  1. We didn't have the need to make an intro back in my day. However, I can tell you that my very first post was, "This place is full of people fucked in the head. I'll fit in just fine."
  2. My Dad plowed his way through about 15 miles of county roads to open his service station the next morning so that emergency vehicles could fuel up and wait on assignments. They spent the whole day pulling in random ambulances and fire trucks into this garage to thaw out to head back out. He stayed open something like 72 hours straight to help out. I was 1 year old playing carelessly at home.
  3. I've had too many cases over the past 2 years where I needed to get one of them to a hospital or urgent care immediately to "want" another foot or 2 dumped on us. If I had a cookie-cutter 30' driveway again, I wouldn't care. It's my own fault for under estimating mother nature. We lose power when someone sneezes the wrong way out here, and get 3' drifts on top of the God-only-knows how many inches we have gotten already snow falls. I have had enough. Add in the fact that I've blown up 1 tractor and 1 plow truck in my driveway this year, and had to travel to see my Dad in the hospital during each of these storms, and I am willing to say I have had enough. I will be much more prepared next year, so that's the plus side I guess.
  4. Yes, white guy is 67. I meant I think the black guy replies with, "so, I'm 50!" at one point. Maybe not. And yes, the mouthing that goes on after the guy exits the bus is classic. And, did the dude's woman say something about stealing shit out of the bag?
  5. Ha. Awesome. How quickly "I'll put a foot up yo ass" and "say that again, turkey!" turns into "we can press charges" and "call me a ambulance!' EDIT - Yes, a younger mouthy white guy getting busted up by an elderly black man would be equally entertaining. Oh, and just caught the fact the other guy is 50. Oops.
  6. This shit was fun 10 years ago... before I had a wife and 2 kids to worry about. Guess I'll buy a plow truck, a snowmobile, and one of these. http://www.arcticwebsite.com/arcticSta2.jpg
  7. I've pretty much decided on upgrading to a compact tractor in the Spring. With the property size, mowing, plowing I need to do, this Cub lawn tractor was just not the answer.
  8. Have room in garage. That blower is badass. Sam is on his way.
  9. This game was invented after a long night of left-handed smoking and whiskey. That's the only explanation for it.
  10. Ugly with an upper case UGH.
  11. http://columbus.craigslist.org/grd/1603304208.html act fast
  12. I'm officially done. Tractor stuck in my drive. Then in my neighbors drive. Can't get in, can't get out. Neat.
  13. Removing the GM rear end from my S10 and installing a Ford 9" It's been 10 years of broken bullshit after broken bullshit. Also, and equally as dumb - selling this off last year. http://nurkvinny.com/images/Vehicles/Trucks/2000%20Chevy/K2500_5_med.jpg
  14. We had an easy 6" at 5:30 and it didn't let up until 8:30ish. Good pics.
  15. Gee, thanks. That will help the 2 grandmothers who drive over twice a week to babysit, or my GP. Good news is I just realized I have two young kids who will make fine plows in a few years.
  16. Ha, I thought about rolling it with the bigger yard roller I have filled with sand.
  17. I bet One MILLion dollars Me > You at shoveling. I do shovel for about an hour each time doing all the sidewalks, in front of all the garage doors, the deck, porch, a dog-shitting area, etc. Plus, it really is fun to plow with the tractor.
  18. Sam, got your PM and that is a badass offer that I may take you up on. I actually spent a couple hours out there today and widened it up pretty well. We'll say how we're looking after I go plow the first 4" of this storm (heading out now). It's been plowed with a truck once during all of these storms (and the truck's 4L80E died in my driveway), and by me with the tractor in between.
  19. This is what I have gotten myself into. During the first 8" or so, I pushed the snow about 2' past the driveway, but since I HATE seeing half my gravel in the yard each spring, I stopped there. The last couple rounds has made it so I just can't push the huge piles any further with the tractor. If we get the upper limit of what they are calling for today, I don't have anywhere left to push the snow to, besides loading up a trailer full at a time by hand and dumping it on the road (which I don't want to do). I had a chance to buy dad's old 79 plow truck this Fall for $1200 and a chance a few years back at a Ford tractor with loader and blade for $1500. I won't miss the next chance.
  20. So, back in 2005 when we moved into the "new" house in Pataskala, I realized I couldn't hand shovel 350-400' worth of gravel driveway. So, I bought a plow kit for our then-new Cub Cadet 1554 lawn tractor. The first year of plowing was horrible. No rear weights. No rear chains. Turf tires. The last couple of years, I have used chains my dad gave me and a home-made weight box I made out of an old metal toolbox that I fill with 6 old front brake rotors. It is very clear this year that the quality of the plow and the "oomph" of the Cub's engine and trans just isn't gonna cut it. It takes hours of short back and forth full speed runs at the piles to move them a couple inches. I can tell the tractor giving up and I am afraid it will be worthless by Spring time. I've had to damn near rebuilt the plow mounting brackets twice now. So... those will large country drives, what do you use to clear it? Trucks, quads, compact tractors, pay someone? I will have some different solution by next Fall.

    Quad folks

Is this a fair deal - http://columbus.craigslist.org/rvs/1600978706.html ? Or, is this being marked up for the plow factor?
  22. Krogers carries Little Kings. I can't promise they have all flavors.
