Stay away from Bitlocker. I used it i the past, and lost my data because I didn't realize that I needed to export the key. The MS Bitlocker encryption key is unique to your windows install. IE: it's not a password you enter. If someone steals your laptop, they have access to your encrypted info. If you have a backup of your encrypted files, your HDD crashes, and you do a fresh install of Windows on a new HDD, your backup is worthless. Maybe the NSA can recover your data, but you can't. I use Winrar to compress and archive files and them PW protect them. It works for my purposes, which in the grand scheme of things aren't important. If you're using Bitlocker, don't. un-encrypt your files and use proper encryption software.

I would pay $5/month for it NOT to connect to Sprint's network.

Stay far away from Sprint. I've got a work phone through sprint, and "spotty" is putting it nicely. On a recent nation wide test conducted by pcmag.com Sprint's data speeds averaged 420kbps. That's kilobits. Slower than VZW and ATT's 2g speeds.

I've got a 32gb HP Touchpad. It dual boots WebOS 3.x and Android 4.3 Cyanogenmod 10.2. Includes 2A wall charger, USB charging cable, and HP folio case with Magpul sticker applied. 9.7" 1024x768 display, dual core SOC, 32GB storage, front facing web cam (works in both OS.) BEATS audio. The speakers really are better than similar sized tablets. I'm looking for a 10"-12" Netbook. Prefer dual core, may settle for single core.

Pepper spray sounds like a bad idea around a small kid. There's a good chance of the kid getting an indirect face full of it. As a dog owner I'll do anything possible to avoid killing someone else's dog. I know I would be very upset if someone killed my pal. Def have a very serious talk with the dog's owner too, for both your son's safety and the dog's. On two different occasions I've had a dog come up to me and growl and snap. Both times the dog ended up on the ground looking up at me, and wondering what just happened with thoroughly rung bells. Now the two dogs working as a team that Ryan K9 posted would be a serious problem.
