  1. I recently purchased a 520 Kit for my R6...waiting for delivery. Like a kid on christmas, when I get something new, i want to play with asap. anyway, I'm familiar with replacing sprockets but have no clue on chain replacements. so, does anyone want to offer their assistance at my house in Dublin? I'm guessing a "chain tool" will be needed. I have stock chain (I believe), and going to a DID ERV3 Chain. We'll celebrate the installation with Yuengling. Thanks, Chris
  2. Brett Bennett, he did my tech inspection for my last track day. I'm not a fan of his customer service. Mid-Ohio's tech inspection is all over the place. My first day this year, I passed without issue. I had no safety wiring done at the time and just siliconed the oil drain plug and oil fill cap. They told me that they want my oil drain plug wired next time. Next time I go, I didn't need an oil change nor did I feel like drilling the bolt while on the bike...I gambled...no wiring. At the tech inspection, I'm like 2nd in line all day. Brett approached me and I thought I was going to get shat for no wiring on the drain plug. Brett, if my memory serves me correctly, didn't mention it...I said i was siliconed and he seemed fine with that. Then he said that I needed silicone on my coolant plug, oil dipstick, oil filter and that I needed my coolant cap wired. WTF?! Different story every time I go! He told me to go do the silicone, come back, find him and get reteched - no signature on my sticker So, I do all the stuff he asked for and he's no where to be found. So I explain my story to another guy...he does the inspection and as he's signing Brett comes back over and drills me and retech's my bike. I already had the signature. Anyway, I like that he was thorough...but that was the only thing I liked. Maybe it was just a little early for him...who knows. Another thing on silicone... I don't see how it's preventing any bolt from loosening. I bought some pre-drilled bolts and started safety wiring. The silicone didn't seem to add any resistance to the bolts and it just peeled off. One more thing, Lizard is scared to go mtn biking with me.
  3. I was thinking of sticking to SOHC... convince me otherwise? I'm at the tip of the iceberg with this model bike. I've been throwing around the idea of a cafe racer...saw one at the track...cb 400. Guy told me to stick with the SOHC...easier to maintain. Hell if I know. I'm not doing engine work...at least I dont think I am. So, should I go with the later model DOHC?
  4. is that the double cam engine?
  5. Is it a rolling frame? As for the engine...man, I'm clueless when it comes to engine work. Not sure i wanna get involved with that.
  6. I'm looking for a bike to build a cafe racer. Hopefully these are in running condition but not immaculate. i'd hate to modify one in original condition...these seem to carry some demand. what's the condition and what are you looking to get out of them? the 79...is this a DOHC? as for the 77, this isnt one of those rare permanent cast moldings? I think they only did those the first year or so.
  7. I'm researching 1969-1978 Honda CB 750. Anyone got any first hand information on these? I can google Anyway, I came across a 1977 CB 754...yeah...a 754. Not sure if it was a typo or not, but the first page of the google search showed a few results...mostly forum stuff and cb 750 stuff. Any info on these machines would be great. Thanks!
  8. Take it to Pat...shop is right by AD Farrow's. Not sure he's on the board though...talk to OG/WhoDey.
  9. Yeah, it was a perfect track day. Intermediate was a CLUSTER F*CK with the race school riding in it. My gf jumped to A and felt much safer there. Being just a newb at this and only attending two tracks, I must say that motoseries is definitely the least strict. No stickers for N,I,A. Tech inspection took about 15 seconds. Hell, I bet you could've done this day without even paying! Just show up and unload. Anyway, I liked the 'race start' practice that they organized at the end of the day. It was a bit dangerous without detailed instructions...ie - should you run the lap or just do the first turn? Weird...but fun. Anyway, that was the best weather I ever experienced at the track...sunny for every session. Oh, lots of wrecks in I and A. Had one guy crash right in front of me. I heard him hit, I heard him flip around like a flounder (intended). I'm glad I didn't crush him.
  10. I'm not sure how much grooming can be done in I. When I was running I, I got bumped because I was passing everyone...never got passed. So, with me running I, it would be like the experts/racers running A with me in A. Same scenario...different groups. It's better to have those experts passing me, than me passing folks in I simply because the skill level of those involved. Granted, more space is required in I for passing...but as you know, that's not strictly followed. One thing to note about this day in question... During the last three sessions, it seemed as if the instructors were only concerned about running with the racers...not instructing. Granted, I didn't ask them for help...which is mostly my responsibility. I'm very impatient and I'm typically the first one waiting in the pit for the session to start. During the last three sessions, the racers would go to the front and then all the instructors would follow. the rest of us would be in the back. I think I got lapped by the racers...which I'm not concerned with. this isn't race practice...it's a track day. I'm sure they had no problems passing me
  11. I plan on parking at the pit entrance...perfect spot. I'll call you.
  12. Not sure if this is a sarcastic comment or not....hmmmm.
  13. I'm smooove as butter...except when I'm running off the back straight.
  14. Yeah...running BeaveRun. I'm from pittsburgh...so I'll visit the family too...making a weekend of it. There's a bunch of folks I know running BeaveRun...should be a blast.
  15. yeah...that was me. video would be cool...thanks!
  16. rusty, you were pretty quick. i wasn't holding back much...especially the last two sessions. I was a little slow at the end of the back straight...but you were pulling me. nice work.
  17. I was turning on average 1:45's and i was getting killed for the most part in A. I passed some but most of the racers and instructors were killing me. oh well, i had fun
  18. I saw the Cleveland Browns themed bike coming off the 'I' sessions....but that's all i saw. I'm assuming you'll be at BeaveRun on the 3rd?

  21. Cool...I'll see you there. I'm riding solo...gf has to work. Can't wait!
  22. Just signed up for Tuesday...31/40 spots filled up in A
  23. I'm thinking about tuesday. looked at forecast on weather.com this morning...0% chance of rain! (it will prolly rain all damn day).
  24. I have silicon on my drain plug and on my oil cap. Last year...that was sufficient. MidO wanted me to safety wire when I went on the 7th...but they didnt seem to adamant about it and let me ride A anyway.
