  1. I don't live far at all from Mid Ohio. I was really just planning to do one day my first time. Get there in the morning, ride some, then pack up and head home.

If I like it enough then maybe I'll venture out and do weekend events further away from central Ohio.

I'm pretty excited about this now actually. It really sounds like the scene is quite accommodating and there are a lot of good people involved.

Yes, speaking from experience from myself, as someone that was in the car scene and racing before getting into motorcycles, the motorcycle race group is much more welcoming. They are more laid back and willing to help, where I always felt the car scene was filled with drama and stuck up pricks most of the time.

  2. I'm not worried about a fixable issue. My concern is if the forks or frame are bent. The type of thing I can't really anticipate or fix.

I'm sure the bike is fine. I'm just psyching myself out. I bought my race license yesterday after Todd got back to me about number availability (see modified signature). I'll pre-register 8 days out, so I can get an idea of what the weather will be like.

Anyone know what Quentin charges for a 211 rear at the track? Does he take card at the track?

Quentin doesn't sell dunlops, you need to talk to Todd for that.

  3. is this the class where it's mostly 14-18 year olds?

No one can race AMA until they are 16 years old, that's why lewis didn't join the ranks till this year.

But to answer your question, the majority of the grid is the younger population. It is a support class for sport bike, and regional expert racers in club series are able to run in this class if they have enough points as expert to apply.

  5. Will this be televised?

We should have abdecal make a couple of stickers that say dick squeezers and see if he'll let us sponser him on his bike.

No, they do not televise the supersport or xr1200 races. You have to have an account with your subscriber to watch Speed2 online. Best bet for results is just watch RRW for postings or watch the living timing feature from AMA's website.

  6. Mad-

You need to sell that piece of shit entry to Putnam and come to Nelson instead. It's going to be packed, cold and a ton of cluster going on. Plus, the savings would be more to not do Putnam and do Nelson anyways...

I have already tried to tell him that but he is too side tracked by all the ghey going on for putnam haha

  7. Gotcha, Nick. I don't plan on running warmers anytime this season so I want something that will obviously warm up quickly and provide a little longevity.

I've run Pures, Q2's, and 003RS' (on street only).

Yeah all three of those would be comparable, just different brands verison of their dual compound street/track tires.

  8. I'm not sure but I don't think just any vendor can get the race tires. (for any brand) usually only the track side guys carry them. Another benefit is most of the track side guys I've talked to offer free mounting if you buy the tires from them.

Yeah if you buy tires at the events for Moto Series you will get free mounting, so that is something to consider. That is a $30-$40 difference potentially, also if you only have one set of wheels you have to consider if you need to switch from multiple tires. If you are going to have to go from races to rains on one set, you could be changing multiple times in a day, prime example would be some of the days we had last year.

  9. Sometime there is a tag on each warmer that will list the wattage per warmer. If you don't know the exact wattage it would be hard to gauge, but either way it sounds like you are going to be pretty close. I would look into going to the next size up, that way you can ran a fan or other things if needed. Look into one of those champion genny/inverters posted before in tyler's thread, not a bad price at all.
