  1. lane splitting is not really that dangerous at all... any other major city you go to, anywhere else in the world, and lane splitting is the norm.

its just the impatient assholes who think "fuck that guy on a bike... he isnt getting where he is going before i do" and try to cut you off or open their door...

  2. yeah, thats what kawa says, but there are so many variables...

rider size, the bike's running condition, valve clearances, and other factors affect top speed...

also keep in mind that stock speedometers are notorious for reading high. especially at higher speeds...

id think that real world top speeds would fall somewhere between 95 and 105

  3. ben, that tube that goes from the crankcase to the airbox is a crankcase vent/recirculation tube.

as combustion occurs, byproducts are made and some of them get into the crankcase. that tube sucks them into the airbox so that they can get into the intake and be burnt again. if that tube isnt there, they would just vent to the atmosphere. its more of an emissions thing IMO than anything else...

but with all that oil in there, it was coming out that hole, and thats why it was getting into your airbox :)

glad to hear you got it all fixed up.

PS. if its a foam filter, you may be able to get away with giving it a really good wash, and then a light oiling again. :)

  4. John you are correct shell at 7. I have seen your bike at OSU before, I think

sounds good. ive got some stuff to do at 5, but it should only take about an hour

    :metal:

you probably have seen me at OSU, i try to ride there as much as humanly possible so i dont have to pay like 7 dollars a day to park my car.
