  1. Way to go Dave!. He's making a helluva name for his new company. Im really happy for him.
  2. Looks like youve got it all figured out and just a decision on how much you want to spend (pre insulated or you doing it after the fact) I'll chime in on the concrete. Assume you are going to pour over mesh and bar with a good base gravel pack? I would probably go 6" myself due to the size of the pad to help avoid cracking. The other thing I was going to do with mine was have a section of concrete that was 10-12" thick in case I needed to set some heavy machinery or equipment on it. i.e a lathe, mill, steel, etc. With it being 64ft long, I would also go with 3-4 floor drains in the middle or 3-4 down each edge, that way you can just spray and squegie the floor when you need to. Another option would be that for something that size, I would probably build a pit as well for changing oil in vehicles or using as a storm shelter. What size service are you going to run to it? Im jealous man, I was going to build a 28x40x12 but ill have to jump through all kinds of hoops and permits due to the township and stupid property line issues. (Even though its country)
  3. Well, I was coming home last night and they were cutting the beans from my primary coyote hunting field. I drove by this morning and it didnt look like they got them all down and this crappy rain will probably delay then another day or 2 to dry again. Hopefully they will have them down by this weekend and I can go and pop a coyote or 2.
  4. Nice. Every few days around the same times. Wouldnt even have to call them in.
  5. Ive got Coyote hunting spots locally but my deer hunting area is all the way out in Cambridge OH. Although Im trying to remedy that by talking with the local farmers when I catch them cutting crops. I found an amazing honey hole yesterday but cant find the landowners to contact since the land is assigned to a Corp per the county auditor. My plan is to pass it everyday on the way home and hopefully catch them when they are out cutting the corn and try and get a name to call. Based what I see going on, on this property, I do not have a high confidence level that I will be able to get permission to hunt it.
  6. I have a fall turkey tag.. Hook a brother up.
  7. If I didnt already have plans I would be more than happy to help out.
  8. Ask her a few questions and give her some of the feedback here and let her make her own choice. Also take her to a shop and let her shoot each and make up her own mind. 1. The xbow will be easier to shoot but you'll need to make sure to get one she can draw back which is not a big issue. 2. The compound takes a lot more practice, but is 10x as rewarding IMO when shooting targets or hunting. Like I said, take her to a shop and let her shoot each for a bit and see what she likes. If she just wants to hit the target, she will lean xbow. If she seems to really like archery, then she will lean towards the compound and will want to put in the effort to get good with it. Thats where the real joy is IMO.
  9. Well the bucks are still running together with no interest in the does. I saw a few bucks joined up last night just cruising the tree line making scrapes. Does were about 300 yards off in the field and they were showing no interest.
  10. Meat is meat.. cook up some backstraps and enjoy the meal. I havent been out yet this year I also primarily bowhunt 98% of the time.
  11. What distance? Looks like you spined her in the middle of the back. Hopefully you didnt ruin too much of the back straps. Looks like a nice tasty size.
  12. TrustedSec... psst. what the hell do they know. They are just some boutique goober firm.. HAHAH. J/K Your boy is a helluva guy.
  13. Does she want to hunt with it or just shoot it for fun?
  14. Dammit, Just saw this. Start shooting me a PM when your going to climb.
  15. Definitely call the FAA and report it. I lost an engine in a 172 one time and had my GF and her sister with me at the time. After a loud pop, and running rough, I turned to and pulled that bisch back to get as much alt as possible before i lost the ability to maintain alt. I was able to get enough alt before the engine completely shit to glide back to the airport and put her down fine. I called about 2 days later to see if they knew what happened and they told me that they had just replaced 2 cylinders in the plane and that evidently "they didnt take" WTF. Yeah, none of that was in the maintenance logs when I checked out the plane. Glad to hear your ok. Get the hell out of there before something bad happens to you.
  16. Yep, It was shot in Wayne county just outside of Wooster. You can follow the thread on it on archerytalk as more info comes out. http://www.archerytalk.com/vb/showthread.php?t=2103099&highlight=wooster

  20. Dammit man. quit posting crop damage permit kills unless youre going to invite me.
  21. Exactly. Why would a business want to continue doing something that costs them money they dont make anything on. Sorry man, thats business and thats life.
  22. Guys this is just another option. If you want to go to a check in station, DO IT. I however am glad that I dont have to go somewhere as it saves me time and money.
  23. Would love to but that may be my first weekend to go deer hunting.
  24. Good luck to everyone. Unfortunately, I wont be able to get out for a few weeks yet but should be a bit cooler by then as well. Jealous of whoever said they had 1200 acres. I usually hunt about 60 out in Cambridge but would love to have more. Also jealous of the guys with the crop damage permits. I would love to take a deer at distance with my match rifle.
