  1. I know it is a couple days early. Figured I would do it while I am logged on here. I am staying busy with tuning. Hope to keep that way until the snow starts falling. Before you know it spring will be here and fun starts all over again.
  2. Thanks to everyone who as contributed to this topic. Several people have pointed out that Walmart does not require a high level of intelligence, college degree, or special skills to work at. I agree with this. However, think of the number of manufacturing jobs along with those who had a job that used their college degree that are now out of work because job went to China. Not everyone that works at Walmart is pond scum in terms of the work force. I would think there a number of their employees that are working their because they can not find any other work. If Walmart is the only job a person can find to support themselves and their family then more power to them. Guys and Gals - I do not see how this country can survive on sales people, customer service, and computer related jobs alone. We need to make things. If we had never paid lower prices for things at places such as walmart we would never think we were paying too much in the first place. So Instead of complaining on how much things cost how about we take a look at what we really need compared to the thing we do not need. I laugh at my friends who have the latest Iphone, 80" TV, new car etc, ect. There was nothing wrong with their phone that was a year old. The picture on their 50 inch tv looked sharp as ever. Their car with 50,000 miles could have gone another 100,000 miles. But in their eyes they had to have the latest and greatest. If you can afford to pay cash for these things then go right ahead. If your spending habits put you farther in debt and require a part time job on top of your full time job to make ends meet then I would suggest taking a second look at your spending habits. I realize the business that I am is a luxury and not a need. This is why I continue to "save for a rainy day". You never know when my business is going to slow down to the point where I need to to do something else or go away all together. Yes I would like to go out and buy a new ZR1 or BMW 1000RR or a 90 inch TV. Instead I never want to worry about going hungry and have money when it is needed for things such as home repairs, etc.
  3. Half the United States could not afford getting a new IPhone every time one comes out along with an IPad if it was not for the cheap prices at Walmart. Buy shit as cheap as you can so you think you can afford to buy shit you do not need.
  4. One woman claimed $75.00 a paycheck for her health insurance.
  5. Interesting video starting around the 1 hour mark.
  6. If you have the time to watch the video posted above I would encourage it. I know I am only one person and will not be able to make a difference. Pretty sure I am done shopping there. I would rather go pay a little more at a mom and pops store then give to this company. The number of businesses it affects is staggering. Maybe it is because I am a small business owner. If walmart gets into the dyno tuning business I am fucked. I realize that many of you will continue to shop their because you need to get the most for your money. I am blessed will a small business that gives me a decent living. Therefore, I do not mind paying a little more for things. Eventually everyone is going to lose.
  7. Good response FIJI. Maybe Walmart could teach General Motors a thing of two about how much money to set aside of compensation.
  8. Looks like Mcdonalds would be a better career path over Walmart. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2012/11/16/walmarts-internal-compensation-plan_n_2145086.html?ref=topbar
  9. Probably. The look for a tribute ride for the tribute ride of the tribute ride.
  10. I know the other day she was riding some machines. However I do not think it was Peni.
  11. This was forwarded to me by a friend. Keeping balance and perspective in life is important. In Quest we strive to achieve excellence in all we do but it's also important to "stop and small the roses" from time to time. Enjoy this little anecdote. When things in your life seem almost too much to handle, when 24 hours in a day are not enough, remember the mayonnaise jar and the 2 Beers. A professor stood before his philosophy class and had some items in front of him. When the class began, he wordlessly picked up a very large and empty mayonnaise jar and proceeded to fill it with golf balls. He then asked the students if the jar was full. They agreed that it was. The professor then picked up a box of pebbles and poured them into the jar . He shook the jar lightly. The pebbles rolled into the open areas between the golf balls. He then asked the students again if the jar was full. They agreed it was. The professor next picked up a box of sand and poured it into the jar. Of course, the sand filled up everything else. He asked once more if the jar was full. The students responded with a unanimous 'yes.' The professor then produced two cans of beer from under the table and poured the entire contents into the jar effectively filling the empty space between the sand. The students laughed... 'Now,' said the professor as the laughter subsided, 'I want you to consider that this jar could represent your life.' The golf balls are the important things---your family, your children, your health and your career - and if everything else was lost and only they remained, your life would still be full. The pebbles are the other things that matter like your favorite pastime, your finances and your friends.. The sand is everything else - the small stuff. 'If you put the sand into the jar first,' he continued, 'there would be no room for the pebbles or the golf balls. The same goes for life. If you spend all your time and energy on the small stuff you will never have room for the things that are important to you. Pay attention to the things that are critical to your happiness. Spend time with your family...your parents, your children, visit with grandparents. Take care of yourself...your body and spirit. Play another 18 holes of golf...go dancing, enjoy yourself and each moment of your life. There will always be time to clean the house and make repairs. Take care of the golf balls first - the things that really matter. Set your priorities. The rest is just sand. One of the students raised her hand and inquired what the beer represented. The professor smiled and said, 'I'm glad you asked.' The beer just shows you that no matter how full your life may seem, there's always room for a couple of beers with a friend.
  12. I just used their dyno to tune my customers truck.
  13. 768 awhp 751 awtq at 14 psi. Lots of room for more power.
  14. Pretty sure I can use that same dyno again to tune yours.
  15. Any questions should be directed to Nathan.
  16. Was expecting this to come from Miget Todd.
  17. Wish it had a swing arm on it for 1320 feet at a time.
  18. Congratulations to Mark and the rest of his team.
  19. May try to get my father and a couple friends to go.
  20. I think the best thing I can do at this point is to show him this thread. Does he have the means to purchase the bike? - I believe he does. I never thought to talk to him about insurance. The first street bike I ever rode around the age of 25 was a 99 R1. A year later I rode a Busa who was owned by the guy that built the car dyno. My dumb ass about wrecked the damn thing trying to slow down for a set of rail road tracks. Given my history with "fast" cars it was probably a good idea that I did not get my first bike "2001 GSXR 1000" until I was 29. Now that I am 36 I find myself slowing down more and more. The thought of even hitting the pavement hurts.
