  1. Looks good! I'd be interested in a door if you come across one.
Also interested in a door! Wife and I just bought a house, so I will have something to show in a couple weeks lol. All I have right now is the same apartment garage from my project posts.
I'll definitely let you know. I actually have one right now that is a much lighter door (think stamped stainless), but has a dent in one end from the convention center. Just depends on the length you need. I may also have the match to the one I used if my apprentice doesn't use it.

I can post pictures if you want one now. We also have a big replacement coming up of brand new mis-ordered doors.

  2. Cut a section out of a stainless steel elevator door I replaced at the Crowne plaza, and finished off the center of my workbench. Makes for a nice cleanable surface.

I still have a lot of organizing to do out there.

I can get these doors occasionally if anyone is interested in a decent stainless bench top.3d08c76ea31a2f1468a44b48ae0be84b.jpg

  3. Why ditching the concrete? Looks? Performance Issues?

I every-now-and-then get clients asking about them. We usually deter them just because they are overly expensive compared to quarts or granite we usually use standard.

Mostly because the wife wants something different [emoji12]. The sealer/wax/etc.. is a pia and just not that durable. The sink was also formed concrete, and badly beat up.

It'll be great for a patio kitchen.

  4. Finished pulling out the concrete countertops, for quartz install tomorrow. Damn things were even heavier than I thought! 2" of concrete, the long piece was at least 400lbs, but we managed to remove all of it cleanly. I cut one L-shaped piece to make it more manageable. I also cut the "bar section of the peninsula off, to make one large area.

The plan is to use the removed concrete countertops to build an outdoor kitchen off the patio.

I'll post before and after pics when the quartz goes in.f3e504f02eb3582e995d960a010112f4.jpg02a6a87f13d7a685e1e8a594b1cddc21.jpg

  5. David, text me and I can help you in the evenings. [emoji106]
Let me know if you guys get together. I wouldn't mind drinking a few beers and turning a wrench with some cr peeps, if the schedule allows it.

  6. Kevin made my car look so good, it was stolen by the City and is now used as a monument to greet people at the Columbus International Airport as an exceptional showpiece of fine art.

    I 100% endorse Clifford Automotive!

Not a patronizing joke... Kevin does a great job! [emoji106]

    Elaborate??

  7. 5vz? My summer is also crazy, but I'd be glad to help if I can. I tore the whole top end off mine to replace the head gaskets. There is a very helpful video series on a guys YouTube channel called worsethanchiggers. He does a 3.4 in a tacoma, I used it for my entire process.

Yours will be much less involved, it's not bad at all. Make sure you follow his instructions for marking the belt/cogs.

Let me Know when you plan to do it! ab8b71958c5e5b56ceff7b78bee1701b.jpga4d9b4a5f11a52c87a31c87b18ae3452.jpg

  8. I'm going to go the typical CR route and suggest something slightly outside your list/requirements. You should consider Charleston, SC. You mentioned Myrtle, and though Charleston is further south, the drive is the same time (highway routes).

Great beaches (we stay on isle of palms), lots of cool history, and lots of great restaurants and bars.

  9. Tim, your garage is looking great, a nice floor will really finish it off. I'm staying tuned here, as I've been trying to decide what to do on my shop half of the current 3 car. When the pole barn is built it will see more work than the garage, so I might go a little nicer for just parking/cleaning.

  10. I bought a Big Dog this season, which is hustlers other line. Literally the same mowers but red instead of orange/yellow. I've been very happy with it. Lots of optional accessories and features. Upgrade the seat, they'll give you a good trade in towards your old one when it's new.

Bought mine at Kuhn turf equipment if you're on the east side. Very happy with the service as well.

  11. I think you have to ask yourself why it is you want to learn to tune. If you just want to get an understanding of it then just get yourself a book. Anything by Greg Banish is a good read. If you want to make money from it and learn it to the point of it being a business then look into the couple schools out there, like the Tuning School.

Here’s where I’m going to sound a little hypocritical, if you plan on tuning your own car then just save your money and pay a competent tuner. While I feel very confident in tuning gen 3 GM stuff and tweaking most cars, I would not consider myself a tuner. I started down the learning to tune just because my stubborn ass didn’t want to pay someone to do it. After years of learning, many books, and learning many lessons to hard way by breaking shit, I wish I’d have just paid to have it done correctly and left it alone. At this point I am glad I understand it as being a technician it really helps me to understand how everything works, but it was a really expensive and frustrating road.

In short, is $500 worth it? No. What I suggest is reading a book. Do you think you’ll get a good return on this investment?

Mostly learn, definitely not to make money touching anyone elses obd2 port, possibly tune/tweak a future swap vehicle, but mostly learn.

I'm leaning more towards the Holley Terminator for a swap, but I'd like to be able to tweak things.

Would definitely pay for the truck.

  12. Very sorry to hear, but glad the family is ok. Definitely post anything you guys need.

Hope the upcoming process is as Swift and stress free as possible.

  13. Hormones. Hormones. Hormones.

My wife said she wanted to divorce me because I wouldn't buy Nikes on sale; we didn't know she was pregnant yet. You'll be fine once the kid is here.

Hahaha, mine was over terrible pizza hut pizza, lol. Completely irrational.
