  1. just because its not over heating doesn't mean its not a head gasket. also the older LS1's had the crap composite graphite gaskets not MLS gaskets. tina, bring it over tomorrow and we can check. after 12 anytime just text me.
  2. well if it was this past summer that you found the problem why didn't you look into this then? you bought a used car, audi doesn't owe you anything special and more than likely won't help you.

    gas fire place?

with a lighter. its really not rocket science turn the knob to pilot and hold then light. let it burn for a min then turn to on.
  4. i'm 90% sure i won't make it this year but in any case CR members that go should roll together so they have someone to talk to at the stops.
  5. those look just like my wheels but a different color lip.
  6. i had 25% on the vette and never had a problem.
  7. mine is more of a money to get parts thing not having it done because of time thing lol.
  8. i am trying to get the camaro done so i can at least make one of the stops. i don't think i'm going to make it though.
  9. i had this real long reply typed up last night and then my lap top crashed. so here is cliffs. you will have to pull the engine to swap intakes or the distributor because of the windshield over hang. your transmission won't work with a SBC. internals are different and will brake easy. also not sure if the bell housing will work, i want to say no. what are you going to use to control TCC if you have full manual valve body? that slip will burn your transmission up in no time on the street. not trying to be a dick but before you buy anything else you need to do more research. i understand trying to build on a budget but if you haven't done all the research then your just throwing away money. if you don't have a sold build plan then your just hanging parts. here is an example, my camaro isn't even half way done. i know every part number i still need to buy and what parts i need next to keep working. my planing is done for this car down to the last what nuts and bolts are needed and what bolts need drilled for safety wire. after the camaro is done i will be starting another big project car build (about a year or two after the camaro is done and sorted out) and i am just now starting the planning for it.
  10. CTS4, SRX. i'm sorry the world doesn't revolve around joe. you used to be a cool guy but now your just another cry baby on here.
  11. GM doesn't cover wheels that are discolored because of brake dust. its not their fault that you didn't maintain your car so why should they pay to fix it.
  12. also your going to have to buy a controller for that 4L60 since your getting rid of your PCM. thats about $700 to think about.
  13. a V6 4L60E is different than a V8 4L60E. since your only able to build to 500hp your just wasting your money building that small block. just buy a 6.0L from the junk yard and swap it in. heads and cam on those and your over 500 flywheel.
  14. don't know never installed a turbo kit on a car every blower kit i've installed came with a pin kit. maybe you just need to look into it more and see that this is a common problem not just a way to make money off of people. i made my own pin kit so nobody made money off of me anyways. depends on the car if i can get the tool in or not to install the balancer. sometimes you just can't use the tool to put the balancer on. GM has a new bolt with thread locker on the shoulder to help. they also want it torqued to 250 ft. lbs. some 20 ft. lbs. over spec.
  15. well since the '05 vettes had the problem with the balancer bolt backing out i would say 400 fwhp can be border line. there was a TSB about throwing a belt on corvettes because the balancer bolts come loose. TSB 05-06-01-001A. maybe you know more than everyone and everyone who has seen or had a balancer spin on the crank shaft is wrong. maybe you can explain to to me why a balancer that can be fully installed with a block of wood and a hammer (that has to be a really pressed fit if that will do it right?) and a single bolt torqued to a min of 239 ft. lbs. won't come off. please show me proof of your reason.
  16. you are proving yourself to know very little about cars. you continue to argue with out backing anything up while there is plenty of cases where the balancer will spin and back out the bolt without pinning. now while on a stock car the pin kit isn't necessary but in high horse engine its a must.
  17. i understand that but it doesn't always. i have seen it first hand. the pin keeps the balancer from spinning on the crank shaft and loosing the balancer bolt.
  18. really because i have seen the balancer spin off the crank with a heads/cam ls2.
  19. its common. chevy high performance even had it happen to them on a ls1 they built.

    WTF AEP???

you should ask AEP why they still haven't replaced the power poll at the corner of main and mcnaughton that is being held up with rope tided to another poll because a car hit it and broke it in half. true story.
  21. have you seen my build thread? lol for the shifter kart its getting the engine rebuilt and port, polish and the carb bored out.
