My 1G is the most fun I've EVER had driving a car. They are great little cars WHEN THEY RUN. Mine has spent a pretty much 50-50% of the time that I've owned it down. The simple fact of the matter is they're old cars. They'll nickle and dime you. Also, $1900 is too much money for a broken DSM. If you can talk the guy down (quite a bit), go for it. They're an absolute blast to drive in the snow. But know that you WILL be dumping cash into it.

That sounds like the problem. If there are bad gaskets in the carb, replace them. Also, take it apart and thoroughly clean it. Depending on the type of carb, it may have a spring actuated rubber diaphragm in it. Replace that as well as they wear out frequently. B&S engines use those a lot.

Every .22 rifle I've ever shot has sounded like an air rifle. They just don't have that satisfying report. and no, they weren't air rifles.
