and you have bad/no coverage, I have to get it for you somehow through a grant or assistance program. If you make less than 16,000 per year (roughly) for a household of one in Ohio you can get expanded Medicaid coverage, which will pay for everything minus $3 copayments on high cost medications. I don't think that this act changed patient behavior a whole lot. Some patients adhere to their medication regimen and stay out of the hospital, but others are still getting readmitted over and over again for the same problems that they have for years. I run into a lot of patients who lost their medicaid because they missed renewals, didn't submit their proof of income, or did not go to their hearings. These people wind up in the ED / admitted because they did not take their blood pressure medications for 2 weeks (which a lot are $4 medications) and wind up with kidney injuries. And because they need a renewal, they have to apply for manufacturer programs to get their medications. Not many patients I know can afford Tikosyn even if they have coverage, and if you miss doses of that you have to be admitted. The latest thing for me is the increase in "underinsured", which is what this thread is about. I've had trouble explaining to patients to drop their Caresource exchange insurance in order to qualify for expanded Medicaid. Yes, stop paying for bad coverage so you can get better coverage. Pretty crazy. It also is not uncommon for exchange plans to need financial assistance with their bills, as a lot of them are the equivalent of catastrophic coverage with the absolute minimum coverage. One plan I saw reportedly only paid $1000 per day inpatient... which doesn't even pay for your bed and food even at a negotiated rate. tl;dr I don't think it is much if any better. The hospitals are getting paid more consistently, which is good, but the tax payers are paying for it and there is not much of an increase in positive outcomes. At least that is what I have seen.
  24. If you want to keep your standard AR lower then yes, it will help you get some more distance out of the gun (probably 1000 yards with the right ammo). If you want to build a whole new gun an AR-10 (308) will be cheaper to shoot and have more ammo available.
  25. Ruger GP100 is a nice revolver under the nightstand category.
