  1. STT novice is very well structured until lunch.. after lunch we let everyone loose assuming the morning went well.. we have 7-10 coaches out in Novice still helping with groups or individuals as needed or wanted / we will go back to groups if things get out of hand... we also will constantly rotate people in groups based on pace and skill or learning to maximize the learning and fun for all in each group. after lunch during the open track riding we allow students to apply their newly learned skills on their own or with lightly or heavily guided assistance as needed.
  2. sadly. Putnam is on of my fav STT events as we only do 2 a year but I will not be coaching that weekend i'll be racing at pitt
  3. I just had this conversation with a guy online chris... the dude tried to argue that it wouldn't be an issue if you rode within your limits you'd never go of track.... after explaining about pushing limits slowly sometimes we all make mistakes... or maybe some one else causes you to go off track... his argument changed to well look at the TT riders and IRRL they race on public roads all the time... and stay within their limits.. haha... he negated to answer me when I talked about how there is at least 1 death almost every year at the TT and that he should talk to WERA, CCS, omrl, motoamerica , BSB, WSBK and MOTOgp about staying on the track and in their limits...
  4. yes they restarted the race with 16 laps all of the riders but 1 was able to make the restart.. the only one that didn't was actually involved in the first wreck that initially caused the oil
  5. no one clos thati know of but Popshadow decals or Alpha 1 could do the custom work you need
  6. thanks for being sarcastic... there are different variations of vinyl printing.. size is a factor too... some people can only print certain heights and lengths as their printer allows... some can only do indoor vinyl as the outside stuff is too thick for their printers.. so in short.. give some on a real answer on what you are looking for.. the purpose aprox. locations , colors, and so on and then... just maybe then we can direct you in the way of someone that can help
  7. ^this... do you all remember how bad it was in 15? at the last AMA event .. all the races had to be run on sunday as over 3/4 the field went down in practices on Saturday morning.. can you run a good clip at mid ohio in the wet yes... but racing there in rain is freaking stupid... its a surface issue
  8. I speak from track experience only, I loved the Yamaha r3... thing was just as much fun if not a bit more because of the giggle factor of being pretty much WOT everywhere... I used the STT demo bike to coach for half a day after my R6 stator bit the dust half way through the day last year. I was on a fairly tight and very technical track (Grattan raceway) the only place I had any issues was the straight where my light frame was able to keep the aero low enough to manage 90ish mph. not to much else is ever as fun as doing a couple hard switch backs and feeling the bike twist and pop under you and just banging gears every .5 secs hah the looks are much more on par with the big bikes now and that to me makes them a lot more appealing to the younger rider looking to get into sport bikes but being turned off by small bike aesthetics.
  9. hey does anyone know if danny ever pitted a second time
  10. keep out for a few more, local talent Ryan Kerr #28 will be riding a sparkle green zx6r and kmoto racing from Michigan Jeremy Kolewski green and blue ZX6r and the boys from Apex manufacturing STT, red white and blue triumph 675r!!!!!!!!
  11. my trick with stiff tires and well all tires now when getting on and off is a tire warmer... toss the rim tire combo on a warmer.. and the replacement on a warmer for 10ish minutes pop off and on... dunlops are still the "hardest" followed by Pirelli fronts then easiest all around in Michelin... of course it is to be noted that I'm mostly doing race tires at the track the few ST tires I have done for friends I use the same technique and it has helped immensely
  12. 145lbs 5'10" here I wouldn't say I'm fast.. but I'm not exactly a slouch at my home tracks... the 1199 does take considerably more "effort" to toss around the track than my R6 that being said you have to use your weight for you... or lack of weight for you... specific strength training .. more Cardio and endurance training was needed to be able to last the tests of track time on the big bike .. but it doesn't take anymore strength on my behalf to move the bike back and forth.
  13. ^ yes... perfectly acceptable but only if said cooler has copious amounts of meats and beer
  14. better, but honestly very similar its hard to get the whole picture from just a picture... like what I did there... but you toe screams don't hit me don't hit me.. you should move it back more. place the outer edge/tip of the rear set peg right about the spot between your big toe and middle toe... right on the meat. I would comment more on the upper body but I cant tell if its pre apex post... or any of that jazz
  15. get that sum bish back a bit and it'll rotate a bit more, also your upper body is slightly crossed up
  16. yeah we will def make it this year as long as its not in conflict with any of my coaching dates... I haven't been on mid o in 3 years!!!!
  17. XT basic ol lap timer... 9 times out of 10 some one has an XT beacon out.. also I have my own beacon in case my next one will be fore sure an AIM Solo... I find getting nice consistent lap times first generally within a few hundredths for 3-4 laps a session then taking 1 single section that I struggle at and work on different lines and braking markers to see how they then affect my overall times
  18. It's that time of the year! Here is the provisional 2017 schedule for Sportbike Track Time! There will be more dates added to all regions as the season approaches BUT WAIT THERE'S MORE! they have a sweet 48Hr sale for bundles and memberships!
  19. zero races left... and I think no more testing until next year... buuuuuut the pass has a lot of awesome content
  20. i'll bite in.. I need an escape... was planning on running the Jennings Event again this year... BUT with the duc still in limbo. having to "build" theresas new track bike and some more odds and ends for the trailer.. we maybe a bit off track for that trip.
