mid 80s gs500 suzuki was my first bike, then a mid 80s Yamaha XJ750 cruiser, then an 02 FZ1, now an 06 ZX14.

One 300 dollar ticket usually equals more than 300 a year in insurance. I, on the other hand, like the ability to reach triple digit speeds in around 4 seconds or less and get 40mpg under "typical" conditions. Oh and the minimum speed allowed on the freeways is 45, anything less is also ticketable.

I cannot ride my bicycle to work as they have not combined the bike paths around the city yet. I do ride my motorcycle with a backpack to haul shit. I have been known to go grocery shopping like that. Today I picked up my license plates for my gas guzzling SUV that will ruin all gasoline supplies and speed up the green house effect by eleventybillion percent on my motorcycle, so I guess it all balances out. Who cares. You need it, you buy it. They charge what they want. Become more productive at work so you deserve a raise so you can then, in turn, afford to pay for the more expensive gas.

my grandfather was involved with the EV-1 project. I was hearing some pretty interesting things when that was going on.

I put a high mount slip on on my old FZ1 (carbed) and never changed the jets. The bike ran great, but had the afore mentioned pop on decel, but partly due to leaving the air injection on it. People have checked AFRs on the FZ1 with just slipons and demed it not necessary to rejet, but the do adjust needle height to get the AFR very very close. My point is this, what do other Katana owners do when they install a slip on? Just follow their lead, chances are you will be fine. If you are worried, rejet and be 100% fine!

You now know CRs opinion, you should just go look at and drive all of the mentioned vehicles and make your own decision. You are buying this for you and your family, not for CR.

We have an 07 Toyota FJ Cruiser. Stickers for 30,303.00 and advertised MPG of about 17-19. I paid less than that, and last tank got 22.5mpg driving speed limits. Its 4 door, plenty of room inside, rides great, looks awesome, very reliable, tows good, off roads great. If you want used, 4Runners are going for low 20ks. Very nice trucks, but are somewhat small inside. I can't tell you much about other brands, but if I had a say, I would tell you to get Toyota.

Well, after educating my wife on better driving habits we are getting 22.5mpg tank average in our FJC, 31 in our 2.5 Jetta, and 40.2 on my ZX14. Not bad all in all, each of my vehicles beating the window stickers advertised averages, that makes me happy
