Pull the wire out from the hole and see if it is wet. If the people that did the tune up didn't seat the boot correctly you can get water in there and cause a miss. If it is dry check for spark. If you have spark check the plug just in case if they didn't replace that one. If it is good move on to your injector and check to see if you have pulse. If you have pulse then swap injectors with another cylinder. If the miss jumps, replace the injector. If it doesn't change, do a compression test.

I don't know of any diesel techs that have high quality boxes. Do I have craftsman boxes, sure I do at home. Any truly busy technician (not a mechanic, there is a difference) has a good quality box. That being said don't run out and buy the baddest one in the land. Start small and work your way up.

They build some bad ass chevy engines. The black malibu that won the true street race at marion had a bes engine in it. Brian the guy that run the shop has a killer pump gas nova that runs well into the 9's. They did my machine work on my motor and it was top notch.
