  1. Wish I could have gone somewhere. Next Saturday I might be able to.
  2. Once you disassemble your 1911 a few times it becomes really easy. The barrel bushing tool really helps get the spring and bushing back in if you don't have one. http://www.midwayusa.com/product/212051/wilson-combat-barrel-bushing-wrench-1911-government-commander-officer-polymer-blue?cm_vc=ProductFinding
  3. Sometime this summer I'd like to shoot again with you Joe... learned quite a bit last time. Getting a lot more consistent with my shots. For some reason I still have trouble getting bullseyes at LEPD though (I feel like I'm shooting into the floor since I'm 6'3"~)
  4. Just don't dry fire it without a snap cap... firing pins break easy on those
  5. Personally I bought a shield 9mm since I'm somewhat skinny too (6'3'' and 180lbs). If you want a DA first shot I like my CZ p-01 a lot, although it may be a little large to conceal for a skinny person.
  6. Looks good... I'd like to shoot a VP9 sometime. Blackwing left me a message to call them so I think my stamp was approved too :-) December to April was not a bad wait
  7. Happy birthday to me... I hope they can keep these off for a long time, because the next step is speed cameras.
  8. Anyone on here have much experience with these? I've researched for a couple days and would like to get into target archery. When I was younger it was something I enjoyed and would like to get back into. I can spend around $300, am right handed, and think that either a 45 or 50-pound draw weight would be appropriate. Bear and Martin seem to be the preferred brands online, as well as Samick who seemingly made my old guitar neck. http://www.lancasterarchery.com/samick-phantom-takedown-recurve-bow.html http://www.amazon.com/Martin-Archery-Panther-Take-Black/dp/B00IMHX35C/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1426037525&sr=8-2&keywords=martin+recurve Thanks for the help, Sean
  9. I love putting them together. I've only built two but it is pretty neat to assemble the lower and then go shoot it. Count me in on assembly day so I can justify buying an ar308 =)
  10. http://palmettostatearmory.com/index.php/catalog/product/view/id/1213/category/4282/ Have them ship it to the Powder Room off Plain city-Georgesville Rd since that is close to you (and Matt there is one of my friends that is a good guy). The FFL transfer will cost about $40 so for $190 you have a complete lower already assembled
  11. I shot some pistols a few months ago at LEPD and they were nice enough. I took my own ammo and targets though so I imagine that saved me quite a bit. My only complaint was that I'm 6'3" and on their pistol range I have to aim down a lot to shoot.
  12. http://jfs.ohio.gov/fraud/index.stm Not sure if it would be worth it or not though. Child services may be a better route.
  13. The powder room moved off route 70 not too far from Grove city. I've had some FFL transfers sent there for around $35~ but that was 3 years ago.
  14. I was happy with Blackwing's service when I went there. They sell a lot of suppressors and have the paperwork down pretty well. I wanted to be able to clean the suppressor so I went with the octane 45. As the inside gets literally caked with residue the noise reduction capabilities go down. However, after how many rounds that takes depends on if you shoot wet/dry, the ammo, the caliber, etc.
  15. I see lots of drug users at OSU and they are a breeding ground for awful infections. One patient I had shared needles with his girlfriend "until she got hepatitis C", but he still managed to get a fungal infection that manifested in his eye. His VFend (antifungal) treatment was 6 months, and at cost that drug is around $1000 / month for generic. I think he lost his eye anyways. Another one ran out of peripheral vein access so he was using veins in his neck to inject heroin, and when he got an abscess on his neck he tried to drain it with a box cutter. Sad to see people destroy themselves so completely.
  16. Third world poverty, bloodlust, and religion never make for a good combination. For a lot of countries joining a terrorist organization is the equivalent of joining the military combined with your heritage/religion. Young unemployed men and women join partly because of the money as well. ISIS/ISIL fighters get paid $1000 per month roughly, which is an incredible rate for that part of the world.
  17. I have two chip mccormick "shooting stars" I think and they work well enough for $12.
  18. Or build two $500-600 AR pistols and dual wield. lol
  19. This video is helpful too: The suppressor acts as a contained area where the gases from the round can expand and cool. Perhaps the "less accurate" argument is related to projectile speed. A subsonic projectile will not necessarily have the same flight path as a full speed round. Usually the projectile has added weight to slow it down under the ~1120fps mark, so at long range the point of impact should be different. A not so great suppressor might have uneven baffles, which would throw off the symmetric expansion of gases which helps a round go straight as well.
  20. PSA lower kits are pretty nice, but the trigger leaves some to be desired. In the two I built one was just fine and the other was quite funky. With some polishing and shooting it got better though. However, if you're going to be shooting at really high distance you will probably want a new trigger anyways.
  21. Thought this was an interesting comparison:
  22. If your computer can update then it is something to do with your internet explorer settings. Try using chrome or firefox as a test if you can. If you can't, a reset of your internet explorer settings or a system restore (assuming you have a recent point) may be of use. Cmd / ipconfig / release / renew is also a decent command string... resets the connection.
  23. Not sure how good their Turkish/Kurdish language skills will be, but more power to them
