  1. I haven't seen many good deals...but I like looking at their posts to see what the market is on certain bikes. With that being said, I haven't seen many good deals on bikes from members either. The gsxr 750 for 3500 seems like the best...
  2. Maybe poor etiquette. However, if a newb was giving away free money...would you care? A newb might have a good deal...and might be in hurry for cash in these poor economic times. I'd like to see a regular member on this forum take advantage of a good deal. I think I'm up to 6 cents...
  3. Being in the market for a bike, I'd like to see as many listings as possible. I'm not worried about folks coming and going...that's life, right? If I was King for a day, I'd do away with the "educated" area before I'd impose this rule. What's more useful, trash-talking gibberish or an ad for a motorcycle? True, I don't have to (and don't) read these meaningless threads, could the same be applied to newbs advertising their bikes? And as far as other forum's and their rules, there's only one forum for me...and that's ohioriders Plus, don't we want to blaze our own trail? Why be followers?
  4. My 2 cents... I understand that you don't want to use the forum for classified ads...and you created this so you can do whatever you want or whatever the consensus wants. However, I don't see a problem with a new guy signing up and wanting to sell his motorcycle first thing. I see this as a motorcycle forum and if it's motorcycle related...I'm all for it. We have a Sound Stage, an area for smack talk about non-riding topics, an off-topic area, etc., on a motorcycle forum. With anything used, you run the risk of getting less than you paid. If a newb wants to post a bike, let the potential buyer decide...that's all. I'd hate to miss out on a potential deal just because a person is new. What does a few post buy us in terms of a seller's reputation...especially when they can post about music, smack-talk, and other miscellaneous items?
  5. this is exactly what the underwriter meant. Thanks for clarifying.
  6. An underwriter told me to "suspend" my insurance during off months to save money. I'm not sure what this means...but they acted as if this was insider information.
  7. He's willing to do this. And instead of me driving to him to get the bike, he's driving to me. Thanks to everyone who commented.
  8. Spend the money and get the dog you WANT!!! You wont have regrets if you do what you want.
  9. I'm going to vegas this weekend, 3pm flight friday. My goal is to not sleep until sunday's flight at 4:30pm - PAC Time.
  10. Benyen - You can get POA on a specific item...in this case a bike. Chrome - Any bike is worth trouble!!!
  11. Ok, I went to the BMV today and this is what the lady there told me to do... 1. Get Power of Attorney - this is done by having us fill out a POA form and getting it notorized. 2. Have him call his lender (Yamaha) and have his address changed to mine. 3. Pay off lien (I'll do this over the phone via Credit Card). 4. When the title comes, take title and notorized POA form to Title office. I can get the title transferred in to my name WITHOUT his signature (because of POA). 5. Get plates. 6. Ride new (used) bike like a mofo. Does anyone see a problem with this? thanks in advance.
  12. Thanks. His demeanor hasn't changed. I'm just tired of cleaning up after him when he gets sick. Antibiotics cures him in a day...so it's not too bad. PM me when you wanna stop over...
  13. I don't know how much money breeders make. For english bulldogs, their breed requires artificial insemination and c-sections...hence the expensive price. I think spending 30% more for a ducati is outrageous!!! People like what they like...and if they can afford it...more power to them.
  14. I have a english bulldog (see avatar). I've had him for over 7 years. I got him as a gift from my ex-girlfriend. She paid $1600 for him. He was purchased online and shipped by plane from Oklahoma. He was picked up at cbus airport! Anyway, he's a great dog...but the first year he was a stubborn/hyper pup. Up until October this past year...he was pretty healthy. Minor wrinkle problems on his face and an ear infection. This year he's had some stomach problems...but this is not specific to the breed. Expected life is 8-12 years. If you really like the breed, I'd spend the extra money and go to a bulldog pet show. I saw some sweet pups here for about 2k. However, as long as it's AKC...you'll be fine. One of my best friends has a bulldog too...so I may be OR.net resident expert. PM me with more questions. You're welcome to stop over for a visit too.
  15. He's only slightly concerned...he's only concerned because I'm concerned and not buying his bike that he doesn't want.
  16. I was supposed to meet him Saturday...but I decided to postpone while I did more research. He's doing some research on this topic as well and we're supposed to discuss this tomorrow.
  17. That's the thing, I don't really know the seller. From my communications with him, he seems cool and legit...but I know if it's a fair judgement. I don't care if I have to wait a few weeks to ride...I have a bike and I can't ride in this weather anyway. I guess I'm looking for more peace of mind.
  18. What happens if I never get the title?
  19. I was debating on making the check out to his title holder and getting a bill of sale notorized. But the title would still go to him...unless there's away to have his lender send it to me. However, I'd still need to get him to sign it. AGH!
  20. I'm interested in buying a bike off a seller who still owes money...therefore, title is NOT in-hand. The seller would use my payment to pay off the bike in full. The seller financed the bike via the manufacture (so, going to the bank is not an option). I do not know the guy personally, so trust is an issue at this point. I'm sure many people have purchased bikes/cars while the owner still owes. How should I go about doing this? Should I just forget about it while the title is not in-hand? Thanks in advance...
