My 99 7.3 Powerstroke gets around 15 -19 while pulling the wifes horse trailer with living quarters. The tranny's will last alot longer with a huge cooler. Never had a single problem with it so far. Any way you go make sure you use a cetane boost and rotella full syn helps alot as well
Thats what I see, It seems everyone with a big cooler has no issues.
Is there a cooler thats TOO big, as in it will hurt the pump or something else? I'd hate to be the one that kills the damn thing.

Trust me, I love Cummins- but you cant even buy JUNK for 5k!!
-
Me? Nothing! But the car was running 10.8's with an Auto a few years back. There is Video of the pass(es)
Trans and engine are just sitting on the floor, waiting for a new home. PM me with any inerest I dont want to cluter up his thread-I just though an RS motor avaiable would help his sale.
-
You should buy this.
Nice, but to much. If I'm paying that much, I'm getting a cummins or a real duramax.
-
I dont like my hair
Wild nights will do that.
-
And if anyone knows of anything for sale keep me in the loop.
-
Sounds standard for IPS

buy a 12v 5spd. thats the best truck in that price range.
Other thing I like about the 12v is you can click your heels together, and make 100more HP, and 200 more ft lbs.
Almost literally.

Better to go big if theres a chance you will need it. Better to need it and have it rather than need it and not. The only issue is if you can justify the added expense of power for the duration of the time you dont need it. Since price is a factor, search diesel on craigslist and you will get a ton of them in your range.
Thats what I'm saying. And thats why Im no longer shy about a Gas motor (mpg will only be an issue a few times a year) And I'll save what, $100 a trip MAYBE?
Biggest thing is reliability.

good luch buying an extended cab diesel for 5k.
and the older chevy's werent duramax's they were 6.5l's. their junk.
you best bet to find a 90-92 12v 5-spd cummins.
I have about 10 within 60 miles at $3500 and below obo. The one I am most interested in is a 1997 Ford. 210k, no rust, factory serviced with all receipts asking $3000. 2wd, but auto. If it was a 5 speed I would have picked it up that day, but Ford autos at this point scares me.
Who made the 6.5 Chevy motors? When did the duramax come in? What about the 454?
-
You looking at alot of towing power with some of your choices for such little weight.
Steer me in the right direction then!
Maybe I like all the smoke? Im just used to doing overland stuff in Dodge-never left me stranded.
-
i would buy a dirtymax.
i would buy a 06 or 07 pre emissions.
I have a 2006 chevy 3500 lt 2wd dirty for sale.
I should have mentioned my preferred price range is 5k cash and below.
that being said-you can give me an honest review of your rig.
-
Whats the weight your looking to tow?
Max of 3 bikes (To Texas) or a Bike, and a Car. And you know what I drive-little jap shit.
-
i will break you.
-
Need everyone options BASED ON FACTS please- Looking for a long distance tow rig. Looking for 2wd, Extend cab is a must. Was considering Ford Powerstoke, but I see nothing but issue with the tranns in the cars. Would prefer Diesel. Anything else is optional. Biggest concerns
1) Reliability
2)Cost effective
4)Gas Milege
3)RELIABILITY
First Choice- 5 speed 3500 Cummins. Mid-late 90's.
-Pro-bullet proof
-20mpg
cons-Price! Cant find them cheap
-Interior (who cares)
Second-late 90's Ford Powerstorke-
Pro-you can find them cheap
Super comfy
Cons-trans issues in the Automatics
Worse MPG than reported
Third Chevy 3500- Duramax
Pro-cheaper than dodge
4L80E-
cons-???? You tell me!
Also considering-Chevy 3500 w/ gas 454. Seem to be fairly bullet proof.
Pro-I know gas motors
Cons-MPG
You guys tell me! help me out here

Car has been sitting since I now daily the CRV- so its literally just taking up space!!
New Prices-
$3200 on Enki's
$2800 on Fat 5's
Cash takes it home!! Again, this car runs, and drives perfectly. No shakes @100mph- I'd trust it to Florida and back tomorrow
-
Bump-I have been daily driving the car since the big snow, so I am available during the day to meet neat Middleburg if anyone wants to check it out-
Also open to realistic cash offers.
-
I have a built turbo motor/trans set up for the car if anyone is interested in this whip-

I didn't even know those where still "there". That site was "hacked by a virus" or some shit like a year ago!

Free opportunity to beat the shit out of someone and nobody took it.
Right? As soon as he "assaulted" someone, the law is on your side for self defense (in this case, defending someone that cant defend themselves).
I avoided a felony because of this law.

I just though it looked good against my olive skin, and a solid color's short.
Oh well

Ummm.... how is painting an image of yourself through your height, abs, physical activities, and body fat percentage to a bunch of guys not gay
Because I didn't post a pic of the abs, pulling my pants down as if to suggest I was going to show my cock.
Further, the fact that you called my post "painting an image" of my self would suggest that YOU in fact where painting that image in your head-and that in itself is the gayest part of this thread thus far.
