  1. There's a brick and mortar TWC retail store in Newark. It's 100% worth the drive for you. Take your old TWC set top box out there to turn it in, and ask about internet rates. They're nice face to face and will hook you up with the promo rate.
  2. Some people just dont like other people or companies making money off of them.. I dont get it.

The miner uses CPU idle time. uTorrent users were noticing sluggish performance and extra heat. What's not to get? uTorrent makes money while users had to deal with extra heat, poor performance, and excess energy usage.

  3. i think my video card is taking a crap. i literally just ordered a new monitor yesterday. sooo not a good time to be putting more money into the system. looking around the 200-250 dollar mark what do you guys think about the gtx 960??

$250 gets you into an R9 290, maybe an R9 290X, which crushes the GTX960.

  4. The One M8 is garbage. Garbage HTC Bloatware (seriously, they have THE WORST track record with software), garbage camera, and the largest bezels of any modern smartphone PERIOD. Samsung is only moderately better with all their bloat.

If you're buying Android, get something without all the extra software layers like Sense (crap) and Touchwiz (also crap). Motorola puts an EXTREMELY light touch on stock android. If you're on VZW I'd look into the Motorola Droid Turbo ( beefed up 2014 Moto X). The Sony Xperia Z3V is nice, and Sony's Android skin is lighter than Samsung's and HTC's.

Personally, I carry a One Plus One. Love it, but it's an unlocked GSM phone, so you can't use it on VZW.

  5. If you don't need an i7, you don't need an octacore AMD.

Did you actually look at the link I posted? It's a guy selling off his FX8350 based system. OP could probably get him down to around $200 for Mobo, CPU, and RAM. That's not bad at all.

Edit: and if OP is looking at future games, vram seems to be the direction to look. Textures and resolutions are getting bigger and bigger. 2GB used the be the standard amount of vram, but that's doubled recently to 4gb. If OP has decided he wants to game, I'd look into an R9 280x 3GB card at a minimum.

  6. You say you don't want to game, then you list a high end socket 2011 i7 and a $170 mid range gaming GPU.

If it's just for basic PC usage, ie browsing the interwebs and streaming videos I'd go with a laptop. Something like this. I'm sure you already have a monitor and keyboard at home.

If you really want to build a desktop, here's a great mid range PC. You're not paying almost $400 for a CPU/MoBo you won't utilize. Same with the GPU. The R7 260X I threw in will still run recent games at medium settings just fine, and you also get an overclockable AMD Quad core, a 256GB SSD, and a 2TB storage HDD. If you DO want to game, Radeon R9 290s can be readily found for around ~$250 or less. I got mine for $225.
