EXACTLY! I dont mind so much about thinking about the future mostly because the moves Howeson made was just that, for the future. But its the fact that none of those moves will come to fruition for the next 2-3 years. I mean even guys like Ovechkin and Crosby didnt really start contributing until their second season and thats not to say they werent good. They were both in the running for rookie of the year and AO will win the scoring title this year no doubt. Oh and this guy we picked up for the Caps, he's just a kid. A freshman at ND no less. On top of that he's REALLY small and a defensemen, which says two things. He's not physically mature enough for the NHL, probably has speed but without being on Offense how does that contribute much?

Any other NHL/Jacket's fans out there? I have a gripe. First of all there was a SLIM chance of us making the playoff's this year... SLIM. I think we would've needed to win the majority of the rest of the season but the win in Calgary was big for us. My gripe is, WHY IN THE HELL DID WE GET RID OF FOOTE AND FEDEROV IN EXCHANGE FOR NO ONE! We got jack shit in this deal. Absolutly NOTHING. Scott Howeson pretty much gave a clear sign to everyone that he's given up on this season, but that doesnt mean he needs to take away the core group of veteran's. For anyone who doesnt know much about hockey its much like football in the sense that you cant win a championship with a huge group of young guys, you need experience, you need veteran's. Yeah Federov is basically on the decline of his career and Foote's seen better days but they were two of our core guys. And correct me if Im wrong but Foote's been on the team since its inception if not the second season, hell he's the FUCKING CAPTAIN! I wanted to see us get rid of two of our middle line guys and aquire Brad Richards from Tampa Bay SO BAD. After reading up on this guy and realizing he's a offensive force (91 points last season, lower this season but playing time has increased and he plays too much D this season aswell) we offered him to be on our first line centering Nash and Zerdev and we still couldnt get him?! The ONLY positive of this whole debacle, if you think there IS a positive. Is that if we dont make the playoff's (which we wont) we will not only get our own 1st round draft pick, but the draft pick we picked up from the Caps for the Federov trade and didnt we get a first round pick from the Foote trade aswell? So thats 3 first round picks in one of the most talented draft pools in the last decade. Arguably of course

I was thinking about this for our area aswell. We live on a culdesac so the only time our street ever gets plowed is when the sun shines and melts the snow away. It sucks.

plus 1 I had similar issue's with my Q and everytime I took it in it was replaced under warranty therefore i didnt pay my deductable. I had problems sending one text to multiple people aswell, I couldn't fwd a text to more than 3 people at a time, dont know why. Oh and this was on my Q.

Im down, I totally agree with the "older" crowd idea and not getting as much punk kids to the late night meets. Just an idea, since it is called cars&coffee, why not just rotate to different coffee shops or Starbucks locations? Easy enough. The starbucks right up the road from me on Sawmill/Hard has plenty of parking available and Im sure they wont mind the extra business. Same goes with the starbucks location down the road from that one. I wont be able to make every gathering but for the fridays i dont drink or go out I could easily be there.

No i was meaning more in general of getting back into biking. I agree flatland looks hard as hell as well as very technical. While it would be fun to learn something new Im not all that interested in getting into that aspect of riding. More interested in getting back into just goofing off on a bike, trying a little bit of everything but not neccessarily just one thing. And more or less using it as transportation too. I remember when I was a kid I'd go out on my bike at 10am, wouldn't be home until dark, out riding all day didnt matter where as long as I was with my friends and on my bike. Those were the days.

Yeah it does have an aftermarket head unit. Its a pos, hence the reason for taking it out and putting the one i have in it. I knew there had to be some sort of tool to unlatch it, using two flathead screw drivers and pliers weren't exactly helping any Thanks for the recommendation Trowa, like I said its not like I want a big system or anything. Just a swap, I'll try it again but if i cant get it out without breaking somehting I'll give them a call.

Whats riding 'flatland'? I miss riding alot. I use to be big into it when I live on Long Island, you would be surprised how much woodland is on LI. there were dirt trails EVERYWHERE. So I guess if I wanted to clasify it I rode trails/dirt?? I was just in it for fun so I really didnt care. Before you flame me for using the Search button I will say I tried. For some reason it just kept bringing up a blank page. I know its been talked about before but can anyone recommend a reputable shop/individual who can install an aftermarket head unit in my Eclipse? Pretty simple, take out the old, aftermarket DD unit and put in the newer one I already have. The other option is if anyone know's how to remove this fucking thing without breaking the center console Im open to opinions. If I pay someone to do this it's gonna be on the cheap they literally dont have to do any work but remove the unit and put the new one in. The unit I have is already wired up and ready to go.

I posted this in the "regret selling your car thread" but its worth reiterating. I had an '84 VW Rabbit Diesel. Car looked like the biggest POS but damn it got great mileage and was a great beater. I kinda miss that piece. I agree if your looking at any diesel car look into a VW. If your looking into a truck your options open up but I dont know of any small trucks sold with diesel's. They did produce the Jeep Libery with a diesel for a while but not sure if they still do.

Mallard, you seem to know alot about this platform. Do you know anything about the stock block internals? Forged? big rods/pistons? compression ratio? At what psi is the 260hp generated? In other words, can this stock block ecotec handle 20-25psi daily? I have always heard the ecotec is a great engine and really stout but like Neonkiller have yet to see one. Maybe it's because the platform it was put in for so many years was just crap? The exception to this being the newest platform's that is.

If you have a choice between the Cobalt SS, WRX or Civic SI? If price is a major concern I would say the SI. Even with "only" 200hp it should (at least in my point of view) suffice for daily driving plus it will keep its worth WAY better than either the SS or the WRX. While 260hp is nice and the ecotec is a decently proven platform depending on what mods are done. I dont see that car or brand name beating either the SI or WRX on quality.
