  1. thanks. Advanced auto parts on bethel has it for almost $13 a quart!
  2. I agree. let's remember what debate is... OEM headers vs. Aftermarkets. Cat converters, exhaust cans, PCIII, etc aren't in the debate. Now, I'm going to say that aftermarkets can make a difference with weight. They can probably make a difference in air flow if they have different bends in them. They can probably make a difference in air flow with drag resistance...maybe the insides are smoother than stock. However I cant agree that if they're bigger in diameter you'll notice a gain...simply because hole is the same as OEM at the mount point. I feel it's like a chain...chain is only as strong as the weakest link. If there's a small diameter...you can still only fit so much air through a small hole...regardless of the size of the pipe AFTER the small hole.
  3. A full exhaust system is meaningless if you don't tune it properly. I don't know of any that come tuned. In fact...after you buy a full system...you still need to allow more air flow and adjust the fuel with the Power Commander or something else.
  4. So...if the hole is the same size...how is air flow increased? think of a funnel...if I have a super small funnel and oil is flowing thru this...it doesnt matter what the hell is after the smallest part on the funnel.
  5. i think we're all looking for the difference.
  6. you would disagree...and you'd be wrong. On my R1 the cat converter is not included with the headers; it's a totally different piece. when i did the exhaust on it, I bought two slip ons and a cat replacement...which is a straight Y pipe for the R1. Slow R6's might have the cat inside the headers...you'd be the expert on that
  7. I heard the same thing from a mechanic at Hinds. I'm guessing the only difference in headers (aftermarket vs. oem) is weight? OEM's might be heavier.
  8. To ahrma120: I bought my 2005 r1 at your shop. While looking at ASK and Honda Northwest, Hinds offered the best price on the bike and on my trade in (1997 Honda CBR F3). The sales guy (forget who) told me he'd give me 3k for my trade, sight unseen. So, I brought it up there...and he tried to give me just 2.7k. After some haggling and letting him think I'd walk out, he gave me 3k. Deal was done. I bought the service plan as well. My bike now has 17+k miles. All service (except mods and tire changes) have been completed by your shop. The bike runs fine...no real problems. After my first oil changed, I noticed there was a scratch on the oil cap. I let it go. I cared then...but now...I don't. After my 16k service, I noticed a fairing bolt was missing. I called the shop, they ordered me another, free of charge. They called a week later stating my free bolt was in. I was lazy...I didn't pick it up for over a month. I finally stopped in, and they still had my free bolt. Good service. Anyway, I enjoyed your post. When it comes to buying my next new bike...Hinds will be the first place i go.

I highly recommend Under Armour Base 3.0. However, it's $70 for the pants and $70 for the shirt. Well worth it!

I didnt feel like dragging this out of the garage...2003 Honda 400ex.
  16. ...and probably a little bit of fork oil too. Sucka.
  17. I looked at a 2005 636 at Hinderer. It was a decent bike but they wanted about 1500 more than I was willing to pay. I found this bike via ebay. They had a buy-it-now for 6k. I think the highest bid was 4250, which didnt meet the reserve. I offered 4300 or 4500 BEFORE the auction ended. He didn't even counter my offer. I guess my low offer was an insult. They had this bike for about a year too. i guess they're made of money
