  1. Picked up a Corax and 2 Mammut autolock biners today. Actually bought this to switch from from a full body harness while im deer hunting in the stand. Figured the rock climbing harness would be more manueverable, lighter, better usage, etc.
  2. I live in CBUS. I was planning on heading to Vertical Adventures tomorrow some time since they are closed Fri for some event. I havent climbed in a while but wanted to get back into it. Once I get some gear of my own (wont take long) Ill definitely hit the Scioto with you as its on my way home from work.
  3. HAHA.. Are you shitting me.. there has never been anything related to climbing on here and I started looking a few days ago... I just stopped into the REI in Cincy today. I was deciding between the Adjama and the Corax. I think Im settled on the Corax for my needs and adjustability.
  4. I understand what your saying about uniqueness of a 338 AR platform but when you talk about recoil and action manipulation causing target acquisition problems on a bolt rifle, you don think your going to have recoil issues with 338AR? The chances of a SHTF scenario where you need the stopping power of a 338 in a semi platform is about slim to none. Besides, if you cant hit your target, it doest matter what caliber your running. I would venture to say that 98% of people could not hit a 12" target at 400 yards. Let alone do it on the first shot. A quality .223/5.56 is plenty accurate to 700+ yards with the right ammo/shooter. Yeah windy days beat it up at distance though. If you want something different, can get ammo for and is still a bit unique, check out an AR in 6.5 Creedmoor. Its a great cartridge.
  5. Hurry up!!! you have about 24hrs left before they draw the winner at the Gap Grind this weekend.. Heres your chance.. I bought a few tix myself. http://prs.mycustomevent.com/ShoppingCart.aspx?com=detailview&iid=7&&curid=1#.Ud9EiD5qI_Y.facebook
  6. The POF is very nice.. But when getting into that price range you can always consider a GAP. http://www.gaprecision.net/ga-precision-2013-custom-rifles/ga-precision-g.a.-precision-gap-10-.html
  7. Welcome to big boy toys.. $45 is nothing for mags when talking about Large rifle calibers. Hell my magazines for my bolt rifles cost way more than that.. If $45 mag is too much, you may want to consider sticking with firearms you can afford to feed.
  8. I have tons of Hawks and some falcons by me but man I would love to have a Bald Eagles nest somewhere close. I love birds of prey.
  9. Ours didnt do so well this year. Lasr year we had hundreds of ghosts which i love. I'll take some ghosts and would love to try the morugas if you can spare. Are those the Trinidad Morugs? Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk 2
  10. Couldnt tell if they were pups or just tiny due to summer heat. Guessing thats momma there in the middle. For a hot summer she's pretty thick so they are definitely eating well. I have allot of yotes down by me. So many actually that in 2.5 years of living there, I havent seen 1 groundhog in any field or along side any road. The coyotes have cleaned them out. Very few rabbits, no turkeys, etc. Its just a matter of days if a deer gets hit along the road before the yotes will have it stripped clean or drug off. Last year alone I had pics of them on 3 seperate deer kills where they dragged it 100+ yards through a snow packed field. Pretty interesting when you see the the drag marks going across a field. Then you realize they are 30-40 lbs each but in a pack (3-4 dogs) they are dragging 200+lbs of deer. They are truly predators.
  11. Understood and I love looking at the pics as well. The point on yotes is they over populate quickly and have quite a home range. They also destroy the other natural wildlife. Get a pack or 2 of yotes in your area and watch the rabbits, fawns, turkey, grouse, pheasant, etc start to disappear quickly. They will also attack full grown deer. With you having 3 of them in that 1 pic, you definitely have them packing up. They need to be kept in check just like the other animal populations thus the reason for hunting them and also the reason there is no closed season. They repopulate quickly and are pretty destructive which is why the ODNR has open season on them.
  12. Great pics. I would love to come help you get rid of some of those coyotes.. Youve got some great deer out there and obviously a yote problem. I love dispatching those little bastards. Especially with night vision.
  13. Sent from my DROID RAZR using Tapatalk Nope dont think i mis-read. He clearly said $2900 invested in his 6.8 build. I pointed out that was a shit-ton. I then also asked why he wanted a 338 AR.
  14. Guys, I feel all your pain as well but here is a little piece of advice. If you choose to go down the suppressor route, you need to understand and expect a few things. 1. The wait times are long.. they are only getting longer. 2. Once you buy it, you need to do your best to forget about it until its approved. 3. If the delay is due to the ATF clearing Form 3's, Form 4's please dont complain to your dealer. They cant do anything about it and are in the same position as you. 4. Suppressors are an investment in both time and money, . This is not an item that you can walk into a store, buy, and go use the same day. You have to understand it could take you over a year from the time you pay until you have it in hand. If you are not willing to wait these times, then a suppressor may not be the best investment for you at this time.
  15. First things first. Temp Terrain/Use Budget Weight, Answer those first.
  16. A few things where I see them having a bit of an edge if they can pull it off. Being able to tie into ANT+ devices such as heart rate, alt, and speed will be a big hit for the adrenaline junkies. Imaging being able to see your speeds around a track, speed and heart rate while skydiving, etc. That is pretty cool. where I think they will struggle a bit is its size. It looks 2X-3X bigger than the new go pro. That means more weight and space which will deter some. It will also be interesting to see the mounting options for it.
  17. Yes they do. Its one of the nicest free ones in the state as well as a path through the woods with deer targets at various distances / angles.
  18. $2900?? Holy shit. You could have had one of the best gunsmiths in the business build you a 100% custom for that and been way better off both in parts and performance. Example: http://www.gaprecision.net/ga-precision-2013-custom-rifles/ga-precision-g.a.-precision-gap-10-.html Can I ask why you want a .338 AR platform?
  19. Yup, we've all been there. There is a local watering hole here in columbus that the owner pulled me aside and said thanks. I asked for what and he said, "Well youve basically spent enough money in here over the last 7 months that you pretty much paid for the new deck addition outside.
  20. Shittygsxr will be all over this.
  21. He's not trail riding. Hes looking for a workhorse, not a pure toy. I went the same route with the workhorse and love it.
