  1. hotbodies is a crapshoot... sometimes they fit sometimes they don't... they put a shit gelcoat on them so prep and paint is a nightmare.... Optimal is very good for the money I've owned 5 sets of them now... 4 different bikes... all were great.. including crash and repair. Sharkskins is on my 1199 right now and the fit is amazing... armorbodies is good too honestly paul finn is still around and still painting as he is honestly great... he has painted all of my track bikes (except one done by AMA/Motoamerica painter Andrew swenson) depends on how much you want to spend on a paint job.... paul is cheaper and good but takes a little bit... Andrew is amazing but it will cost you around 700-1000 and there are plenty of people on the WERA boards that paint as well single and multi-colors for the 400-700 range
  2. Welcome to the Darkside! please check out CODEsmo.org and Central Ohio Desmo Enthusiasts on Facebook for like minded ducati owners here in Ohio as well! I have a link in my signature tons of information on the Panigale series and Track days to help you out..

  5. I'm gutted... he was a great dude..I honestly haven't had many interactions with him, I would call him a good acquaintance... but I always felt like a friend... I've had the pleasure to hang with him a few times. Do trackdays a lot and even race against him... though I didn't get to know him well. He was always a top class guy. See him running around the padock looking for something to help some one while his bike still needed work... rest well ryan, dragging knees on the best tracks in the sky. you will be missed
  6. still use a clamp system to safety wire the filter
  7. my buddy who doubled it.. lasted 2 track days.. as he saw it still weep and went all angry hulk on it and over tightened it with a damn wrench... till it stopped weeping ... then it blew out on the second day
  8. interesting... I've used them for 10ish year myself with no faults or issues.. all my track bikes have gotten them (albeit always safety wired) but zero failures. I have heard of a few people accidently doubling the oring... but it wasn't a manufacture issue it was them pulling the old filter off the o ring staying in plac on the case then just tossing on the new filter with out wiping down the case, seating position... this is a installation issue not a KN issue to me
