  1. JP, he's a orthopedic surgeon. His hands make a shit load of money. And I respect that he thinks of the family and doesn't take that risk. Some take the risks associated with racing some don't and feel they have too much to lose. I had them write into my life insurance policy 1/4 mile and track racing. The rate is the same if you do it once or weekly. This way if I decide once a year to have a bit of fun, I'm covered. I have turned down a couple private flights on small aircraft. My policy clearly states flight only on commercial airlines or no payment. For what we pay for my policy, I refuse to take the risk on that.

I had to turn down spreading my father's ashes over the Grand Canyon, he was a pilot and so were his friends. They flew over in a private aircraft and released his ashes over the canyon. Tough decision, but I didn't go, I put my family first.

And in this example-you are still driving/racing the car. Would you buy a Hi-Powered Biplane you could not fly? That is my question.

I can't stand fixing up something to LOOK nice but never run, race, or even drive it. That's far worse in my opinion but again different strokes for different folks. Some people just don't like going fast....

Well, that's exactly my point. The car was not build to float across the English channel, it s race car. A "street" race car at that. Why build a racer car with no intentions of racing it? Its not NASCAR where actual profit can be made-its for internet nut-swinging and street racing only. Otherwise, the car serves no purpose.

  2. i don't even want to think of what my disability insurance would be if i drag raced, sky dived, had a DUI, bull riding, etc etc. aside from all the drug tests, labs, physicals, etc---they ask you about every possible risky activity known to man (bull riding--lol). they ask you the same questions for life insurance, but my disability insurance is 4 times the cost of the life policy.

if a car is fast enough to need a chute, i don't want any part of it---period. at least at this point in my life/family/career, it would be terribly irresponsible on my part.

Some people live to work, others work to live. I am not sure what your YTD gross is, but there are a few that are likely higher, that drive their junk with the wheels-up setting records every time they go out. Maybe you should PM them on who'm they are insured though??

I am lucky that even if I was disabled, I could still flourish in my career (as long as I still had a voice). I know not all professions are the same though.

The REAL question relevant to you-if you have these restrictions on your life that would keep you out of a car of this caliber, why the fuck would you build it?

  3. Mark drives his own car, but probably has never turned a single wrench on it.

I have seen him at least put on wheels. ;)

And the people I am questioning turn no wrenched, AND don't even drive the car. If you have the wallet, I understand stroking a check for a car-but to have someone else actually enjoy what you money pay'd for is beyond me.

  4. Same reason guys own race horses and have a jockey race the horse.

That is 100% not comparable. Jockey's are sub 100 lbs midget fucks- even a 6'3 240lbs Banker from Boston that has not one athletic bone in his body with a limp dick and a hairpiece can drive a fucking Corvette, an AUTOMATIC Corvette mind you!! :lolguy:

Mark Drive's his car, Jamie drives his car(s). Neither are Olympic athletes

Maybe he has some kind of medical reason?

Is having a pussy a medical reason?

  5. I always pull that shit out of mine for that reason right there. Any pics from the outside of the car now that it is on the streets?

I will get a pic. It has some old 14's I had laying around and some DR's for now.

And you cant remove that MIDDLE honeycomb and have it idle/read correctly. You can remove literally everything except that one!

  6. Took it out with some local hooligans last night. At 18psi and 10 to 1 AFR's, I pulled a good bus length + on modded Zo6 (C5, HC) so I am happy with the results thus far. :) Waiting on some guys to get their junk ready and then dyno time.

Also odd- after the last pull, car ran erratically. Did a log, showed what looked like a bad MAF. Odd. Got home to find this-

Got lucky it did not have a meeting with my compressor wheel!!

  7. With the wife down with food poisoning (Clam bake+party hard=Long Sunday) I had some free time this evening since we canceled dinner plans.

Installed AEM WB, Autometer Boost gauge, Maximum Motorsports Mechanical oil pressure gauge, and a Shift light (no tach cluster). Semi-permanent, but it will work for now. Decided to chase a boost issue. It hits 14 on the spring, rolls to 30 soon after. Obviously a bypass issue, I figured it was a sticky WG valve, or a bad diaphragm. A little trouble shooting found the China Gate has a "set screw" that I assume is uses to raise boost-well it was buried all the way down ,l restricted the gate from opening more than an inch. Took it apart-reassembled- and took it for a rip to test it out.

Holds 14psi well now. We should be Fuel pumps, and a Data port away from a base tune. I am VERY impressed with this turbo/manifold combo. Thing feels like a freaking 2.4 torque wise. Currently at 10.5to 10.8 to 1 WOT. But dyno says 350-380 whp as I drove it tonight. Car rips for untuned gate spring action! :)
