it does go to the schools, and they do get their share. the majority of lottery money goes into the payouts. after that the majority left over goes to education, then some is left over for bonuses and commissions, and then a little left over for advertising and operating costs. the answer for "why do we still have levys?" is an easy one. because the lottery simply can not provide 100% of the funding needed for public schools. funding schools is a burden shared by the federal, state and local governments as well. currently the lottery provides about 5% of the funding for schools annually.

hometown has some to do with it definitely. some of it is from your parents. both my mom and dad are big browns fans... its no stretch that i like the browns too. some people pick a team for whatever random reason when they are a kid. i know a kid who started liking dallas when he was like 6 because he thought cowboys were cool. i always liked motorsports when i was a kid. i liked football too. never played because i wasnt big enough. did play baseball and basketball, and enjoy watching them on TV... football though, is my favorite sport by far... once i started to understand how the game is played, the different strategies and stuff, i really started to enjoy it on a whole different level. its so much more than just running with a ball too... the things some of these players do is nothing short of amazing. sometimes, if you are lucky, you get to witness something amazing happen... like the play ( )or lebron just going off in game 5 against the pistons and scoring 29 of the last 30 points...

yeah too bad corporations wont be able to hide all of their profits overseas anymore and may actually have to pay what taxes they owe. how terrible. apparently everyone misses the part about where you get a tax BREAK for expanding or starting operations in the united states. so what this means, instead of firing employees here in the states, companies will start firing the guys in bangalore who answer the 1-800 number, open a call center in the US. then they created some new jobs here AND they get a tax cut for it. how horrible
