  1. Why do people add forced induction to V8s? Same reason. I love the fact that with my wife and I on my bike BEFORE the power commander I was pulling an 03 R6 down the free way and wasn't breaking a sweat.
  2. very good question!! I have been wondering the same thing. When is enough, enough?
  3. Hind's for the m'fin win!!! I bought the first ZX14 they sold there. So far, both of my bikes have been from there. They were the lowest price on my ZX14, even beating Honda East Toledo's ZX14.NET member price by 200 bucks, and gave me the most for my trade. When I went to Motorsports of Columbus, they told me they would match/beat any price, so when I went back there with documents with Hind's price, I was told there is no way they could sell me the bike at that price. Next thing I noticed, MoC's price was 2g's higher than originally quoted. Needless to say, I didn't buy from them, but went to Hind's and signed for EXACTALLY the price they told me. Talk to Brandon, unless you have your favorite sales person there.
  4. So how many bikes are scheduled to be dynoed that day?
  5. NO belts, No pulleys if its like the Lexus CVT. I cannot remember the name for it, but its basically two sun gears, two sets of planetary gears (like in an auto trans) and the capability to hold both, one, or none. It pretty much changes gear ratios constantly. I believe as input shaft speeds up, it can slowly start to apply the gearing to allow a numerically higher ratio then apply more and more until eventually arriving at an overdrive ratio. My lazy ass isnt going to get my CVT manual either! Its designed to keep the engine at torque peak all the time during full throttle acceleration, or anywhere below that in proportion to throttle input.
  6. You are welcome! And I thought I told you not to mention the poetry thing! That was our secret!!!!
  7. Honestly, Scott, I think you would do yourself better with a slightly older (01-03) 1000cc bike. Power wise they make more, but there is more torque in the mid range, so you won't be winding out a small revvier 600. Not that revving is a bad thing, but keep in mind, to get that acceleration feeling, you will be in the 13-15000rpm range, which is almost 90 in a newer 600. Compare that to about 7-9000 rpm range which would be about 50-70ish on an older liter. Just food for thought. Also, maintenance on an older bike will be less, as they tend to be a bit simpler to work on.
  8. We had a church ceremony, with 9 people per bride/groom in the wedding party, full on catered dinner with open bar all night until 1am at the Holiday Inn for 220+ people, rental bus to take people around, photographer the whole day, and all that stuff for probably 10-12k all said and done. Ask SpaceGhost, he was in it! But I did A LOT of talking and negotiating to get that price....
  9. unless the wife says no I am IN! You take cash?
  10. Thanks for the prices Jason, will let you know!
  11. thats where I got the part numbers at. Jeg's sells them, thats what I need to know, price and avalibility, as stated above.
  12. is the car currently able to be lifted where its at? I am a toyota/lexus tech.
  13. I am looking at an Innovate data logger the DL-32 P/N Inn-3782 and two thermocuplers P/N from Innovate 3784. I used to hear that there were some good heated individuals on here who would help out a fellow broke ass car guy, so if you are still out there, lemme know!! This is going on a Diesel truck, and I am also needing (2) 0-100psi pressure sensor. I need the pricing and avalibility of these items. I know that the 11th ave store stocks the data logger Thanks in advance!
  14. Sam knows deep down bikes = win
  15. Sweet looking 10 Ben! Always been partial to Kawi! Those Termidingdong pipes sound pretty sweet too!

    Hate Crimes....

Anyone else catch that he was tackled by two women?
  17. go to Iron pony and get a "Grunge Brush" and some simple green. Use that to clean. Measure the chain slack with the bike unloaded, and check for tight spots. If the chain is out of spec, replace. The chain on my last bike (Yamaha FZ1) was still in spec and working perfectly after 20k miles. All depends on the maintenance. Mine gets lubed every 500 miles give or take, and each time, I check tension. Also, dry it well and lube it after riding in the rain. Long live happy chains!

    Speed Triple

more to a motorcycle than power. That is why the "hooligan" bikes are popular. Very short wheel bases, stripped down, lots of wheel up fun!
  19. Since you aren't asking about buying a Nissan, don't worry about those opinions. The supra is a very nice car. Very reliable and simple to work on. Parts are relatively inexpensive. &k is too much, if you ask me. You can get a SC300 in great shape for that price. I would think about 4500 or so for a supra. I am partial to Toyota, as I work for Lexus and have seen some EXTREMELY high mileage supras kicking ass with no problems on factory Toyota parts.
  20. renegadmonk thats a beautiful 12 you have there! I was -->this<-- close to getting one when the ZX14 came out. I have loved the 12R for a long time!
  21. Thanks for the welcomes! Putty, I hear you have killed your share of 14s. I know its usually pretty close between a GSXR1K, 10R, and the 14. I only plan on racing at Kil Kare and other tracks this summer. I have a few things I plan on acheiving!
  22. I think that most cops use 10% of the posted speed as a guide. Typically, speedos can be up to 10% off, so keep that in mind. 55mph plus 5.5mph does not equal 61mph. Sorry, its a law, and you broke it. Live with the consequences.
