Good seeing some of you out there. Especially Zorro who deservingly got bumped to Adavnced. He was riding really well and in most cases better than a LOT of the riders in that group.
Was really fun chasing Nick and Ken on the Buells. The 1125R is actually a pretty damn good bike and honestly, considering we were on stock bikes and stock EVERYTHING, they went rather well...
Had fun and good to see so many OR riders out there.
Thanks! I felt a little overwhelmed that first time out in advanced. Instead of passing everyone, I passed no one! LOL. Maybe next time.
Nick and Ken...yeah...those guys can ride and are very helpful. I loved how they'd be in full lean on a fast corner, take their hand off, and touch the ground!

Looking that this radar in motion...the 21st might be dry.

is that a nazi eagle on the front of the engine case?

I'm selling my 2003 Honda 400 EX (quad) - title in hand. This is 90% stock. After-market items include:
ITP Hole Shot rims, lug nuts, and tires (80% tread life - see pic).
Hand grips.
I believe I'm the second owner of this dirt weapon. I purchased a few years ago from a couple (lady owned this, guy rode cr250) in Dayton via Texas.
As seen in the pics, I'm include 6 rims (4 oem). 3 of the 4 oem rims have stock tires on it that have tread life. The 4th tire has a big gash on the side of it, compliments of Wayne Nat'l Forrest. The other two tireless rims are ITP Hole Shot. Like an idiot, I tried using stock lug nuts on this and that didn't work so well. I stretched the holes on one rim. I rode one day on these rims with the stretched holes...no issues. However, I was able to talk to the seller and they gave me a great deal on replacing my mistake.
The battery was replaced last year. No issues with this weapon, very reliable. Lights work as well.
$2300

Same with Zorro. Dude is located in Michigan, kinda weird but nice. Talks alot lol.
I believe Lizzard has some good knowledge and the our sponsor Rubin, 35 over in Indy does it too.
he does talk alot
But is pretty cool and very informative.
I remember Lizard mentioning Rubin too. However, Lizard may be sponsored by him. And since he called me a homo...he's prolly lying about how good he is.
I talked to that guy from 'Dept. of Suspension' @ mid-ohio. He said that I would need a new spring. I thought they were completely adjustable. Even though it is lowered 2".He said I could use a new rear shock spring as well. Mine isn't lowered. He said stock 06 R6 spring is a bit stiff. He wrote down what I could use on his bidness card...I doubt I'm doing anything this year...

I need major help setting up the 07 r6 suspension for track setttings. Are there any shops that can do this? Keep in mind I want it done correctly and not by someone who 'thinks' they know how to set it up.
I got mine done at a track day at Mid-Ohio. $80. took about 15 mins. it was done by Dept. of Suspension.
-
It wont "suck" for normal riding. It depends on what you are use to I guess. If you want it setup to handle better at track speeds, or fast street riding it is going to be a little more stiff. Id much rather have a stiff suspension than a sloopy one.
Don't listen to Yota...his bike is spread around the United States like William Walllace's body was spread around England in Braveheart.
-
Sucked for normal riding? How so? Whats the A & B comparison there?
I took mine for a ride around my neighborhood...and there are potholes (filled and unfilled) everywhere. The suspension felt very stiff. I haven't taken it on any rides outside of this. I prolly went 50mph max...and I could notice a difference and I personally didn't like it.
I really don't have a scientific comparison for you. Sorry. I know of another person who rides an 08 CBR 1000rr who runs advanced at Mid-Ohio. He regularly frequents Deal's Gap and is no slouch when it comes to riding. He said he was faster on the track after getting his suspension done, but slower at Deal's Gap. So...that's my two cents.
-
Anyone in Columbus really good or recommended for setting up suspension? Saw Ruben @ 35motorsports mentioned on the board but heading out to Indiana isn't too doable for me right now.
Would like to have two bikes looked at.
I guess it depends what you're gonna use your bike for. Depending how close you are to the average person, your bike may come fairly close to 'ideal' settings for road riding. I got my suspension done at Mid-Ohio on a track day by Dept. of Suspension guy...and I noticed a big difference on the track. I took it for a ride around my neighborhood after my track day...the suspension sucked for normal riding.

You and me both. I checked it last night and was 50% chance of T storms. Now its 0-20% depending on where you look. Highs in the 70s lows, in the 60s.
Way too early to start worrying about it. It was supposed to rain on 6/29 track day...never did.

For sale is a Blue 2007 zx-10r with low miles. I put on a set of M4 pipes, smoked windscreen, Geared it with one down two up ( have stock gears as well ) and re worked the dampiner so it works like a real Ohlins one. I'm asking 7500 for this bike. Its worth every penny. Please feel free to contact me with any questions about the bike.
Posting pic finally.
About time you posted pics...you owe...BIG TIME.

^^^ Sweet thanks.

If you need any help let me know with that sprocket
Thanks. will I need an impact wrench to remove it? I just bought a 30mm socket...and there's a How-to thread on the R6 forum discussing this...they don't mention impact wrench. Just wondering.

I like it...but I'd never do that to my bike.
