Responded to Thorne. Also bump. -
I'm on the do not call list, and I keep getting calls about extending the warranty on my car from several different companies.

I have a friend that may be interested. He's been at Geek Squad for some time now. I've copied/pasted your post and sent to him. If you don't mind, could you pm me additional information? Company, salary, etc.

Bought this Touchpad new a few years back. Dualboots WebOS and Android 4.2.2 Cyanogenmod. Android runs well, I haven't used WebOS is a long time. 32GB storage, 9.7" Screen 1024x768 resolution, dual core 1.2GHz with 1GB RAM, Wifi, bluetooth, micro USB port, stereo speakers, integrated 1.3MP webcam, wireless charging capable. Battery still holds up pretty well under normal usage, but Android will only "sleep" for a few days before draining the battery. Includes HP Folio case (with Magpul sticker), original 2.0A wall charger, and a usb data/charge cable. WebOS and Android will have my data erased before sale. $100 firm http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o149/loaded321/th_Screenshot_2013-12-09-16-02-55.png http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o149/loaded321/th_IMG_20131209_155541282.jpg http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o149/loaded321/th_IMG_20131209_160755.jpg

The following three items have been in storage and unused for several years, and I'd like to clear them out. Hanns-G 19" monitor. 1440x900 resolution, 700:1 contrast, 5ms refresh rate, matte display minimizes reflections. VGA/DVI ports. Works great, zero issues. Includes power cable and DVI cable. $50 http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o149/loaded321/th_IMG_20131209_134714.jpg Older white plastic iMac. 17" LCD display, Core 2 Duo 1.83GHz, 2GB RAM (1 open slot), optical drive reads DVD, reads/burns CD, 160GB HDD, OSX Snow Leopard with media. LCD is CRACKED, and is pretty Effed-up; I used this with a monitor. Includes power cable, displayport to DVI converter, Snow Leopard DVD. If I can find an extra DVI cable I will include it. No KB/Mouse. Good chance it comes with bonus SW already installed . $75 http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o149/loaded321/th_IMG_20131209_135346.jpg http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o149/loaded321/th_Screenshot2013-12-09at121209PM.png Logitech wireless MX3000 desktop: Wireless keyboard with a bunch of programmable shortcut keys, (frikkin) Laser mouse, plastic palm rest, USB receiver. The connection tabs broke off the palm rest, I appeared to have had it repaired with glue at one time. Using this wireless desktop to type this very post, so everything works just fine. Batteries not included. $20 http://i119.photobucket.com/albums/o149/loaded321/th_IMG_20131209_134013.jpg

The car is sexy, but I think they should have waited to release it until they had the engines sorted out. EcoBoost 4, NA V6, EcoBoost V6, NA V8 5.0, Supercharged V8, TT V8... really? Axe the NA V6 entirely, the EcoBoost 2.3l can handle that chore. The Ecoboost V6 (as are most factory turbo engines) should be friendly to the tuning market, but the Coyote 5.0 is more Mustang-ish. And the Choice between the SC V8 Trinity and a new TT V8 is a no brainer; snails all day long. Offer the base model with the EcoBoost 4, GT and a mid-tier special edition (Bullitt/BOSS) with a updated Coyote, and the halo edition (Cobra/GTxxx) with a TT V8. There, I just saved FoMoCo multiple millions in tooling, R&D, and production costs.

I couldn't watch it. Kanye is just a no talent douche.

Meijer is running their Santa Bucks promotion TODAY 11/30. These Santa Bucks can be applied to a single general merchandise item, and can be used multiple times per transaction. Appears to be in store only. The deal is as follows: $3 off $15 item, $5 off $25 item, $10 off $50 item, $20 off $100 item. The Santa Bucks discount works with giftcards taken from Meijer's ELECTRONICS department (Not giftcards at the front of the store). I can confirm it works on: iTunes GCs, Google Play GCs, and Amazon Kindle Fire GCs. The Kindle Fire GCs spend like cash at Amazon.com. Direct link to printable PDF coupons: http://slickdeals.net/forums/attachment.php?attachmentid=2369740&d=1385500602 More information @ SD: http://slickdeals.net/f/6482002-meijer-santa-bucks-11-30-only-b-m-20off100-10off50-5off25-3off15 Fliers with these coupons on them are available in store, and you can also clip these coupons to your Mperks account, however they will only be single use via Mperks. Also, the $25 iTunes gift card is already on sale for $19. The $3 off $15 DOES stack, which nets you as many $25 iTunes GCs as you can afford for $16 a pop.

Agree. Move on man, this is pretty pathetic.

Oh, Google Opinion Rewards is a good one. Google pays you to take surveys. No spam, just a notification that pops up on your phone.

Many of you are familiar with Bucky Balls. They're the original spherical magnetic balls intended as desktoys for adults. http://images1.vat19.com/buckyballs/buckyballs-cool-shapes.jpg Buckyballs became available to the public in 2009. In ~2011 Buckyballs, after hearing about several injuries related to youth ingesting Buckyballs, voluntarily initiated an aggressive warning campaign consisting of multiple videos, and multiple warning labels on products. In 2012 the Consumer Product Safety Commision sued Maxfield and Oberton, the company behind Buckyballs. The resulting legal fees drove the company out of business. In 2013 The CPSC took unprecedented action and individually sued the (now ex) CEO of Maxfield and Oberton for $57M; the estimated cost of a Buckyballs recall. This lawsuit allegedly violates LLC laws. Later in 2013, Maxfield and Oberton fought back. They are now suing the CPSC. Buckyballs are BACK ON SALE (albeit in a slightly altered, and more expensive state) with all proceeds going towards legal fees to sue the CPSC. http://unitedweball.org/ Fight the Nanny State.

Swype and Swiftkey suck. The Samsung keyboard is REALLY good, with the "Google Keyboard" being 2nd best. I use Chrome, Hangouts, iHeartRadio, and Waze daily.

Love than the simu-proctoligst's office has an Snellen Chart.

Fair amount of misinformation in this thread. If you're not willing to turn your own wrenches, walk away. The boosted BMW motors are NOT the BMW straight sixes of old. My N54 335i is on its 4th high pressure fuel pump, and that went at ~86k miles. Also second set of turbo chargers, 2nd set of oil filter housing gaskets, and 3rd water pump. Simply put, these are enthusiasts' cars. That's to say they aren't reliable vehicles. Fantastic vehicle tho. I love it to death. Also 50k is not premature for a valve cleaning. I'd call 50k miles overdue. (At 50k Miles Audi would call you a tow truck :gabe:) All that being said, nothing is your old Honda/Toyota anymore.

The only real details in that article are that Kfhzghnth Mercury was the first to put stickers on their race car. Where are the engine specs?

That's tune-only? Sounds if they add an intake and DP, Ant's Transmaro bird will be playing catchup!

Most of the BMW guys disconnect the headlight sprayers. All they do is make a mess. Edit: funny story. I had a 328i loaner with the headlight sprayers once. The windshield was dirty, so I used the sprayers to clean it. The ENTIRE car was covered in washer fluid, and I left behind a dry "shadow" on the parking lot where the car was parked and spraying. Shit was ludicrous.

What good is encryption if you can't recover the data?. Encryption based on a password: good. Encryption based on a non-recoverable unique-to-a-windows-install key: bad.

We recovered a lot old photographs when my grandfather passed away in August. There are a lot of really cool photos. He had boots on the ground in Japan in WW2, so there's ton's of WW2 photos. There are also even older family photos that were passed on to him. For some reason these photos all landed in my lap, so they've all been scanned, and I'd like to share these with family. I could could just upload to dropbox/Google Drive/Skydrive, but I think more is possible. Is there a hosting/sharing site that offers: -Private access, either via a login/pw or unique url. I don't want trolls editing or removing photos. -Allows viewers to download ALL of the photos at full resolution. (That one is important) -Allows you to view the photos instead of DLing, and comment/add information to the photos -Won't get taken down a month, year, or ten years from now. -Free or cheap.
