do you have a pipe thats big enough to go over the wrench? PB blaster is a penetrating oil. spray it on, and it helps loosen stuff up. usually PB blaster + blue wrench (be careful, PB blaster is flammable) gets the job done. you are probably going to need a new bolt if you've sufficiently fucked up the head of this one. its the whole center piece of the filter assy. not just a cap screw or something. if you cant get it with that, you can use a bolt out. it will fuck the head up real good, but it will get it out. it should be 14.5 ft/lbs too. dont put it back on too tight.

are you sure you're turning it the correct direction? counterclockwise. you may just need to use a cheater bar on it use a 6pt socket too. less of a chance of rounding off the head.

on the 250 the filter is a paper type. you take the filter cover off, and shove the paper up in there, then put the lid back on. when you say the bolt is stripped, do you mean the threads are stripped or the head is rounded off?

a tennis shoe offers little to no protection at all. honestly in a crash they are probably the very first thing to come off.

+1 go down to whittier and front some time, on the northwest corner of the intersection there is an old warehouse and a driveway that goes down the hill behind the warehouse to the train tracks. go check it out sometime, could probably get some nice pics. just keep an eye out for hobos. they usually wont bother you though. stop at the carry out and get a few bottles of thunderbird or wild irish rose, and they will be your best friend lol.

thats a realist perspective, and i can respect that. the mighty will do what they will and the weak suffer what they must kinda thing. who exactly is "them"? arabs? terrorists? muslims? anyone who is not the USA? i would guess it could be any of those things. IMO its really hard to win a war against an intangible. you can wage war against a state and you can wage war against al qaeda. in both cases you have a clearly defined enemy. however i dont think anyone will win a war against "terror". i just dont see a day where its "ok thats the last of em. we killed all the terrorists. good job boys!". that day is never going to come.
